As the town hall meeting drew to a close, Victor Reeks was making final statements in regards to the hostile occupancy of Taris by true Sith. The man was not a fan of the Empire and while many of his friends and associates had secretly conspired against the local Taris government, Victor stood loyal to the bureaucrats that had empowered him. Audience members soon scattered outside as Victor prepared to make his exit towards the back doors of the auditorium, coming out onto the secluded rear passage that was poorly lit and without much surveillance. He did have his two bodyguards with him, afterall, he knew he had a mark on his back just never understood the sheer ramifications of it. As the trio walked, a sudden chill in the air would surprise them and sweep against their skins to slowly raise the hairs nestled on their necks. Lamposts through the area momentarily dimmed as the wail of torture soul echoed through the region.

20 meters away, stood two shadowy figures. The Crusader Arianna Marris had long planned to intercept his path, intel she received when she brokered an allegiance with Taris' undercity. Red saber suddenly sprang to life, giving the darkly lighted street an unnatural yet ghastly glow.

Arianna Marris had decided to bring a new acolyte on this mission as she was interested in seeing the Zabrak's combat skills in play.

Walking beside a live and non hostile Crusader, at least toward herself, was a bit of a new experience to the young medical student. There was no fear, however for unlike Master Sorresh and Bennis Zarr there was no question about the loyalty of Arianna Marris. It was a good thing because tonight could very well have had a completely different twist. It had taken the combined efforts of Tarsus and herself to defeat those traitors, and that was after they had been injured by other means. Any conflict between herself and Arianna could only have one result.

Tonight’s escapade would be more to the career she had been initiated; interrogation. Oh yes, she was just the medic on hand to keep the prisoner alive so that Tarsus might peel away the convoluted layers over the truths he sought. It was dispassionate work, though needful as it was. She considered it good clinical experience toward her doctorate. Though in truth it was little more than combat medicine and she yearned for so much more than stopping blood loss, shock, and necrosis. Anyway, such work did provide fresh cadavers which saved her a ton of creds.

She had been surprised about how much of interrogation was theatrics. The things you could make a person give up just through their own imagination was staggering at times. It was slightly worrisome though, so much weakness in the Empire. Of course that was just at the level of power she and her partner employed. Her eyes went to the Crusader as they waited in the darkened streets. With the right power though, one would avoid the gore and just pluck the information directly from the mind.

Setting her sights to the task at hand it was not long before their target emerged from his temporary refuge. Did he even suspect that tonight he would pay with everything he was? Arianna ignited her light saber and Doz was soon to follow suit as she separated herself from the Crusader’s shadow. She preferred to have space to work and as the duel blades of light came to light, she noted their collective glow hit home on the trio before them in the worst way.

They were everyone’s worst nightmare.

The men were expecting to lead quietly into darkness, unsuspecting that doom had followed them to their very doorsteps. The crimson glow from the lightsabers was enough to catch their attention as the twin bodyguards turned and opened fire upon the two Sith. Four blaster bolts rained down upon Arianna and Doz; the crusader was quick to react, mentally prepared for the assault and had already developed a suitable contingency plan. She side-stepped towards her left, out in front of Doz to shield the younger acolyte against the danger. Her red saber came in an horizontal parry, catching the blaster bolts in a straight line and deflecting them towards their source of origin. The bodyguard was not expecting such a quick retaliation and his own defenses were ill-prepared, he was left screaming as the bolts deflected from the Sith's blade and smashed into his unarmored torso. Burnt flesh and charred innards stench resonated through the backalley as the thug crumpled to the ground.

Victor Reeks attempted to flee, Arianna casting a bolt of lightning towards him but narrowly missing. She snarled and quickly turned her attention to the other remaining bodyguard who had grown enough sense to pull out his vibroblade and attempt to engage the crusader in melee. Arianna's eyes quickly cast a glance towards her companion, "Don't let him get away!" She yelled, before turning just in time to block an incoming blow from her attacker. While Arianna and the thug were engaged in a dance of swords, it would be up to the young medical intern to subdue their fleeing criminal.

Even as she prepared to deflect the blaster fire, Arianna waded in to guard her position placing herself in line to take the hits. Such a thing that the Crusader would take injury never entered her mind and the woman’s skill did not disappoint. Her eyes went to the fleeing guard, too late to realize his fate, before the bolt cut into his chest and he crumpled to the ground. Lightning streaked from the hand of the Crusader but their quarry eluded its reach. While Arianna dealt with the man wielding the vibroblade, she took out after Victor.

Doz darted past the woman while she kept the last guard busy and had to laugh. They always ran never realizing just how futile that was. Just a slight leap and she hopped up onto a dumpster behind the establishment and pushed off with a bit of force enhancement to land in the street before Victor. The look upon his face was priceless.

”It is rude to take leave of a lady so abruptly and you were not dismissed, Victor Reeks”, Doz said before giving her lightsaber a flourish in a figure 8 pattern before her. It was all about the drama. She tipped her head upward in a bit of a nod toward Arianna and the soon to be dead guard. It was with just a small measure of pleasure that she observed the man’s reaction when she called him by name. ’That’s right dumb dumb. We came here for you.’, she thought. Rather than insult the man, however she simply spoke to him as though she were a receptionist in an office. ”My mistress would have words with you.” She pointed back up the street and said, ”If you tell your man to stand down, perhaps you will not be going home alone when we are through.”

Victor turned and began walking back toward Arianna and his guard calling out ”Stand down! only the guard didn’t listen. He was gonna make this Sith harlot pay for killing his lover. Doz just had to shake her head and put her hand on Reeks making him stop. ”Oh well, you tried. This is will not take long so do not fret.”

Arianna kept her eyes focused on the bodyguard that engaged her with his blade, deflecting blows higher and lower to keep pace with his abilities. The human would tire out soon enough, without guidance of the force his attacks lacked the necessary strength and speed to keep the Crusader at bay much longer. As the first hints of fatigued set in, she simply parried the next blow to the side, before using her force speed to twirl her weapon to his unguarded flank and pass through armor and flesh with ease. Two bisected halves collapsed to the ground, burnt marks evident on the single slash.

The Sorceress shifted her attention towards Reek, green eyes flickering to a golden hue as she commanded the dark sided corruption within her. Vile energies pulsates through her body before crackling across her fingertips as a cone of green lightning shot from her left hand and towards the government sympathizer. Agonizing screams echoed in the back alleyways, but Taris was an unforgiving world and Victor Reek would have no assistance tonight. Arianna continued her betterment of force lightning, but kept the lethality of her dose low as to simply toy with her prey. It was a cruel and sadistic practice, but Doz Nath should keep note in case she ever wanted to ascend the hierarchy of Sith. Niceness and sympathy simply had no place in the Rule of the Strong.

As the human lay on the ground, shifting around in Pain, he would momentarily look at his captors before shielding his eyes from further blasts of force lightning.

Arianna moved towards her Acolyte, a delicate finger coming to brush against the Zabrak’s cheek in an affectionate manner. “You’re not hurt, good.” She smiled warmly, before turning back towards the male. “Go ahead and ask him darling, I believe he looks ready to talk...” She said simply, wanting to see the young Zabrak’s interrogation skills in action.

Doz did indeed pay attention; it had been an unprecedented moment in her life when she had come under the scrutiny of the Crusader and she wasn’t about to waste the opportunity to growth. Of particular interest was to her was the green color of Arianna’s force lightning. She would have to discuss this rarity with her later when there were not more important things to tend to than her own sense of curiosity. Observing the man’s reaction, she noted that the lethality fo the strike had been tightly controlled.

Watching the woman make her way toward herself where she stood over the man, it did not occur to her how near she had been to being caught up in the lightning until Arianna stroked her cheek and made comment. Precision at its finest. She could not help but admire the woman’s control over the force. Nodding her head slightly, she quirked a slight grin before turning her eyes to the man on the ground.

Moving to the man’s side she squatted, the heels of her feet rising to balance upon the balls of her feet. Turning her head to the side she said, ”Oh dear. Look at the mess we made. I am so sorry Victor. I am afraid this is all just a misunderstanding. We are just looking for some directions.” The man flinched from her touch as she reached out to smooth the hair back over his forehead and she smiled putting on her best bedside manner. ”Don’t worry. I’m a doctor and I always carry around a few hypos of medicines just in case I run into someone needy such as yourself. You tell us where the spice smuggler Sugan Redus can be found and I will give you a shot to make the pain go away, hmmm? There really is no need to suffer for his sake, yes? Deny me and you can believe I will make you suffer.”

The man couldn’t wait to tell her everything he knew about the smuggler naming his favorite den of iniquity, The Gentleman’s Club. And then the little kark head drew a knife and slashed her on the calf. She hissed feeling the biting sting of the cut but easily pinned his wrist to the ground and took his knife from him. ”Oh you disappoint me Victor. I guess you weren’t raised to be very smart, and here I thought we were going to be friends. Didn’t your mother ever tell you to never pull a weapon on someone any bigger than what you want shoved down your throat?” She emphasized her point by stabbing him in the windpipe and watching as his eyes went from life into death.

Arianna tilted her head into an arrogant angle and watched the young acolyte with an amusing smirk on her face. Yes, this Zabrak was quite the addition to the Imperial ranks she had to admit, perhaps she’d be perfect for tutelage under guidance of the Crusader. Arianna slowly allowed the force to sweep away from her, golden eyes turning back to their natural green hues as the life escaped from the corpse of VIctor Reek. Such a shame, she thought, he would have been suited for their Korriban prison cells.

Very well darling, lets get some dinner and then head over to the Gentleman’s club to meet our guests..You like wine right?” She inquired with a semi serious look on her face, hoping the acolyte would join along. She didn’t keep friends that couldn’t enjoy a good glass of robust red.

Rising to her feet, the knife left where she had placed it, she savored the sensation of pain in her calf. It was of little consequence and she would tend to it soon. Not much of a drinker, she did prefer wine to other forms of alcohol. ”I consider wine to be one of civilization’s perfect creations.” All in all it was turning out to be an interesting evening and she could only imagine how much more it would once they arrived at the Club.

Arianna chuckled as the medical intern agreed with her, the young Zabrak had been lively company and so far the Sorceress was enjoying her presence. She knelt down beside the corpse of Viktor and rummaged through his belongings. A single hand reached deep into the breast pocket and pulled out his datapad as she flipped through it. It had several coordinates along with some pressing information regarding the Gentleman's club in question. Lofting a brow, she turned towards the other Sith, "So tell me darling, is it odd for you to take a life when you have sworn to preserve it? An interesting profession choice, considering the duties of Sith".

The grin that spread across her features when Arianna mentioned her moral dilemma indicated she had a lively sense of humor. ”Would it shock you to learn I crossed my fingers behind my back when it came to that part?”, she replied, though she could tell that the woman might find her little joke to be amusing that she had asked a serious question. Her hand slipped into a pocket pulling out a kolto pad before turning to take a seat on the curb and tend her wounded calf.

As she worked she spoke quietly of her indoctrination into the ranks of the interrogators. ”I think they only make you take the oath in civilian schools. But if my fellow Sith wish to believe such a thing is required of me, then I am fine with their misconception.” Pulling up her pant leg she affixed the patch to the cut after expressing a bit of blood in order to wash out any debris that might be in the wound. Fortunately it looked like a good clean cut to her.

She looked over at the woman, Arianna having completed her investigation into the data pad, and figured why not just let her know? There was nothing she would say that wasn’t easily found by going through personnel records. ”I admit I was a bit taken by surprise that first day when Tarsus showed me my first patient. He was interrogating Master Sorresh, former Crusader and commander in the military turned traitor.”, she trailed off a bit as she pulled her pant leg back down and rose to her feet once more. ”I don’t know. There was something very commanding in his presence, Tarsus I mean. The way he used his voice, mere suggestions really, to cause the man to inflict the worst horrors upon his imagination. The man practically tortured himself, though not completely. He would have died without my healing before getting the truth out of him. It was not known if he was truly a traitor or just in the wrong place at the wrong time until after I healed him and Tarsus actually let him get dressed, gave him his saber, and told him to leave.”

She snorted remembering thinking the Drast was mad, but no he was cunning and the Crusader fell right into his trap. ”He’d given him just enough rope to hang himself, and when he attacked us there was no doubt as to his loyalties then.” She smiled thinking of the way he handled himself, manipulated the man and shrugged her shoulder. ”I knew immediately I would learn many things at his hand and I was not about to pass up the opportunity.” Her cheeks kind of flushed, but hopefully in the darkness it would not tell. She wasn't used to speaking so much about herself at least and didn't really understand why she had spilled her soul like that to this woman.

Arianna let her gaze shift from the datapad to Doz as the young woman began to tell stories of her past including times with her former master. Intuitively paying attention, the sorceress slowly rose and went through other belongings of the man they had murdered in the streets and pocketed what appeared as an apartment key for likely some future purpose. Turning to the medical intern, she nodded. "Very well, it seems you do have quite the natural knack for these things. Perhaps we will work closer together so you may acquire your goals." She stated gently, before arriving and cupping her hand around the Zabrak's chin affectionately. The crusader would place a gentle kiss on the girl's forehead, before moving away. "Come love, let us go have some fun.."
