I figured we'd need this:

Current posting order:
@Wit
@Relent
@Fyston

So @Wit, I have a minor issue with your most recent post and it probably stems from just a general lack of experience. In this post, you stated that: "The Force, held within him since the moment he landed on the rooftop..."

This makes it a prepared attack as if you had been gathering the post for a round, though in your previous post you stated that: "the Force held within him to alert him of the dangers around him..." To me, this reads as if you had the Force but it was geared more towards sensing incoming danger as opposed to gathering energy for an attack.

While I know you can't attack in your first turn, I'm not sure if you can gather energy like that your first turn so please forgive me. That said, a prepared vs unprepared attack is a fairly big difference and I want to figure out what's going on before little confusions become big kerfluffles.

That's a valid point, let me get back home and re-read what I'd written and try to clear it up.

@Fyston I edited so that he started gathering the Force for the attack from the point the Jedi arrived, basically just this round. First round wouldn't have counted for an attack anyways so this fixes it both ways. Sorry for the confusion, didn't realize the mixup when I posted. :)

hey fy i think you have a little mess up in your timing your latest post.

at the beginning of your post you have Kaizer see the incoming bolts from both Cami and Ral, which is fine at this point bc they're coming at the same time. Then you have Kaizer dodge a bit, turn to aim, and fire more shots as he then sees Cami in her slide.

this is where the timeline gets a little messed bc Cami's shots were fired during her slide and she came up out of it directly after. so by the time Kaizer would see the shots, react, turn, and fire again she'd already have been up on her feet.

at least that is my interpretation of the timeline. thoughts?

@Relent the way I movie-maker'd it in my mind was that Cami slides and that it's at the beginning of her slide that these shots are fired.

While I've never done a baseball slide (only played a year of baseball), I can imagine that it takes a bit of time. Conversely, in your last post you mentioned that: "She would do this while covering the first five meters of distance between her and Kaizer." 5m run becomes a slide but in your most recent post you wrote: "She was still about three or four meters from Kaizer when she rose."

Given that, prior to your run, the chars were 15m apart, the 5m run turned into a 11-12m slide and even with a bit of snow to speed things along, I'd feel that you'd slow down at some point, giving me the time needed to shoot. With Wit's interrupt not allowing me to shoot at him, I also believe that it wouldn't take much time to aim/fire at Cami given that she's probably right in front of Kaizer.

Should we make a map? I feel that we're about to start dancing so having a map might be nice if we all agree on it.

your average baseball slide is usually about 10-12 feet or so and you do it in a couple seconds. so if we extrapolate that to meters, it'd probably take her 8? or less seconds to slide 11m.

my reasoning is that its this speed with cotton pants onto dirt, and this is metal armor sliding on slick duracrete so i think the speed would remain somewhat constant

so if we agree the shots are at the beginning, im not sure he could see them, move, aim, shoot (with the accuracy he's attempting) in 8 seconds.

really im fine w/ everything, but i think that cami would be on her feet by the time the first of Kaizer's shots are fired. (and they'd be roughly 4m away from eachother)

That speed is fair, the only sliding I've done is in rugby and you get stopped pretty quickly so I appreciate the numbers.

I'll disagree that it can't be done (even though it's not really being contested in this point so I apologize for being a butthole) because moving/aiming can happen at the same time and it wouldn't take much of an adjustment from one shot to the next, especially at that distance.

I just want it on record that I had clarification written out for an argument that you didn't even make because I misread it.

Now that I've reread your position, I'm gonna hold that it's possible for Kaizer to identify the threat (it's bright beams of light that murder people, I'd avoid Voldemort for the same reason), move/aim, and then fire, particularly if she's getting closer. While part of that 8 seconds would be eaten up by not getting shot, shooting after that would probably match the timing of her standing up into the bolts as described in my post. Especially with her standing 4m away from Kaizer, aiming doesn't take that long and the blaster bolts would probably be too fast for her to dodge/block at such a distance.

@TheBrokenMadMan will you be editing your post as per the questions in the help desk? Asking here as I'd like to request a pause on the clock while that's done or at least an extension because my post would depend on it.

@Phoenix @GABA requesting a clock pause/extension.

How long of an extension are you requesting?

Are you there @Relent, it's me, Margaret.

I figured I'd do this while it's on my mind, though it's been about 24hrs since I slept so bear with me if I'm incoherent, I'll take a nap after this, I promise.

It is my opinion that Cami would be unable to block three of the four shots. I've found a fairly creepy model and have drawn 4 black circles to make it easier to see whereabouts the shots would be landing.

https://imgur.com/MwPIZGE (Anatomy thing)

To begin, I stated in my last post that: "His shots would be occurring at the same time that Rainea's attack was progressing" and it is my belief that, while she can definitely see the shot be redirected, doing so would likely result in her being shot anyway because she's doing the slide while noticing Kaizer's attempt to shoot her. That's pretty easy because they're right in front of each other (at least in my head) but she also sees, out of her peripheral vision, Ral deflect that bolt towards Kaizer. Below I have drawn a very crude estimation of a map. Blue = Jedi (crossed out is Rainea), Red = Exiles (except after taking a few steps, I guess Ral turned Jedi-ish during those few steps) with updates based on the movement I can recall off the top of my head. I've tried to keep it easy to understand but I may have failed. The point being that, unless Cami is a horse with eyes on both sides of her head, it would be nearly impossible for her to see Ral's deflection while Kaizer is shooting. Plus, given what I quoted above, there would be a slight delay as Rainea shoots towards Ral, the bolts make it to him, he deflects, and the bolts make it close to Kaizer's position, making it even harder for Cami to use that information to her benefit.

I almost forgot to link this: https://i.imgur.com/y5CbYaj.jpg (Map thing)

I guess that part doesn't matter as much as the whole 3/4 shots thing. So based on the above weird anatomy figure, Cami is being targeted by an aggressive rhombus of blaster bolts. At 3-4m, I would argue that she doesn't have the time needed to do the sweep and block those three bolts. My evidence here is that in your last post you stated that: "Cami held her lightsaber tightly. Its blade was angled in front of her body..." Plus, with these shots occurring as Cami is using the Force Push, she's obviously gonna be a tad distracted with that and lightsaber positioning during her slide and as she's coming up/using the Force isn't really mentioned, though it's too late to cry about spilled milk. In addition, she has to accurately identify what part of her body is being targeted and come up with a plan to stop it. Obviously, she doesn't have to draw up a formal request, send out billing estimates, etc, but it would likely take a bit more time given her concentrating on that push.

Assuming that, as she comes up, she brings her lightsaber into that position (and I guess I should have asked where the tip is pointing, oh well, that's my bad), with everything else going on she would probably be able to block two bolts in my opinion. If it was angled in front of her, she would have to drop her blade's angle to intercept the thigh bolt and then bring it right back up to block that umbilicus and shoulder shot. Furthermore, rotating your arm/wrist like that in order to block said thigh bolt would take some time, as would bringing it back up to block the other bolts. Plus, the umbilicus can be an awkward angle to defend anyways because it's essentially the middle of everything, though that's more a sideline random thought than me positing that.

As for the dual-phase thing having an effect on it, I honestly don't see where it would. IIRC, a lightsaber blade is over a meter long already, plenty of space to deflect some bolts. I feel like it'd be more of a pain in the ass to activate the dual phase blade like that because it'd be going way over your head and that's a big risk given it's a laser sword.

All in all, I feel it's reasonable to block two of the shots in time but that she would be incapacitated due to the extremely close range, her concentration being focused on the Force attack (prepping and using), and her lightsaber positioning in general. Obviously I have to go have a juice box and go night night but I will be up in a few hours so that, hopefully, we can come to an agreement without having to get a ruling (not that there's anything wrong with that). It won't be the first time I've made a ranting post after work and been found to been wrong xD. Plus, if need be, I can always request an extension.

Anyway, for those who survive this massive wall of text, I salute you.
