Just fyi there is no particular posting order beyond Hunters and Bounty, so once I've posted you guys can post in any order. Just make sure to only post once per round.

Ecclessey informed me he will be unavailable to post for the next day or so, so I figured I'd let you guys know not to wait for him out of fear of breaking posting order.

Not that anyone is going to care, but I'm going to be making updates to Narir's gear on his profile so he's not without his new toys if/when he gets in a new fight, so I'm putting copies of the gear as it existed on January 1st here for reference if needed.

NARIR SOLUS

Narir Veren-Solus is a young warrior from Mandalore seeking justice for his people against the Sith Empire.



"A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan executed next week."

  • Narir's story begins long before he was born. His father was born into Clan Solus like his father and his father before him. In the early years, Clan Solus's opposition to the Empire was not well received. Despite this, it found allies in a handful of other clans.

    Among those allies was Narir's mother Asara Veren. Her distaste for the Empire and its iron foot on the throats of the Mandalorian people led her to be drawn to Clan Solus where she quickly found kindred spirits. She quickly married one of the sons of Clan Solus and found a home among its members.

    Still holding a love for her Clan, Asara became Asara Veren-Solus, remembering where she came from even while clinging to her new family who welcomed her with open arms. In the subsequent raids, her husband was killed and she was left to raise her son, Narir, herself. Even with the death of her husband, she was considered by the others to be a Solus and still had a home for she and her son.

    Narir was raised as the son of both Clans, but always saw Solus as his first home, and most of his time was spent with the other children of his Clan. Adopted by many of the other men, he was taught to hunt, fight, and raid as if he still had a father.

    As a result of his upbringing, his mother and the rest of Clan Solus are dear to him and he would go to great lengths to protect them. He is fiercely protective of those he cares about and would die to protect them. Perhaps it was because of his name or merely a prophetic and insightful ability of his mother, but his name is apt. Narir has a penchant for acting when others do not, sometimes to the point of being impetuous or brash, but seldom without reason.

    With the start of the Mandalorian uprising against the Sith, Narir was quick to join the fight. His longstanding opinions about the Sith no longer needed to be suppressed, and he now seeks justice against the Sith for their years of subjugation of the Mandalorian peoples.




  • SKILLS AND POSSESSIONS

      Like many other Mandalorians, Narir grew up with pistols and rifles in hand. It began with target shooting at a range and escalated to include hunting prey that increased in danger. He practiced daily with his father growing up, and has even taken part on raids in more recent years.

      With this training, he considers himself to be a good marksman, though there is always room for improvement. While he has extensive practice, there is no substitute for live combat, which he has less of than most soldiers. Time will improve these skills.

      Narir has been trained in close quarters combat tactics like many other Mandalorians. He knows how to grapple, box, and has been taught combat-based martial arts to confront enemies on the battlefield. Most notably, though, is his use of the beskad. He is a naturally gifted swordsman who is frequently seen engaging his enemies at short range and wielding sword and pistol to fell his enemies.

      Notable items:
      • Beskar'gam This is Narir's primary armor that he wears most places. It has been in use by him for most of his life and repaired or modified accordingly as needed. It once belonged to his father, but was re-painted black to reflect Narir's devotion to justice. It bears the badger sigil on either shoulder pauldron.
      • Shriek-Hawk Blaster Rifle (reskin) with a stock and 4 spare powerpacks. This is Narir's primary weapon. He carries it on a sling that hangs at his side in combat when released. Like most Mandalorians, he is quite familiar with the weapon and has trained with it extensively.
      • Two Strill Blaster Pistols (reskin) with 3 spare powerpacks each. He has two of these that he is capable of using them in conjunction with each other or his beskad quite effectively.
      • Beskad - This was a weapon handed down to him through the generations as well. He has become quite familiar with its use and has entered tournaments with it before. He has spent a great deal of time in the battle circles and enjoys sparring frequently as a hobby. This weapon's blade is made with phrik.
      • A phrik vibroblade, frag grenades in pouches (x3), concussion grenade in pouch (x1), medpack, and datapad

Customized Beskar'gam #13038592

Initially beginning as standard issue medium Beskar'gam, Narir has taken steps to further customize his armor with features that are not seen on standard issue armor. These include advanced technology functions and some mildly altered coverage. Like most Mandalorian armor, the T-visor is prominent and it is a reliable set of gear that is capable of protecting Narir from all different types of hazards. The helmet has a comlink built in.

LEGALITY

Mandalorian armor- typically defined as anything bearing the cultures iconic T-visor- has been banned in Sith space as a part of the Mandalorian Cultural Repression laws meant to curb the peoples individualistic and rebellious tendencies. Outside of Sith space, the armor doesn't tend to invite any further scrutiny than other armors in its class, and local jurisdictions vary widely.

INTENT

While I've been using medium Beskar'gam up until this point, with the functions Narir has recently obtained and some of my own personal preferences, I decided to make his variation of medium armor. While it is based off of the medium armor, a few pieces have been modified to suit Narir.

ADVANCED TECH
Yes and no. The armor itself is not advanced, but it has multiple advanced tech functions that have all been earned already here and here.

Type and Coverage

Type: Medium

Coverage: (Coverage regions for Light armor is 1-3 regions, Medium is 4-5, Heavy is 6-7)
  • Head: A full coverage duraplast helmet with transparisteel t-visor
  • Torso: Segmented beskar-alloy plating over bantha hide undersuit covering most of torso
  • Back: Solid beskar-alloy plating over bantha hide undersuit, covering upper back
  • Upper Arms: Duraplast pauldrons
  • Lower Arms: DG-500s


Functions



Function 1: Wrist flamethrower (left wrist)
  • Wrist flamers are rare, expensive, and dangerous armor attachments favored by mercenaries and soldiers more than bounty hunters, and are illegal in many systems. Wrist flamers are powered by small fuel capsules, and typically hold enough for 3 short bursts of flame. These bursts last 2 seconds, are one meter wide and have a maximum range of 3 meters. The weapon must be manually activated via button or switch, and must be disassembled to be reloaded.
Function 2: Jetboots
  • Miniaturized jetpack technology, jetboots (also called "rocket boots") are essentially boots to which small jetpack thrusters have been attached. The wearer must activate/deactivate the thrusters modes via wrist-mounted controls. Like an average jetpack, jetboots permit a maximum speed of 35kph and can maintain this speed for two minutes of continuous flight (flight mode). In combat (mode), they can be used in short bursts to propel the wearer up to seven (7) meters. Jet boots are much smaller, lighter, and less vulnerable to attack and damage than jetpacks, but are also very difficult to utilize effectively, and wearers can be easily thrown off course.
Function 3: Environmental suit
  • While it is not rated for extended exposure to extreme hazards, this body suit (when combined with an enclosed helmet) can protect the wearers body from the effects of environmental and weaponized toxins and similar hazards for up to 5 posting rounds.
Function 4: Dart launcher (right wrist)
  • Can launch a dart accurately up to 15m. This dart is filled with a fast-acting, short-lived sedative that can render near-humans unconscious, or a sedative tailored to one specific alien physiology. Typically lasts 3 posting rounds. The dart is incapable of penetrating even the lightest armor, or even thick leathers.

So I'm going to bandwagon onto that with Ecc and ask for a 24 hour extension as well until I'm back in town @Arclight @Clayton. I should be able to reply on the 16th without issue
