Ares purposly kicked the fallen blaster as if he was punting a ball, it flew high and wide and landed somewhere in the maze with a clatter of metal. Ares pressed hard on Zan, not wanting the recruit to be able to orientate himself by contantly attacking him.

The hunter attacked again, this time with an uppercut with his right cybernetic arm towards the recruits stomach. It was had become somewhat exposed when Zan went to block his initial attack.

Zan lost his focus for a second when the man in armor kicked his blaster away, Zan didn't even have a chance of blocking the uppercut to his stomach.After the punch landed, Zan fell to the ground, but he knew he didn't want to feel that again, so he quickly rolled a little ways from the armored man to regain his ground.

As he was attempting to rise he had grabbed a smoke grenade from his bag and tossed it at the armored man, in hopes that it'd give himself a few seconds to stand his ground.

The smoke grenade bounced hamrlessly off of Ares's chest plate before falling to the ground as it began to pour out smoke. The screen created by the smoke wouldnt affect the bounty hunter in the least, his helmet's many visor modes enabled him to see without sight. If anything the smoke had only hindered the trainee, a mistake that he would pay for dearly.

Using the new cover created by the smoke, Ares disappeared, his armored natural color blending nicely with the smokes hue. The armored hunter crouched low, again sending a sharp right punch towards the recruits gut.

"Guess I can't let my recrute get beat to mercilusly, seeing as Ares does tend to go over board with the beatings." Shawn said centering on Ares right arm useing an IR attachment to the scope to find him, in the smoke Shawn, squeazed off three rounds at the arm possibly not enough to stop him but probably enough to make Ares miss.

With the sound of the sniper rifle going off made Zan jump a little, and by sheer dumb luck had felt a fist pass right past his stomach.

It became apparent that this was either no man or it was and he just had a really good helmet on, so Zan decided to do the only logical thing. He jumped back as far as the area would allow and dropped a EMP grenade near the area he was hoping the man was.

Ares swore as he heard the sniper rounds going off, he guessed Shawn must have been getting jealous about Ares hogging his recruit, so the bounty hunter decided to end things a little more quickly than he originally planned.


Taking a rather large stride forwards, Ares kicked off his foot that was planted on the ground and went for a tackle on the recruit. He neither cared nor worried about an EMP grenade, all it would do was possibly fry some of his less hardened systems, it had been tried on him a large number of times in the past, forcing him to upgrade his armor's electronics regularly

The smoke cleared up just enough for Zan to notice that the armored man did not even get slowed down by the grenade and now he was about to tackle Zan.

Zan didn't have enough time to think, so he grabbed the closest grenade he had and dropped it between him and the armored man. Unbeknown to Zan he had grabbed a mere stun grenade, but he wouldn't know that until after it exploded.

Ares flew right over the stun grenade and impacted into Zan, over 200 pounds of metal and man forcing the Duros to the floor. When they hit the grenade went off, Ares unintentionally shielding the recruit from the stun blast with his back.

In an instant Ares was alive with movement, his right arm used to try and pin th trainee down while the other was shpaed into a fist and thrown at Zan's unprotected head. Under any other circumstance Ares would have used his right arm to strike, but his goal wasnt to kill Zan, just to rough him up a bit.

Zan felt the force of 200 pounds hit him like a speeder. He instantly felt a few of his ribs on his left side get broke and even before the pain set in he was being punched in the face. Zan knew he was in trouble and he'd have to do something to save his life.

Zan tried to reach into his bag without the man knowing to grab at least his blaster.

Ares brought his fist back again and sent another punch towards the recruits head, all the while putting more of his wieght down on Zan in an attempt to keep him still. For the first time in the enounter, Ares spoke.

" Your not even puttin up a fight! What makes you think you'll survive when you cant even beat someone whos not trying to kill you!?"

It was more of a taunt than anything, but the hunters words rang true. The punishment to the trainee's head was sure to knock him out soon, even thoughs who were trained in melee combat had trouble standing up to a continued assault like the one Ares was dishing out.

Sigh 'Guess it is time to show Ares rule number one of the BHG never work alone.....ok thats not rule number one but hay it should be.'

Shawn sentered the sights on Ares back and at the exposed joints of his hunched back. Shawn let shots rang out. Shawn opened his comm. to the trainie, "If you don't get out of there Ares will kill you, especially if you don't fight back."

Shawn kept Fireing only pauseing to reload. 'I really don't want to start useing live rounds on Ares but if he keeps the mercilous attack on my trainie I might have to save his life, and if that happens I will have to fail him.'

Zan heard Mac'Neal over the comm, then heard the sniper fire.
Zan attempted to grab his blaster out, but the weight of the man was bearing down on him to much to get it out of his bag. Then the unthinkable happened, of the few ribs that broke, one had pierced Zan's lung. He immediatly felt it start to fill up with blood and involuntary started to cough blood up.

Then even against high odds Zan attempted to stop this man from beating in his face, so Zan took his right arm and with all his strangth tried to block the armored man's attack.

Thoughts started to wonder through Zans mind, 'Oh god this pain in my chest it feels like its on fire. What does this man or thing wish to get from this? Should I just give up? No....I can't. I've come this far......wait.....'

Ares felt something like a falling out from the recruits chest, as if something was pushing against resistance before suddenly breaking through and falling. It made the hunter hesitate with his attacks, it either ment the trainee's ribs had broken, or they were already broken and had punctured something important, which meant the fight was offically over in the armored hunters eyes.

" Do you yield? " Ares said simply as he kept his weight on Zan, not giving him the chance to attack just incase.

Zan for once realized that this man actually was not trying to kill him.Zan had no choice, he wasn't going to be able to do much in the condition he was currently in.Zan spoke while coughing up a little blood,"Well I really don't think in my current state I'd be able to fight you let alone win. To my much embarrassment, I have to yield."

" Good. " Ares said as he stood whipping his hands. Rumaging through his belt, Ares brought out a small tank of bacta, with a small canister attached to it that acted somewhat like biofoam, there where also several bandages banded to the bacta tank. The armored hunter dropped the small aid kit on the ground next to the recruit, and then turned to leave.

" I suggest you patch yourself up quickly, the beasts in the maze have a thing for blood." With that said Ares was gone, disappearing into a door created from the walls face thanks to his datapad. The portal quickly closed just as fast as it had opened, with Ares disappearing into the maze.

Zan sat up and grabbed the bacta and used it to stop the blood from entering his lungs. Zan then bandaged up the hole that it made. Zan knew this would merely be temporary and he'd have to heal himself better later.

Zan then got up. Zan then thought to himself,'Well at least I have a little time before these walls drop again hopefully. I need to check if my blaster made it and if I have any grenades left.'

Zan quickly rummaged through his bag. It appeared that the blaster was fine, but he was running lower on grenades than he wished. It also appeared that his cutting blade received some damage.

Zan leaned against a wall and waited for the other walls to open up, so he could continue. He held his chest a little. He was going to have to be very careful not to reopen his wound.

Shawn smirked at the end of the battle, and watched as Zan caught his breath, leaning on the wall leading to the flag path hallway. with a quick push of a button the wall Zan was leaning on droped.

The hunting party on the other side of the wall before Zan was attacked by Ares that remaind joined up with two more droid squads with Cath hounds support patroling the flag areas open area in the middle of the maze. Zan's Shotgun was also in the area with the flag laying on the floor. Zan had at least 20 units to get through, to make it to the flag.

As Zan leaned against the wall he heard a noise, but before he figured out what it was he was laying on his back looking down a hallway of the maze,"Oh....it appears that my path has been opened. Although I kinda wish it just so happen not to be the wall I was leaning against.Oh well time to proceed."

Zan held his chest a little and let go and proceeded down the next hallway, holding his blaster and ready for whatever surprise was next.

Around the corner he saw it! He saw the flag......then Zan noticed the opposition.

Shawn frownd as Zan seemed to not even be able to formulate a plan to get around or lurer off the guarding droids and hounds. so Shawn decided to aim he centered the scope and aimed at Zan and fired a few rounds at him hopeing to push him into the opposition.

Just as Zan decided to take action and go foward he heard the fire of Mac'Neal's sniper again. Zan was amazed of how lucky he was not to get shot again, but he was gonna have to act fast to get through the droids and hounds if he wished to get that flag before Mac'Neal shoots him.

Zan immediately grabbed his special grenades and threw two of them to the enemies on the left and then he threw one emp grenade to the right and started charging the middle firing away at any enemies that were close to him.
