At SDCC DC announced their line-up of upcoming animated films and the one coming out soonest (Fall 2015) is Batman: Bad Blood set in the current New 52 heavy DC Animated Movie Universe.

For the past few of these movies I normally get myself optimistically excited to normally be let down. The reason I am returning to this vicious cycle is this movie is loosely based on my favorite Batman story of all time: Battle for the Cowl.
Batman is dead (I bet he's back by the end of the movie) and the Batfamily all try to grow and adapt to fill the void in his absence. This story is already changing some things in that there is heavier involvement from Batwoman and Batwing who were not entirely present in the original story.
While I am glad to be getting SOME version of BftC I am still let down from when they tried to adapt another good Batman story (Court of Owls) and it failed pretty hard. While the premise of "Batman is dead" isn't any less flimsy as it was in the comic since we all know Bruce will be back, in Battle for the Cowl Bruce didn't return till a few years later in an entirely different story while here he will most likely be back in the ending of the film.
