As Kara's blades swept down, her opponent dodged underneath her attack, though instead of pushing the advantage he instead retreated several steps as the Jedi Master clashed blades with the Jawa's own weapon. Turning the trajectory of her attacks slightly with a flick of her wrist, the Jedi Master turned the telekinectically propelled blade down and away from her, sending the blade skittering across the ground. Turning on her heel, Kara was given pause again, faced with the decaying image of herself, consumed by the Dark Side. She smiled.
'Let me tell you what I see,' she said, her voice as calm as it had ever been as she dropped her typical stance, her hands moving down to rest by her side in a lazy, open position. 'I see someone who realized he has already lost. I see fear and desperation. I see someone questioning the strength of their superiors and their own power, when they were led to believe the Jedi were easy prey. I see someone facing a rude awakening, and I see doubt. I see someone who doesn't want to die for a cause they no longer see as faultless. I see a man without a shield, who realizes there is no escape and nowhere to hide...I see someone who fears to return home to report failure to their cruel masters.'
Kara closed her eyes for a second, breathing in deeply. 'You know who I am, obviously. Kara Vaalki, Jedi Master, former Battlemaster and now Loremaster of this temple. And I assure you, fighting me here - on this Temple I grew up in, surrounded by the Light Side of the Force and my allies, that victory for you is impossible.'
The Jedi Master then breated in deeply once more, and it seemed as though the darkness of the storm above would no longer touch her, the rain seemingly breaking in intensity as sunbeams broke through the cloudbank, filling the air with crystalline flickers of light as the sun touched the rain and reflected off the puddles and saturated surfaces of the Temple, giving an almost ethereal glow to the area. A swirl of fresh wind brought the heavy, damp smells of the nearby forests to the rooftop. Kara smiled.
'The Darkness will not prevail here, my friend. Yield, and you will be spared.'
