Stop Right There!
A sparkling swirl of blues and greens, Thyferra is the beautiful gem responsible for supplying bacta to most of the galaxy. As named by Darth Solum, Thyferra is the next world which will pay for the treachery and cowardice of Supreme Chancellor Rhone. Yet again the pathetic Jedi Order and the necrotic Republic were unable to defend their own assets, and the people of Thyferra will pay for the sins of their corrupt leaders. Burn Thyferra to the ground, and let the surrounding systems cower in fear. We are dispatching you to the capital city of Xozhixi to secure the city for us. Patrol the streets and surrounding buildings for suspicious Republic activity.

Our Sith agent, Ayindri Za'til, has been dispatched to the city to ensure it falls into the hands of the Brotherhood! The city is composed of several small islands. The streets are short and narrow and are lined with tropical vegetation. The eastern portion of the city has entire islets covered in trees and brush, granting considerable coverage.

A wonderful night out for the attempt at burning the city and planet to the ground. As hilarious as that would be considering they were on an Islandal chain surrounded by water and tropical forests. Storm clouds hung low overhead with a light sprinkle of rain starting to patter down onto the ground around them. Thunder and lightning would be a ways off though for the time being as the tropical storm began to build up power. The Republic had gotten word that there would be an attack on this locale and so the local Garrison had been deployed with defensive emplacements set up throughout the city. Repeating Blaster Cannons mounted on tripods behind armoured barriers to protect against incoming blaster fire, were set up at the entrances and exits of the city in two by two formations with crossfire potential in case someone decided to try and get sneaky with ambushing from the tropical forests or the docks. These were set up at intersections or points of interest that would need significant protection.

Khalen had been dispatched to this city to help and employ his skills for the defence of this wonderful location. He was in the MMCA armour of his and an elegant but easily removeable coat to conceal it and the gear he carried underneath which was his standard loadout. Though the Trianii had gone with something new this time around. A Sonic Rifle. Something new and more entertaining than just his carbine to toy with. Not only did they make a horrific sound when you get hit by them, they also had some nasty impact force behind the focused sound that audio protection didn't give. Though he did have a set of AFM's hooked into his radio kit just in case and plugged in so if someone wanted to scream loudly at him he'd be fine.

Khalen's patrol route was along the Cities boardwalk that ran the outskirts. On his left he had the various closed down stores with moderate spacing in lighting that gave it a very dim effect and anyone without good night vision would have a hard time picking out any details outside of the silhouettes of the personnel that walked the boardwalk. Khalen himself had good night vision and used it to his advantage, being able to pick out motion ahead of him and his ears picking out the various sounds that came from behind and around. He was alert, along with the six soldiers that were with him along this patrol route. A sniper, medic, two heavy weapons and two assault units with XPCs. It was going to be an interesting time indeed. Dotted around this wide boardwalk were tables, chairs and railings for some of the cafes that were at the time closed. He noted to his right the ocean was still fairly calm even if it was roughly a hundred and forty feet away with sandy beach and then the boardwalk on approach.

The final ferry of the day docked, the ferryman on duty had to be cajoled, wheedled and bought off to bring her here. Her clothing was nondescript, long-sleeved and vested. Suited for working among the jungles and shores when the night time chill would take to the air. It also afforded for her UAI-19 Armor, modded for her elfin physique to go unnoticed amidst the clothing she wore. Yet unlike her normal inhuman appearance, carmine skin, and bony ridges for eyebrows she sported the guise of a human female. Tanned of skin from working long days in the sun, eye ridges replaced with eyebrows. Even her once delicately pointed, and sharp teeth were capped and human. Eyes once the color of gold now appearing more of a honeyed brown. Her black hair was tied back in a ponytail held in place by a thong of leather strips now beginning to mat and stick to her back and face thanks to the rain. At least the stink of sweat and earthy musk of one who worked among plants did not annoy her as much as it would have.

The rank void of the Dark Side presence quelled to that of a non-Force User. Sith Alchemy had seen to her appearance, her magic had done the same for her aura.

It was not uncommon for workers to come and go nightly. Yet upon the eve of an invasion, it was the overworked, underpaid or desperate who would be out and not within the safety of their homes. Effecting a harried appearance, slender lips pressed thin; eyes downcast as hands clad in leather gloves clung to the nerf-hide strap of a satchel bobbing at the narrow waist, Mori Sato, as the ID badge held in place with a fine aluminum clasp on the lapel of her vest stated. Just below the name, and picture was the Xucphra Corp name, logo and job title (Senior Xenobotanist/Chemist) their intelligence operatives had provided and inserted into the company's record databases several months in advance. The satchel rattled and clinked, bottles and vials of toughened glass filled with various substances made their noises along with the deeper and dulled chink of a multitude of devices both within the bag and about the belt around her waist, of which components of her lightsaber were secreted about and within the various innocuous devices, each playing a suitable role for said device's function. Even the hilt had been purposed as a weathered looking short-bladed knife useful for working in the jungles. All just in case she needed the thing.

The young, seemingly human woman bounced along, zig-zagging past benches, signage and various receptacles on the boardwalk. Checking the Chrono upon her wrist, 'Mori' let loose a muttered oath. All part of her guise. Her troops were just hidden just off the coast within a series of non-reflective, matte black boats, each carrying members of the Legion, and troops taken from her own holdings upon Desevro. They'd inched their way from one of the neighboring island staging points. Each also held several proton mortars, and other weapons of war suited for the upcoming task. None of them thought it would be easy to take the capital. Not with a localized garrison so close at hand. As it stood, Imperial forces were dotted around the island; waiting for the signal to from their leader to initiate a multi-pronged assault.

Face beginning to glisten from the drizzle, 'Mori' scuttled along to stand beneath a large parasol shivering a little in her work stained attire.

Khalen spied the woman darting around the benches and various parts of the boardwalk, he signalled for two of his soldiers to intercept the girl. While there was no suspicion of who or what she was, Khalen knew the desperate would be out and about even at night. Though with the tropical storm brewing, the seas becoming rougher and the swell becoming nasty most people would want to stay in doors for fear of being soaked. These guys were regular goons really, simple kit and would approach with their weapons not at the ready "Ma'am! You really shouldn't be out here." One would call out. "A storm is coming in."

Khalen stood off with the rest, a hand coming up to his helmet. Sensor networks from the local Garrison picked up on movement in the water around the island. "Have the A-wings do a fly over and confirm. Sensor sweeps and visual. If in doubt, shoot it." The weapons of war from the local garrison were similar to that of the Sith, though with a little aerial help for the time being. Though if the storm intensified and hit, they'd not have much of a leg to work with. Proton Mortars, blasters galore and the heavy weapon emplacements. Though as Khalen noted any mortars used would be like sending flies into the wind and hoping you hit something. Khalen frowned, he checked his Datapad and got a weather update from the local station. They had about an hour before the storm intensified and made land fall. So far, it was only a light tropical storm. High winds, lots of rain, some thunder but nothing you would be to terrified about.

@Intratec Sorry about the short post. Was half braindead with it x3

Standing as she was under the Parasol, Mori had been looking out over the water toward the encroaching storm. She'd come from that direction, there was a decent landmass out across the normally tranquil water. Covered in dense jungle foliage rife with all manner of flora and fauna. Peaceful or Dangerous, subtle and overt. So to say she was surprised, her attention seemingly elsewhere, the squawk of alarm at the two grunts' calling. Whipping around, hands still clutched firmly on the leather satchel. "Wh-What?! O-Oh! Yes, Yes. I only just arrived," she peered over her shoulder once more at the roiling black clouds and distant lightning strikes.

Appearing sheepish, "The local communication net does not reach very far out there in the camp due to the dense foliage. I only just got the warning half an hour past about this storm. But I can't stay here," clutching the satchel, her eyes twinkled, then went out like blown candles at finally seeing the pair for what they were. "What's going on?" she trilled, "Please tell me I can get my work to my lab in the city." huffing now, she looked to the Chrono on her wrist, blinked and pressed its illumination button. Nothing winked on and she flicked her wrist once, then twice, pressing it again. The seemingly faulty device blinkered to life and showed the local time. "I did not have time to properly stabilize my samples, and I must see they are put in stasis lest they become unusable. This work may well be a major breakthrough for the medical industry."

Taking a step to one side, the bookish woman caught sight of the heavy ordinance and barricades. Lips forming a little 'O' of shock, "Oh dear. . ." looking back to the pair then, "S-Something else is happening isn't there? Not just the storm?" fretting now.

The Soldiers would nod slowly "All civilians were informed to stay indoors, within their homes Ma'am." The soldier replies. "You will be unable to return to your lab, however an escort will be provided for you to get back into the city." He'd say. The soldiers noted the bookish woman and how she was one of those and.. somewhat nerd-ish types. Least she wasn't hysterical. Those kinds of scientists were the worst to deal with. "Cannot tell you any more." He'd add.

Khalen observed the discussion from afar whilst listening to the Commss. Their people were finished with setting up and now they had managed to make sure everything was clamped down and locked into place so if the winds DID pick up and it got cyclonic in nature. They weren't going to have a bad time with weapons and other things suddenly becoming windy projectiles and taking out buildings. "I'll take her home. I'm heading into the city soon anyway." He'd pipe up. The large cat adjusting his coat a little as rain began to pick up a little bit. More like a light shower or a sprinkle.

The scientist just bobbed her head as the soldiers spoke. That, however, did not deter the look of skepticism. Soldiers out in the open cordoning the area off? With heavy weaponry? Why. . . it was almost as if they were planning to repel an invasion! Oh, how she wanted to sneer. To laugh, and flay every one of them to the bone. Yet she did none of those things. The look of consternation seeming to grow as the soldiers finished. At the last, Mori seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. Escorted into the city. Well. That was not so bad.

"T-Thank you. I have a small laboratory set up near here at the hostel for us scientists. More of a hobbyist's than anything too terribly complex. But it should work long enough for me to get back to the labs at Xucphra Corporation's offices within the city after this dreadful storm passes." she peered at the drizzle coming down, it almost reminded her of a light fog. Not heavy droplets, but more of a mist. Reaching into her satchel, the woman brought forth a collapsible umbrella, seemingly ready to be under way. She wore a nervous little smile as her gaze settled back onto the two men. "Thank you for your help," thanking them before staring mouth agape at the towering furred beast. Did it just speak?

Clearing her throat, and appearing rather abashed at the effect the Trianii had, had on her. Among the Empire, she had seen towering figures. Massassi of the same size, rippling with muscle. Or the leader of the Empire, Kyuss Thaun, four-armed and towering. Fumbling with the umbrella a little, Mori finally got it to extend; popping open as she scooted out from under the safety of the large parasol. Umbrella held aloft, she blinked those large honey-brown eyes at Khalen, politely waiting.

They hadn't cordoned off just this area, the entirety of the city had been placed under active watch and this was just one small part of it. Khalen examined her as she spoke to him and his fellow soldiers, there was something off about her. The way she was behaving around him was just.. a little off. He'd note the waif of a woman, her slender form and the way she moved about, the body language was all wrong. "Lets get going." He'd comment. Ushering her ahead so she was but a few steps ahead and in his line of sight.

"The Hostel? I wasn't aware that they cheapened up to stuff you lot in the Hostel rather than private apartments." He'd comment lightly. She was calm, to calm for a scientist. The amount of heavy weapons, armed patrols and the way the storm was rolling in would have most, if not all home grown scientists on edge or even actively afraid and it would show in the body language. None of it he could see or read from the woman. The Trianii kept his own visible emotions active with a swagger and a casual walk of a man who was only half paying attention to things around him and to be quite fair, very few would ever really pick up on the front unless they had spent a good, long time around aliens like Khalen and were good at seeing through such fronts. He decided to test something and would speak up, keeping her in his sight. He'd move his left hand up to the side of his ear where the comm was. "Astar reporting in. On my way back. I'll be making a detour to the Hostel..." He'd pause a moment timing it for another communication to come through. "Yeah? Alright. I'll let them know, which shelter are they to be taken to?"

His attention never left her, even if it looked like his eyes were away for a few moments he could still see her in a good part of his vision and with his excellent hearing coming into play there'd be little to no reason he'd not catch anything she would do. "Alright, so due to the incoming storm and other suspect problems coming in tonight. The Hostel has been declared unsafe for those inside due to its age and I'll be taking you to a shelter." He'd subtly pay attention to her reaction. Though another actual communication would come through the ear piece, naturally only he could hear it due to the position of the headset. "Sir we got boats. Lots of boats along the east side. Looks like someone trying to get close." Khalen having kept his hand up against the headset whilst waiting for his reply from 'command' would double tap it very lightly with his finger the signal to light them up. "We'll be taking you to the Shelter Designated Light-House." He'd say, lowering his left hand. The right hand never once straying from his weapon.

The pitter patter of the gentle rain had not seemed to soothe anyone's nerves. Most assuredly even the scientists. She looked over a shoulder at the towering feline, face a little scrunched up in puzzlement. She let forth a yelp, almost slipping; catching herself clumsily. "For those of us who w-work out of the city, like me, we are usually away for weeks or months at a time. It just isn't 'cost-effective' for those of us who travel they say." with a little sniffle, she rooted in the satchel once more and pulled a handkerchief out to wipe at her brow. Rain sucked, period. She sniffled again, wiping her nose next before tucking the handkerchief away. She walked at a brisk (for her) pace, seeming intent on getting to her destination with any sort of alacrity one could muster in dismal weather.

Mori made to glance over her shoulder again, lips parting to speak as her look appeared no less urgent than it had before. "We had better hurry my sa-" cut off, the dainty woman seemed to not have heard Khalen speak. Or simply had not registered it. She blinked several times, a look of dawning crossing her features before a horrified look marred it. "W-What?! I can't! I have to get to the Hostel!" ramming a hand into the satchel, the clink of bottles, other equipment seemed to be dwarfed by the book-sized slab of gray she hefted out. A small block of Carbonite, devices upon the block blinked yellow and red. "This! I have to get this stable!" showing it to him as the look of horror turned to urgency. As she said this, a small chunk flaked off the bottom setting her off further with a 'Fwaha!' of panic.

"This block contains samples of a cross-hybridization of Xoorzi and Bota that I was able to grow! Bota, grown off Drongar is incredibly rare. Only a few planets in the whole galaxy can grow this unique plant. And I managed to grow this sample by crossing it with a fungus used to make Alazhi bacterium." shaking slightly, like a tender babe, she placed it back carefully in the satchel. Turning about, she began walking with a more defiant, if hurried stride, "And if I cannot get to that Hostel or my lab it will become useless! The Carbonite is unstable enough already. If it fails completely, it may destroy the sample at worst. Or release the Hybrid and it sheds its spores then withers and dies!" she flailed the umbrella about while gesticulating.

"Imagine it! Bacta mediums that could quite possibly strengthen the connection to the Force when injected! As well as heal. The Force! If I can only get it stable long enough. . ." her energetic outburst puttering out at the very last. She sniffled again while turning about to face the towering soldier. The look of pleading plain as day, she made to step toward him, to beg if she had to. But refrained, with a deep breath, something to calm, or to steel one's self she spoke again, face screwing up into pitiful frustration, "Please, whatever your name is, if I don't get this hooked up to a proper carbonite freezing apparatus months of research, of work, of my life will have been wasted. . ."

The last seemed to put her out, to throw him off-guard, now staring at the wet street. Within the next instant, the seemingly puttered out young woman snapped her free hand forth. Fingers splayed, a surge of eldritch green Lightning bucked from the hand toward the Trianii!

Just as the seemingly nerdy Mori began her own attack once past the barricades and militiamen, her forces attacked. The Chrono, not defective, but a cleverly disguised signaling device had blinked several times once she'd pressed the illuminator button before. Seemingly innocuous, it had been the signal that they would attack within minutes. That time had passed. And now Proton Mortars arched like reddish-white stars from all directions. Not just the eastern coast where she'd come from. But from all docking points around the island's landmass. A simultaneous, coordinated assault. Her soldiers fired salvo after salvo, but not of just mortars, they also had carried a number of other weapons. Among them anti-vehicular concussion missile launchers. The Sith had known that Thyferra would not fall easily from just a ground assault, that the Republic would employ not only its fleets. But also air-power. Enter the launchers. Whatever fighter craft that made a pass at them would be in for a nasty surprise until the Imperial forces could sweep in, and engage.

While some hung back, continuing their fire, others had begun to streak toward the beaches, blaster cannons and smaller-scale anti-personnel missiles making for the entrenched positions to soften them up before landfall just as the Mortar teams continued the barrage for the same reasons.

@Krajin

OOC: Btw bro, I re-read my earlier post. There were boast all over the coast of the island. Not just the East. So we could totes roll with that, and have it come as a surprise that other sectors are coming under attack.

He listened to her rant along about her rather odd creation, the Carbonite unit that was defective or so it seemed. He noted the way she portrayed herself, it was decent but there was something clear behind it that he couldn't quite pick up on just yet. As she showed the block, with the chunk of the metal flopping off and hitting the ground the Trianii backed up a bit to give him some space away from the potentially bio-contaminant that was there. When she turned again to plead with him his eyes narrowed on her, he'd been on edge all night and now it paid off. Her mentioning the strengthening connection to the force through the introduction of this Bacta creation was what finally sealed the deal.

With startlingly fast feline reflexes as that hand shot out and up, the blue glow of the Lightning forming on her finger tips and arcing out caused him to duck to the left with the rather angry lightning just missing his body with all that fur standing on end from just how close it came, simultaneously his right arm would raise up and fire off a powerful jet of fire at the woman. The aim coming from the low angle of his arm allowing the wide reaching cone, which she was well within range of, to potentially engulf her midsection and upper body. The rain as light as it was wouldn't provide much protection from the fire either.

He'd continue to move though to the right, aiming to get a touch of distance between them!

The troops however, placed around the island in their defences, bunkers and other similar set ups would find themselves under attack and react accordingly. Unlike the enemy, they had stable land to return fire from and would do so with Blaster Cannon, Mortar and Missile. The enemy would have to contend with the rough swells and the winds throwing their aim off. The A-wings would fly in at high speeds and deliver rapid strafing runs from various, unpredictable angles that would make using those man portable concussion missile launchers difficult at best. It wouldn't be as nasty of a surprise as one would expect. Though the defenders did have to contend with the same winds throwing their aim off as well, add to that the explosions around them it would put them at a relatively even footing.

OOC: I never said that they'd been focused on the east side x3 So the surprise wouldn't be as surprising as you might expect. For now I think we can focus on our battle yeah? :3 @Intratec TAG! :D

The once plucky, bookish scientist let forth a chortle of pleasure as the tall feline managed to just dodge the lightning. She'd managed to make his fur stand on end, and that was in and of itself mildly entertaining. Yet the onrush of flame which erupted from her opponent, she used the umbrella of all things to shield herself for the split second the fabric would grant her. Instead of dodging, or jumping away the young woman made to crouch with a bellow of power on her lips. Just as the wet sheen of fabric burned away; the fires coming to consume their intended target, they would balloon outward as a Telekinetic Repulsion rippled across the area. Growing, and moving quickly from the central point (Mori). The lingering heat was enough to wilt the fringes of her hair, but not enough to fry her. It had took but an instant, one which had bought another precious few seconds.

Springing backward from the crouch at just a short distance, his opponent would then thrust a hand into the satchel while eyes tracked the swift alien. What she brought out was a vial of some sort of smokey blue liquid. With the practiced grace of a knife-thrower, the vial left her grasp to speed toward Khalen. Undoubtedly dangerous, whatever it once was, the next instant a shock of Lightning struck the glass, shattering it and igniting its contents. A blue fireball of an explosion would erupt however close it had come to her enemy.

Yet despite the explosive force causing a hellish booming racket, she heard the sound of blaster fire. Not dividing her attention to marvel at the invasion getting underway, however. Hands-free, she raised one, as if to lob another blast of Telekinetic power. Yet instead, nothing seemed to happen. No, it was a barrier. Unnoticeable save for the sprinkling rain dripping all around to give a good idea of its shape. A half sphere.

Undeterred, the invasion force continued to make their approach. Mortar fire from the island missing its mark as the boats moved swiftly, if bouncily across the roiling ocean. Their own blaster cannons would open up, spraying fire somewhat wildly down range thanks to the swells, as anti-personnel rockets streaked toward the entrenched positions. Those boats that had stayed back; continuing to lob their mortars released a flurry of anti-vehicular concussion missiles to give the A-Wings something to think about at having a target lock. Yet the Imperial forces did not go without casualties, a few of the boats, those that had been reported along the eastern coast had fireballed from the fighter's laser cannon fire.

The repulse of fire dissipated the flames outwards and away from the woman, Khalen was well protected enough from the remnants of the flames that they simply blew by warming his armour. A quick flick of the rifle around his back the Trianii kept his focus on the woman as she removed a bottle from her satchel. He knew she was a Sith and now knew what sort she was. A sorceress. His entire body poised ready to go and as soon as she threw it, he'd activate the repulsor boots and jet off towards the left as the blast of lightning fired out and struck the bottle. Causing the rather decent sized fireball to erupt and engulf a poor tree.

Without skipping a beat Khalen drew both of his Lightsabers and ran for her, the two bright blades active and glowing, sizzling away as they came into contact with the rain. As soon as the first blade swung for the woman's right side it'd hit the barrier. Khalen noting the barrier kept the blade under pressure there, with his left blade ready to defend from anything that came from her. She'd have to focus a great deal just to keep this barrier up and active to survive contact with the Lightsaber and not get her a severance package she wouldn't want, after all the blade was at a horizontal angle high enough that if the barrier broke, it'd slice on through and take out her legs if she was standing or carve through her torso.

OOC: Just an FYI, you haven't stated what exactly she is carrying in that satchel in terms of her Sith Alchemy tricks, as well as how many of them. Which may limit what you can do with them and what you can employ.

The tree didn't have to be in the line of fire (Literally) yet it had fallen prey to the blue-white fireball all the same as Khalen utilized his boots to avoid the attack. She did not feel any sympathy for the shrubbery. Who would? Yet when the Lightsaber made contact with the invisible field of the Force, part of it ignited to the color of his blade. It rippled as if a stone had been thrown into the still waters of a pond, but it held firm. Firm as her resolve, she would hold her ground. As a Sorceress, nay, an Arcanist, her might with the Force surpassed that of the average Warrior or Knight. The strain was there of course, but whatever assumptions the towering Trianii had made were somewhat inaccurate. While he tried to batter down her barrier, brute force against iron-clad will she took the initiative.

Taking in the scene with a glance, she figured he would come in with a horizontal sweep, likely to sever her legs or even her midriff. The other blade was held in a defensive posture, ready for whatever trickery she may unleash. But what would happen was not trickery, but a show of power. Of raw ability. The mocking laughter of before seemed to quaver in her chest, threatening to erupt. A simple tactic to irritate, and to disrupt focus. No. She kept the smirk from before however. Her posture having remained unchanged, nothing to really betray what was to come. And it would happen within a heartbeat. The barrier did not begin to diminish as he may have hoped, or break as he had assumed. But instead expanded with alacrity. Her hemispherical protective barricade expanding as if she'd taken a quick breath. The lightsaber blade would, naturally would either continue its course only to be pushed further away or begin to diminish itself to its hilt at the rapid expansion. What happened to the other, considering how it may have been held was open for interpretation.

The fact remained, however, considering the distance between them, there was an increased chance he may very well be smacked hard by the oncoming field.

Khalen was aware of the barrier and as she decided to start expanding it, he would move back whilst keeping his first blade in contact with the barrier. Nobody, no matter how powerful could keep up holding a lightsaber for long. After all, only a very rare few in history had been able to catch and hold a Lightsaber blade with Tutaminus and that took a great deal of concentration to pull off. The Trianii was far from caught off guard though or even irritated as the woman kept a smug smirk on her face or laugh, a calm mind kept him in play here and it was almost unshakeable. The barrier however only expanded a few feet for him so it didn't take much to keep himself near it, with the Lightsaber blade stuck to it like he was about to melt through a thick durasteel blast door.

In the end, it was inevitable that the barrier would fall and this woman was expending more of her own constitution to work her tricks. Khalen on the other hand had not even expended much effort on his end to keep this up. The second blade was held in a reverse grip and ready to defend still, making sure the blade wouldn't be sticking and poking him.

She hadn't cared a wit if the smirk did anything to ruffle someone's jimmies. It was there out of the exhilaration, the sweet rush of adrenaline one achieved whilst in the midst of battle. Overhead, the battle was joined by Imperial fighter craft. Evidently either some had gotten through, or the Militia was doing poorly in space. The characteristic scream of their engines highlighting the droning hum and crackle of a lightsaber trying to gnaw in futility at her barrier. With the clouded sky thrumming with oncoming thunder, and the squelching shriek of laser cannons of overhead fighters engaged in dogfighting, it would allow pressure to be taken off of her troops.

Enough so that on a nearby island a large dropship deposited its payload. A heavily armored six-legged walker. Secure communication between Imperial forces on the world had finally been established now that the time for subtly was long passed. Even as the boats sped toward the beach, rocket and blaster fire raining down from both sides of the conflict as the troop boats drew ever closer, the walker deployed its platoon to secure itself as it swiveled the large-bore cannon toward the closest of the enemy fortifications. Durasteel stabilizers sunk into the earth, the trunk-like legs holding the mechanized terror aloft as a blue-white flash issued from its muzzle as a baradium-laced shell was spat out to streak toward the Garrison's beach-side fortifications.

The cannon's crackling report was like a thunderclap all its own.

Mori could not help but laugh as an Imperial fighter streaked by overhead. Fires had bloomed from the firefight between Militia, and Imperial forces. The fires were reflected in those honeyed brown eyes. Yet she stifled the laughter early on to a pout, then puckering of her lips with a 'Tut Tut' of admonishment. Dropping her hand did not necessarily drop the barrier, keeping it aloft was a simple habit when it was more of a contest of wills in keeping the shield erect. She looked. . . pleased. No frustration, consternation, or even worry. Just the look of one who appeared to have done 'good' with something.

She lifted both arms, and shrugged with a 'What can you do?' look, "And that, furball would be my reinforcements from orbit." she cooed, "By now several hundred Imperial Troopers will have begun to land at various points within the city while your outer defenses are pressed by boats and that lovely cannon of ours. Soon, those poor souls will be fighting within and out, pressed to death by Imperial might." as if to punctuate the point, another flash and crack issued forth, the first shell having exploded with a loud 'Whump!'. The strain of maintaining the enlarged barrier was beginning to mount, and like a breath, it contracted more to its former size. But it had done its job. Got him to back off just enough. From where he was standing, he could, of course, maintain a clear view of her. Yet her own eyes had never left him. Just as he was able to see around her periphery, so did she see around his. Detritus, chairs, tables, trash bins. All in their place, it was as if the city's inhabitants had disappeared mid-day or night and left everything as it was.

Eyes still upon him, the barrier maintained, 'Mori' let a trickle of her concentration slide to something else. A heavy wooden chair outside of a shop, perhaps at a thirty, to forty-five-degree angle behind the towering alien feline. She waited to lift it, waited for th-ah, and there it was. Another screaming fighter craft in hot pursuit of an Imperial fighter screeched by, timing the sound with her lifting of the impromptu battering ram, and send it hurtling toward the soldier. Once under its own momentum, she released her hold on it and returned it to the barrier with one caveat. It was no longer a hemisphere, but half of that. Curving up and away as it had before, the illusion of its maintained integrity was plain to one looking. But she had severed half of it to conserve energy as she sprung backward once more; dropping the protective screen before manifesting a strong telekinetic wave. Attacked from two sides, she almost wondered what he would do. Would he notice the hurtling chair? Or shield himself from the wave of kinetic force? Dodge it? Slice the chair? The Sith could've bounced with anticipation.

Of course, the woman had managed to get him far enough away that he'd begin advancing. However the screaming of the ships, the massive cannon all of it a sensory overload. How the sith woman somehow managed this to keep her focus and employ multiple tricks in any sort of manner that was still coherent was amazing. The chair would first hit though, it was heavy, wooden and whilst she didn't maintain the kinetic force behind it. It still packed enough punch to send him stumbling. The armour absorbed the majority of the impact however, this made him stumble though, his large frame though not being shot to the floor. The kinetic thrust that she projected out would send him flying backwards. He'd land, get up and would noting that yes, they'd be getting crushed by the assault. Would evacuate with the rest of them.

Taking off on repulsor boots!
