DESCRIPTION​

The Basilisk war droids are well known symbols of Mandalorian battle prowess. Almost always seen with an armored Mandalorian riding on its back into battle, the Basilisks are as dangerous as their riders. With the intelligence of a smart animal, the Basilisks are often known to develop close bonds with their riders.

The war droids are heavily armored and more akin to tanks than anything else. Nearly impervious to small arms fire, its armor is capable of withstanding most fire up to light laser cannons without difficulty, though its rider is exposed and far more vulnerable.

Although fairly slow when on the ground, the Basilisk has the ability to direct itself and reach high speeds while in free fall, but is unable to fly on its own, only guide and slow its descent. On the ground, it is propelled by legs that can reach approximately the same speeds as a human while sprinting.

Its armament is typically Mandalorian and lacks subtlety. Its main mode of attack is a pair of light laser cannons and a pair of rocket launchers for use against infantry and light vehicles. The large, durasteel claws on each foot can also be used to tear through armored enemies with ease.

Without a doubt, however, the most unusual weapon on the Basilisk is its cluster of plasma cannons near the nose. These are often used to tear through buildings, ship hulls, and other armored vehicles and have the damage output of 3 heavy canons in their standard mode, which is only useful for targets within 50 meters. Its secondary mode is a cutting mode that is designed to burn through starship hulls (typically 1-2 rounds required) or sawing through the base of a large building. This cutting mode is only useful within approximately 10 meters.

Restricted. The presence of these in a planetary space is considered an act of war, and their existence is outlawed by the Sith Empire.
