Bona Fortuna was one of the most well respected opera houses on Nar Shaddaa, its glistening spire serving as a beacon of high society across the sector. For the past three centuries, it had performed every single night, uninterrupted by the ever turbulent political-criminal (for all to often did they blend) scene that dominated the region it, in turn, sat resplendent in. Tonight was to be no different, for the long awaited season of The Triumph of Hutteripedies was to serve its opening night.

From across the sector, people had paid a small fortune to bank their own seats in the hall. Such was the fame of the performance, that its audience transcended political lines, enemies in the debating halls of far off worlds, shuffling in together to embrace the musical extravaganza to which they were about to be exposed. Early reviews had suggested that the noted impresario Boontana Vesilijic (at whose pen tonight's performance had been inked) had created, ’The musical equivalent of the big-bang.’ - it was being lauded by one critic as ’The greatest seventeen sense enabling, octave shattering, monotonal performance of historic memory.’

Nobody even knew what that meant - but all assumed it to be high praise indeed.

And so it was to come as little surprise when, as one of countless such vehicles, a sleek black hover car pulled up by the lobby. It’s driver, an austere looking droid, its chromium finish polished to a reflective sheen, stepping out of the vehicle and raising a chem-proof umbrella (even today, Nar Shaddaa rain was acidic) and opening the door for its master. Extending a delicate and thin hand, which was followed by an equally as slim arm, chased hastily by a large, domed forehead, Maximilian, robotics master, and self-professed smartest man in the Galaxy, stepped out under the shelter proffered by his Droid.

”Isn’t it marvellous?”

The droid did not reply, its vocal curcuity having long since been removed for reasons known only to its master. Fortunate to, for it was not to the droid that Max now spoke, but instead to Loth-Cat he scooped up in his spindly arms.

”How refreshing it is to be surrounded by the good folk.”

Max continued, as if replying to his Loth-Cat - who simply sat in his arms, desperately trying to go back to sleep. Sweeping up the stairs, he customarily ignored the security guards pleas for him to remove his weaponry, and - as his droid adjusted his unreasonably high collar - he entered the theater.

OOC - This is a PvP thread, and is death disabled. Japes, witty comebacks, etc - are expected and welcomed.

The Shadow

"I have reason to suspect that several key players within Nar Shaddaa's criminal syndicates will be at this performance," Tarrius' mechanical voice hissed through his helmet's comm unit. His eyes squinting through his helmet as he zoomed in to see the Opera house that was some distance away. The airspeeders whizzed and hissed past the point where The Shadow and his young protege, The Light, sat watching over the city. "This is your first operation, a live one." He responded as he turned to look towards the boy.

"You're the spark that will carry the future generations, a light for the galaxy, a light that I could never be," his voice hissed. "Stay close and watch me, this is a simple recon mission..keep a watchful eye, protect the innocent."

He pulled his cape tightly around his body as he readied his grapple gun, his helmet's visor scanning through the city, "Jen...Any activity on the holonet?" He asked through his helmet's internal communicators.

"Nothing noteworthy, it's pretty quiet out there Kal..." She paused, "Keep him safe.."

"I will.." His voice was stoic and determined.

Levi Devva was in a coma, having been that way since his parents were brutally murdered on the very same planet The Light now found himself. Sometimes he had memories of Levi's life, a rising singer with a decent following on the Holonet. Stargazer, a happy, carefree and somewhat arrogant young man whose sights had been set on nothing but greater fame. The Light had his sights set on justice. He would not allow anything to happen to others like what had happened to Levi, if he was in a position to stop it. He opened his eyes at the sound of his mentors voice and turned to look at the man known as The Shadow.

"I'll make you proud." He replied to the older males words, taking out his own grapple gun. He wasn't decked out in a full on suit of armor like his mentor. The general layout of his suit was similar, however the coloring of The Light's suit featured some dulled gold and light grey. He also wore a simple domino mask to contrast against his mentor's harsh mask and his hair was sprayed with temporary black hair spray, to cover up his bleached blonde locks. On his belt, he had a simple viobro staff in an easy to carry form, as well as several of the same things his mentor had. Unlike his mentor, he had an ear piece to communicate and no voice modulator. Sometimes he wondered why. It wasn't as if the voice of Stargazer wasn't recognizable to some. Crouching low, he prepared to move, a look of determination crossing his youthful features. "Whenever you're ready boss."

"Splendid." Max allowed himself some small indulgence, as he took his seat in his personal box - recently vacated by its owner some three days hence, owing to an incident involving a 'night droid' and a pnuematic power axel. The details of the case had apparently caused the investigating officer to take to drink.

Heavily.

Taking his seat, and placing his Loth-Cat on his lap as he did so, he dismissed his Chromium Compatriot, who merely went to linger behind one of the curtains in a not-at-all-creepy way, as Max prepared himself for the opening music to begin. The opening few moments of the opera had to be experienced by all the senses, including some Max did not possess, to truly be understoof - it was art you see?

Falling silent, as he had been muttering to himself, he raised his unreasonably small pair of spectacles to his nose, and as the music started, inhaled deeply. He could practically feel the music, assaulting his senses in a way that was probably illegal on some worlds. Waiting for his contact to come and meet him in the interval - some big shot in the spice business - Max just allowed himself to enjoy the solitude for a short while.

The Shadow

The vigilante aimed his grapple hook towards the various roofs, going from facility to facility, racing with a rugged grace that only ten years of such work could allow for. His worn cape and black armored silhouetted against the backdrop of Nal Hutta, the planet that the Smuggler's moon rotated. To be with another boy felt strange, and paradoxical. He vowed that he wouldn't let the same thing happen, not like it did three years earlier.

Levi had been drafted into this war, the same as he was all those years ago. It was not an easy road, but someone had to stand up for those who didn't, this place within the galaxy had no one, no guardians. Not until ten years ago. He was the Smuggler's Knight, He turned back to Levi as they made it to their destination, upon the top of the opera house, "Now we wait."
