In middle of nowhere, Hoth. Local time: 0923 AM

Roman had accompanied the newly christened Sith Crusader on an interesting mission. They were to form some degree of partnership with the Dar'Mandas, exiled Deucalians; what better way than to prove Sith might in the snowy terrains of Hoth. There was a beast that lived amongst these lands, the Wampas. In order to slay one though, both Sith would have to use nothing but their blades.

To prepare for the pilgrimmage,
Roman had brought a light backpack along with furs and coats that shielded his flesh from the frigid tunda. A single weapon was on him, his Sith Longsword. Walking besides the delicate Crusader, he occasionally looked over in her direction. Even with her face and hair all bundled up, she sure was cute. Perhaps he'd get a chance to share some body heat with her later on in the evening.

A dark smirk came over his lips as they slowly approached the edge of a ravine, corrupted sulfur eyes peered down to look at the slope. There were freshly eaten carcases of Tuantuans, perhaps their prey was nearby.

It was rather cold today. Well, given this was Hoth, that was to be expected. Save for one thing, Kalanda didn't do 'the cold', at all. She was bundled up tightly from head to toe. Sith warsword and survival pack across her back, blaster on her hip, and a lightsaber somewhere inside of her coat layers. She was set. Her charge this time was some young punk by the name or Roman. She didn't know much about him, nor did she entirely care. She was just here to make sure he didn't do anything stupid, and that their mission would be complete.

Teeth chattering and face numb, Kalanda stomped through the snow towards the acolyte, as he was peering down into a ravine, probably thinking about jumping down in search of a good time. Idiot. "Acolyte, what do you see?" She shivered, keeping her arms crossed as the damnable cold seemed to penetrate through her attire. Mid never had to put up with this, where the hell was her heated suit? Damn budget cuts.

The marauder helmet had covered his facial expressions well, because if not, Kalanda would ahve been able to see a wide grin lace across the Acolyte's face. It was funny in fact, as the Crusader had simply predicted what Roman would do next. Hands tightened around the hilt of his sith blade as he turned his head to the side to give his companion a mere glance. "Our prey..." He spoke, with a low toned, carnal promise. Wasting no time, he immediately lept downwards from the top of the ravine; air displaced with his descending armored form as he sunk the blade into the back of the gigantic beast that stood beneath them.

It roared in pain, the Wampa reaching backwards with his mighty paw and smacking the smaller Sith off its back.
Roman went tumbling onto the unwelcoming ground, a jarring blow but nothing that would stop him indefinitely. Rolling to his knees, he snarled and strafed to the side as the Wampa came swinging, allowing the Alderaan descendent to avoid the attack narrowly. Roman danced lightly, skirting counter-clockwise to avoid the Wampa as it retaliated without doubt. The Sith's blade was still etched in its back.

Kalanda only head the man mention something about prey, it was a little hard to hear over the sound of her chattering teeth. She reached out with her senses, trying to understand what it was that the acolyte was on about. The answer soon come as she found the Wampa down below, only for her charge to leap down and engage with the monster. Kalanda rushed forward, moving her hand back to draw out the warblade she had carried with her for so long. With weapon in hand, Kalanda would move towards the edge of the ravine, only to find her companion engaged with a wampa. Kalanda debated on how to proceed, but she only kept her saber at the ready, instead preparing a charge of lightning if the acolyte needed assistance with his fight. She wasn't going to let him die to a beast, but the boy would need to hone his skills. Yes, she'd make this her little test for him, to see how he would do. The moment it looked like he might perish, Kalanda would step in, but for now she would watch how he fought.

Roman was unlike the other acolytes and sith to be honest. While they were distracted and diluted by the tendencies and temptations of the dark side, he had remained focused. Conviction and dedication were his greatest attributes, as eyes narrowed down and displayed the same tenacity he displayed when he slew the Jedi Knight. As the Wampa prepared for another charge, Roman placed pressure on his right leg as it rotated to the hind position before launching forwards and dashing to the right with a single strafe. The larger creature was stronger but slower, its massive paw flying over Roman's head as the latter ducked into a roll to gain about a 4 meter range from his opponent.

Right hand opened, the force yanking on the handle of the blade as it flew out of the creature's back and returned into his grasp. Armored fingers tightened on the handle as he dashed forwards once more, sliding underneath the Wampa's legs as it advanced forwards him with its arms trying to sweep low on the acolyte. Too fast for such a maneuver, its paws missed his head narrowly but during his slide, the sword slashed viciously on the left calf of the beast.

Its howl could be heard through the ravine, echoing loudly as it turned around in ferocity to glance at its soon to be slayer.
Roman however stayed calm and collected, rising to his full height as he executed the slide. Eyes narrowed through slits in the helmet as he prepared for the next attack.
