That is great that he got them freed. Have they reported on what he had to do to get them freed? Because I dunno if it is just me; but there had to be something to have Kim Jong Ill pardon them.

I doubt it. He's a player. He gets what he wants, when he wants.

"See that bulge? That's not my penis."

"It's my saxophone!" This lured Kim Jong Il into a false sense of security using his great charm and saxophone. Thus enabling them to escape unharmed. Kim Jong Il only pardoned them because he knew he met his match, Bill Clinton.

Kim was just wanting attention again, and he got it.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: He's getting old, and desperate for relevance in the modern world. These stunts are starting to become childish.

EDIT: ...then again, there is always the possibility that the U.S. was screwing N.K. over over a deal of some sort, and that would explain their recent actions. Maybe Clinton put Kim's fears down over it, or something? Wishful thinking/part conspiracy theory, but I kind of thought about it. After-all, the media wouldn't dare tell us about the U.S.'s wrongdoing unless it was put up to it by someone in power, right? Ever heard of the Philippine Insurrection?

What are they gonna do? Tell an emissary of the most powerful country in the world 'No, you can't have your reporters back'?

They've said "no" about a lot of things actually.

I wouldn't be surprised if they say "no". It's North Korea: they do a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense.

Yup, but that was in a college-course history class. Same goes with our coup d'etat where we took over Hawaii and made it one of our territories.

What do you mean? The media always seem to tell us about the U.S.'s wrongdoing as long as it's vaguely recent. Of course, the Philippine Insurrection is largely ignored though I did hear of it in my history class last year.

And let that be a lesson to the rest of the world. If the United States of America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, the leader of the free world, and the home of Obama, wants some bananas, they better give us goddamn bananas. :CStern:
