I thought with so many factions taking place in these threads that an OOC for Space Combat would be beneficial. Feel free to post as you wish as long as it pertains to this thread.

Since Exile Squadron will be playing a big part of the thread, I was wondering if you gaiz wanted a good dogfight. I've got a Sith pilot more than happy to oblige XD.

So I'm guessing I should wait to show up with a Rebel Star Destroyer to rek things?

Honestly, if you show up gives the star fighter squadrons something to defend. So sooner might be better than later I am also curious to what kind of forces the Imperials are bringing to the fight, space wise.

Jake is eager to launch in to space. Naboo is his home world and he would be planet side.

Well Bac's post makes it seem like he only wants Starfighters for this one, so if there's another thread that would be better suited for that, I'd rather wait until the rest are posted. If so, I'll come in with my Imp Pilot instead.

We can make a separate thread for 'big ships' to duke it out, if the Imps have anyone to command them.

To be honest, I hadn't envisioned Rebel Star Destroyers. If you're going to show up with one then a) keep it limited (the Empire's forces should far outnumber the Rebels) and b) wait a bit, so it acts as reinforcements.

That's what I figured from what you'd posted, I'll leave it out and do a post on the Imp side of things then so Cortan's not all alone.

Thanks Bac.

So, what's the gameplan so far? Exile Squadron wrecking face I get, but I guess we'll just be dogfighting? I don't mind that since I finally get to show off Alanna's dogfighting experience, but I was figuring we might have a target to go after, like one of the blockading Star Destroyers.

Description
One of the few starships manufactured by Ord Mantell StarDrives to remain in production since the rise of MandalMotors and its absorption of Kuat Drive Yards, the Devastator is very much like the ancient Acclamator-class Assault Ship in all but appearance. It is capable of atmospheric flight and is designed to land on a planet's surface to disgorge troops and vehicles. It can also perform water landings, though some modification is required prior to such operations.

The only change between the troop transport and carrier variant is the arrangement of the hangar interior and the cargo bay areas. The troop carrier variant sacrifices crew to support more troops and vehicles and has fewer weapon batteries. The carrier variant utilizes a full crew complement to support its two starfighter wings, the additional weapon batteries, and to sustain the ship during long voyages or extended military engagements.

KES would like to assist, but we need to know EXACTLY where the bulk of the Rebel fleet is, and we need to be able to insert a token force to Theed.

Keep in mind that the Rebel fleet will have been largely battered during the Skywalker mission. I envision most of it having landed and being in serious disrepair. That's why they're hiding on Naboo, instead of just going back to their bases.

Don't think of this as fleet vs fleet. Think of it more as a much smaller version of the Rebel fighter squadrons vs the Death Star. A small scale vs a much larger scale. Which is fine, because none of you can die unless you want to, so the potential to create something epic is ripe.

This. The few Rebel ships left would be the larger ones, which can't land, but they're going to be so battered that you should all probably view them as glorified starfighter hangars. They really wouldn't be able to engage in much combat directly. I envision them slowly backing away from the Imperial advance, keeping just out of reach.

Then 5 Siren-Class Frigates should be fine, right? Lol
I plan on making great use of things like the Anaconda MAC Guns. What kind of ships does the Imperium have?
