Primula Peyvand wasn't too happy about her tax reform being bogged down the way it was. She was vying for hundredths of a percentage, and still it was being relooked at again for final signatures. To say she was annoyed with it all was an understatement. Regardless she did still have enough on hand to supply her recently acquired troops with better than basic sidearms and assault weapons. She just needed to find a seller.

That was the reason she was back on Onderon. She had heard about these sort of weapon trade shows before, and knew somewhat how they worked. She was one of about ten people all from various systems or cooperation here to bid on contracts and weapons being offered by the locals here on Onderon.

She grasped her datapad in one hand and her latte on the other and found herself a seat in the main bidding hall. She adjusted her headband and took a small sip of her coffee before setting the datapad in her lap and hitting the power button began to scroll through some of the selections that would being offered tonight. She swiped her finger on the screen a few times before looking back up at the merchants taking the stage, letting her know it was about to begin.

"ARE YOU READY FOLKS?!"

Rabbit stepped out onto the stage set up for the primary auction. Sale. Whatever.

They didn't pay him to think of the names for these things; they paid him to grab the attention of the buyers and hold it for however long it took for all of their stock to fly off the shelves. Or well... they didn't have shelves. The point was that they would be selling the merchandise like hot cakes and that was all that mattered!

Unless they didn't like hot cakes...

In which case there was something deeply, troublingly, wrong with them and there was nothing that Rabbit could do to save them from the hell that they lived in.

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL HERE FOR FOLKS?!" he declared loudly, megaphone in hand as he marched to the front of the stage, "REMEMBER..."

JpjgW.gif

Moving out, the merchandise on racks were Rabbit's assistant protocol droids, and this time they had weapon racks full of pistols. They were all the same type of pistol however; the Onderonian OSA-10 Blaster Pistol.

Rabbit waved his arms above his head rather frantically as the pistols were presented. Sliding on over to them, he pressed his body up against the side of the rack.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN...!" He stroked one of the pistols before pushing himself away from the display rack with some feigned reluctance, "ALRIGHT! TIME TO SEE WHO IS GOING TO START US OFF...! LET. ME. SEE!"

Rabbit tossed his megaphone behind him casually, striding along the edge of the stage as if it were a catwalk and he was the star attraction that all these people had paid credits to see.

Cocking his hips to one side, he pointed both pointer fingers down at a woman in the front row.

"THE LADY IN THE RATHER FETCHING PURPLE BLAZER!" Bunny decided before humming, "I DON'T KNOW IF THE BOW IS WORKING TO TIE IT ALL TOGETHER... BUT I DO KNOW YOU'RE THE FIRST BIDDER! AAAAAH! EXCITING!"

Primula was used to rather boring speechs and timid folks asking questions politely and quietly while attending such an event. This was certainly not Taanab though, she was finding out as the rather strangely dressed man came out and had enough energy to give a hummingbird a heart attack. He certainly seemed to share it's diet.

Ignoring the comment about her more formal wear, she looked at her datapad quickly and found the picture of the pistols as well as a bit of information on them rather quickly. Not wanting to hold things up she looked back up at the man and smiled before declaring.

Two hundred credits per blaster pistol.

Rabbit was a showman so when the representative of Taanab offered him a decent (though slightly on the low side) offer of 200 credits per blaster pistol, he made a show of being concerned! Of being reluctant! Of being so very, very, offput by the number that she had dared to offer him!

Right up until he got bored of that joke.

3j9p.gif

"OH MY DEAR YOU HAVE BEEN TO ONE OF THESE EVENTS BEFORE!" he declared with a coy smile, "I TIP MY HAT TO YOU MADAM FOR YOUR SHREEEEEEEEEWD BUSINESS SENSE!"

Someone else waved for his attention so he made his way on over to their side of the stage for a moment before nodding and nodding again as he waited for them to make their bid.

"Two Hundred and ten credits per pistol!"

tumblr_mlduorChkS1qgqj3ko1_500.gif

Bunny opened his mouth to be enthusiastic before closing his mouth after going to speak. At the end of the day? Ten extra credits? That was nothing!

Moving over to the edge of the rack, he took a bottle of water from one of his protocol droids before sliding on over to the edge of the same where Primula was standing.

"AND NOW WHO HAS A BETTER OFFER?!"

Rabbit stared at Primula very intently...

... and no one could ever accuse him of being subtle.

Add a +2 to the next roll due to lowball other offer.

Well, no one could say this guy didn't know how to put on a show and keep a captive audience. While she thought him strange at first, he was quickly growing on her and she smiled confidently as he seemed to flatter her with some rather gentlemanly formalities. Maybe he had frequented Taanab and had heard of their traditions, she didn't know.

What she did know was that she glanced back and made sure no one else was going to raise their hand when some one did. Of course they did. A moment after he did another jumped in with another raised hand. She sighed as the bidding rose to two hundred and thirty credits and raised her hand.

Two hundred and thirty five credits!

Rabbit was very eager to move this whole thing along so when Primula gave him a price that was higher than what he was offered by the others? Well he was happy to take her up on it, making a lot of noise so everyone knew he approved of it! He pointed to Primula,

"THIS LITTLE LADY JUST GOT HERSELF SOME PISTOLS!" He grinned wide, already spotting some dissent and moving to squash it, "AND DO YOU KNOW WHO GETS TO DECIDE WHO GETS WHAT BOYS AND GIRLS? WHILE YOU'RE ALL SAT THERE POUTING? DOES ANYONE REMEMBER?"

He raised a hand to his ear in the classic "I'm listening" pose before grinning,

"THAT'S RIGHT..."

tumblr_men04tDhqV1qknq7n.gif

He smirked as the dissent calmed down and the rifles were brought on out. And while they were being rolled on out by the droids, he, naturally, decided that the audience needed to see some movement to keep themselves entertained! Because who liked to be seeing someone up on stage who didn't move around?

That's right nobody!

Because being stationary is boring!

3j9x.gif

With the stuff now out however, he was no free to get the show back on the road. He was tempted to start off with someone else again but there was just no excusing the fact that the woman in the purple blazer was just more interesting than the others and she seemed to have brought her chequebook as it were!

Still going to make a production out of it.

"NOW WHO WILL GET THE NEXT BID I WONDER...?!"

Rvip.gif

"YOU AGAIN! W-W-W-W-W-WHAT IS YOUR BIIIIIIIIID?!"

Rolling to 33 for the rifles.

Well this was going a bit better than expected now wasn't it? She had a feeling that they might have been at this for awhile but the strange man leading the stage seemed to want to hurry things along. She could only assume she was laying a good price for the pistols, so at least that might free her up just a little bit to spend on the rifles for her troops.

She couldn't get careless still however. She did also know she was pretty close to broke even with the success that was the cheaply bought pistols. So when the bidding was about to begin she was already looking through her datapad to see the specifications on the rifles as well as some general retail prices for the item so she could get an idea how much she would be saving per rifle at the bulk rate charge.

Four hindered credits for the rifles. I don't even know why anyone else bothered to show up with all these lowball bids they keep throwing out.

"HONEY... YOU OKAY?! CUS YOU'RE NOT EXACTLY LIGHTING MY WORLD ON FIRE HERE WITH THAT BID MY DEAR!"

Rabbit wasn't exactly blown away by the bid from Primula for the rifles but he did like her spunk and her jokes about the others needn't have bothered to show up.

"SO WHICH OF YOU IS GOING TO COME UP WITH A BETTER BID?! THEN..."

tumblr_mdynmc8PIk1rx19go.gif

He wasn't exactly all that enthused about the idea that others would be bidding since they'd lowballed him in the past but it seemed that one of them had been insulted by his jokes!

Which was exactly why he made them.

"Five hundred credits for the rifles!"

Got them all fired up!

tumblr_mbjo8pBcJ11qbyw97o1_250.gif

Rabbit grinned as he announced,

"WE HAVE A CHALLENGER! AND WHAT ARE YOU....!"

3MmF.gif

"... GONNA DO ABOUT IT?!"

He gestured to Primula, wanting her to try her hand at outbidding this guy.

Rolling to 33 for the rifles. Total is 7 so far.

Well gosh darn it the people really seemed to want these rifles. She looked around rather unhappily as more people began to bid on the the rifles she had come here for. Well she had saved a pretty credit on the pistols, and she figured she could take a page out of her stage friend here and just go with shock and see to get everyone to pay attention to her. As he pointed back to her she suddenly lept from her seat and spoke in a much louder voice than she had previously.

Six hundred and fifty credits for the rifles please sir!

See if that didn't help speed things along. She hoped so anyways, otherwise she would run the risk of overspending, which she could I'll afford at the moment. She looked over her shoulder to see if any others would try to go any higher than herself, and of course give them a cold stare for doing so.

Rabbit had to admit that he liked the new bid from Primula a lot more than he liked the first one but he wasn't about to assume that it would be enough for her to win this whole shebang!

After all, it was a good bid but was it good enough?!

"A STELLAR BID FROM THE YOUNG LADY IN PURPLE!"
f4162207a8df2719f6db05cf7a6d0486-d4qk8po.jpg
"Six hundred and seventy five!"

Oh and it seemed that they already had an advance on her bid! Well, it wasn't a big advance but that made sense. If people jumped up any higher they'd be losing out on the discount that came from buying in bulk at trade shows like this. But he was certain that one little lady might just be beating this guy!

He moved his hips from side to side before pointing firmly at Primula.

"YOU DO ME ONE BETTER LITTLE LADY?"

Rolling to 33 for the rifles. Total is 24 so far.

Primula wasn't happy that these others were going to be so uppity, she was going to be stretching the contents of her purse rather soon. She figured she could go another round or two of bidding but after that she would more than likely have to find an alternative means to get herself the equipment she needed. She winked and smiled back at Rabbit before proclaiming..

710 credits for the rifles!

Rabbit had to admit... he was sort of disappointed in the offer than the senator woman had brought him this time... she had been doing well at the bidding so far but, he supposed, you just couldn't win them all right?

"WELL THAT'S AN INCREASE BUT IS IT ENOUGH TO WIN?! WHO HERE CAN BEAT WHAT THIS YOUNG LADY IS THROWING DOWN?!"

That ought to get people a little fired up... gun nuts had a thing about being outbid by girls - who knew, right?

...

Everyone.

Everyone knew that limp dicked gun nuts got angry if you mentioned a girl was beating them.

"720!"

See?

Easy.

"ALRIGHTY THEN - WHO CAN BEAT THE MIGHTY 720?!"

Rolling to 33 for the rifles. Total is 27 so far. Next roll is last roll - if she wins, she gets the guns. If she doesn't, then the rifles are not won.

Well she wasn't going to be making any drastic increases in her bid now. Especially with them going up by ten credits a piece she figured she might as well do the same right? She raised her hand up a bit exasperated from the bidding and hoped this would be the last one.

740 credits right here!

Rabbit paused and waited for the 'dust' to settle in the wake of Primula beating the deal made by the other bidder... he made a show of looking from left to right before holding his hands up,

"DOES NOBODY HAVE THE CREDITS... OR THE BAAAAAAALLS... TO TRY AND ONE-UP THIS LITTLE LADY?!"

There was an awkward silence at that.

Rabbit shrugged dramatically before pointing to Primula,

"THEN YOU, MY FAVOURITE LITTLE BIDDING WOMAN, HAVE WON YOURSELF THOSE RIFLES! THEY'RE ALL. FOR. YOU!"

And maybe now he could go and have a sit down?

Yeah that seemed like a good idea.

"WE WILL NOW TAKE A SHORT BREAK! BE RIGHT BACK FOLKS!"

And a literal bucket of water.

She rolled a Nat 20. fml.
