Covax sat at the rickety table watching the crystal clear waters of Sesid crash of the sand floor just feet from where he sat. The warm fresh air and sounds of the water and music from the band at the bar was a welcome change from the cell he had turned his apartment into on The Galactica. So, he took another drink from the pink and yellow concoction in his hand and enjoyed the moment.

Arla had been right to light a fire under his ass. His imprisonment by @Nor'baal Desilijic had taken everything from him, and what the slug didn't take, time robbed him of the rest. Ilana was gone, Silvi and Dante were both adults. After Coruscant, the reality of it all just....broke him.

His talk with the daughter of Ren had been a couple of weeks ago now, and he was looking to the next horizon. The imposing human needed to put a W on the board. With any kind of luck, this bounty would do it. He just needed that pretty boy Edin to show up.

[Edin Frost]

Edin was surprised to be contacted by Covax, having believed him to be dead for a long time. The Firrerreo liked the choice of meeting place, so he showed up. Covax would spot him right away, dressed in a pink, floral hawaiian shirt with the top few buttons undone and simple shorts and sandals. He had a fruity, non-alcholic drink in his hand as he walked over. As usual, no one would ever guess this was the lethal Basilisk, the man that took out several Chancellors, members of the Imperial Council and Senators. Nope, he was just some dude in his vacation vibes.

“Sup,” He said as he sat down across from Covax. He gazed at him through his shades, flashing a fanged smirk, “You look crusty as fuck.”

Indeed it took no time at all to spot the Fierreroian hit man. While he did blend in to the tourist crowd around the beach rather perfectly, the fuck me pink color as a bit much for the human's taste. Covax was also in board shorts, but he chose a sleeveless T with an old Emyrc Energy logo blasted across the back rather then the vibrant floral shirt of his partner. To complete the dad bod vibe, the imposing human had chosen to also carry his pistol and blade in a waist pack over say a sling rig.

"Fuck I'm getting old." He murmured to himself. Then gave the other merc a smirk and a two finger wave as he approached and sat down. Then rolled his eyes at the long range expert. "And you look like you're walking to the set of a halo-porn. IS, is that lip gloss?" Returning the tease.

When the smaller killer sat down, Covax tip his glass toward the other. "Been a while Ed, how's you been?"

[Edin Frost]

Edin chuckled at the quip, “I’m flattered you think I’m attractive enough to be in a porno,” He said simply as he sipped from his drink. In truth, Edin was bored. With the collapse of the various governments, there was no one really hiring him to kill off galactic world leaders. He joined Apex for some new gigs and that kept his attention for now.

How had he been? He thought of his transition to Apex, the Killik mess, the breakdown of his relationship with Amira. The last thing still caused a pang, but none of it would ever rise to the surface. Externally he gave a vague shrug, “I’m alive, which is something for a guy in my line of business,” He said with a smirk, “I know you didn’t call me here to talk about my shiny lips, so what do you want, old man? And, more importantly, how are you alive?"

The imposing human shrugged his shoulders, "Meh, I'm sure someone out there likes'em thin, kinda knife eared and cold blooded." He said with a playful smirk. Covax didn't know exactly what the Firrerreoian had been up, even before being frozen. But, he was aware the political assassin had about as much rust on his barrel as the former crime boss. So they could both use the work.

"Well, the day's still young." He quip about the alive comment. "The latter? I wish I knew. I think I owe someone a debt I'll never be able to repay." Referring to his freedom. Someone negotiated his release from the Nor'baal Desilijic. At the coast of everything he had, and possibly Doc.

"As for why you're here? Well, down the beach to the south of us is the vacation home of one Airan Haren. The former mayor of Coruscant. Bitch made it off world during the abomination invasion, despite me an a Jedi stealing her ship to escape. The contract is still open however. So, we're going to collect."

Edin actually chuckled at his explanation for getting out, but his face shifted to stoic again, “Wait, you’re serious?” He asked outright, “Who the fuck would break you out?” Edin asked without a second thought, a faint smirk on his face.

“Ahhh Haren,” The assassin said as he sipped from his drink, “Of course you pick the one with the bitch of a security detail,” He said, “You know this fucker used to work for Apex?” Edin asked. He may not have been off killing Chancellors and Sith Councilors these days, but he did keep tabs on high profile bounties. By now he had enough credits where he did it all for pleasure and no longer to feed himself.

“Why are you taking this on instead of reclaiming what you had with the Syndicates?” Edin asked, “Go become a boss and pay me a fat, steady check instead of going back to the hunting game.”

Covax raised an eyebrow, a look more of irritation then question as the other merc chuckled at his comment. The human's face then turned from irritated to, "I'm going to shoot you", at the question of his seriousness. "Truthfully? I don't know. At first I assumed it was our mutual benefactor for the Gin job." He said in reference to Emryce.

"But so far not a word. The only other person who might have that kind of pull was also killed." Referencing Doc's assassination. Now as always, the mention of her brought the vision of her amber eyes looking down at him. The memory forcing him to take a deep breath and push down his emotions.

The former Vanguard then took a long pull from his drink before moving on. "Well if it was easy I wouldn't need you Edin." He retorted with a half smile. "Didn't know the bodyguard was former Apex though, that's news." He continued. That revelation made him appreciate Edin's appearance that much more.

"You know, you ask a lot of question for a heartless cold blooded killer ?" Covax said. Amused by the probing questions. "If you must know. After Nor'baal locked away, he had slicers drain all my accounts. When the money was gone, Blackwell repo'd the armory, the droids. All of it. I woke up to nothing."

"I'll get back what's mine. Every fucking credit and then some. But I'm not a boss, I'm a trigger puller. I'll let Arla have the headache of being the boss." Covax said truthfully. He gave another slight smile and then rolled his eyes about this little heart to heart. "Anymore questions Doctor Edin, or can we start shooting some people ?"
