I gotta say Flea from the Chili Peppers..Or Jon Gallant from Billy Talent

Flea by a mile... but thats only on his ability to create catchy bass lines. The best bassist is probably Cliff Burton

I dunno man..Some of Flea's stuff takes some mad skill to do..He's got amazing rythym for such a big stoner

I know, some of it is difficult to play, Around the World took me a fair few weeks to learn and even then I couldnt get my timing right... the thing about Flea is the stuff he plays isnt exactly rocket science but you have to keep jumping up and down the fret board while trying to keep time and that is difficult.

Definately man he's pretty crazy..And listen to my kind of music and all you never hear any bassist slap ever so it's pretty cool when you see Flea get up there and do his funk shit and still be cool to everyone

slap is hard enough to do let alone when your doing it with 2 fingers on 2 strings at the same time.

I got slap and pop down pretty good I just picked that up pretty easy though like natural..But it's chromatic songs with really fast finger picking that fucks me up..Don't got good speed

But that guys just all around good..The bassist from Rage Against the Machine has some really cool stuff too though eh

I'm not a bass player but I can play bass, it's basically guitar with slap and finger picking. I'd probably say Flea but that's purely because I only know bass songs by him.
