Hask sat on top of a DSD-90 swoop bike outside a cantina close to the Mos Espa space port's docks as he waited for his associate to arrive. He had struck a deal with the rapidly rising crime lord Nor'baal the Hutt to clear out a den of pirates not far outside of town that were threatening to throw a spanner in the crime lord's works.

By the sound of it, it might be too dangerous to go in alone, even for a sith. So naturally he decided to contact the friendly neighbourhood one-woman-army, @Rayne Kelborn to help him out in this endeavour.

In return for a successful extermination the Hutt would give Hask a Lullaby heavy blaster pistol. Hask had no need for such a big and overpowered gun and that is exactly why he wanted one. There was also the ulterior motive of rubbing it into his friend's face that she would no longer be the only one with a big gun.
As he waited for Rayne to arrive, he went over his gear. His heavy armour was fixed up, his helmet was on, his lightsabers were within reach and both pistols were at full power with two extra mags for both. He pulled his poncho over his weapons, no need for unnecessary violence this early again.

He spotted the Cloud as it landed and when Rayne emerged from the hangar he waved her over.
"What took you so long? I hope you realise we're on a tight schedule here." he said in a mock stern voice as she got closer, deciding a little teasing would be good for the soul.

Rayne touched The Cloud down on a landing pad in the small dismal town, her ship a technological marvel beside the others present, and made her way to the cargo bay. Six of her Marauders would be tagging along on this mission, and they were preparing the speeders for launch.

She stepped out allowing the Marauders to handle the off loading of her C13 - Redjacket, and the LK - 6800 Speeder Truck they would be riding in. Hask... You piece of Sith.. She said in greeting, I'm never on time to anything you know that, plus these low lifes aren't going anywhere.. Rayne added.

It only took Rayne half a second to realise it, and only half a second more to call it out, You got yourself another saber? Rayne asked, tilting her head to the right as she asked.

As the speeders were pulled out and set near Hask's swoop bike, Rayne snickered, You look like a wannabe bandit.. She said with a laugh.

As always, Rayne's gear had been checked, double checked, and then checked again, her full armament present on her in various places, either in their holsters or clipped to her somewhere. Complimented by Hask's own Lightsaber that hung from her belt.

Rayne opened her Redjacket and climbed inside, her six Marauders all piling inside the speeder truck, packed inside tightly, and surely uncomfortably. Well if you're done dilly dallying we've been waiting on you... Rayne said smiling as she teased the red skin.

He laughed at her greeting. "Of course! I forgot you and time never get along well." he looked past her at the squad behind her. "Didn't think the troopers would be necessary but I'm not complaining." he said to her, shrugging his shoulders.

He cocked his head to the side when she mentioned his second lightsabre.

"I used it on the freighter to cut open the door...how did you miss it?!" he thought to himself.
"Yeah. After I built a new one with the crystal you gave me, I decided to play around with the crossguard design. Just don't ask me where I got the crystal, that's a long story in and of itself." he said cheerfully. "I'm also relieved to see you didn't trade mine in for a bounty. That would have been a little depressing." he added and pointed to the brass hilt on her belt.

He started up the swoop and cranked the throttle a few times, warming up the engine.

"Well if you're done talking smack then we can move out one day." he fired back in a joking tone as he slowly moved forward.

As soon as the convoy cleared the traffic, they opened up and blasted off into the desert towards the den of pirates.

Rayne remembered the days when she used to do missions completely solo, since her appointment over her squad it seemed she hadn't done that in quite some time, a sentiment that made her long for some alone time. The extra firepower could always be useful.. and with this many targets you might not have to get stuck being the one getting shot all the time... Rayne said with a smirk.

I could talk smack for days.. Rayne quipped quickly before closing the lid on her Redjacket and opening up the comms so she could continue to trash talk the man while they flew to their destination.

Clearing the city wasn't hard, and once they hit the open 'road' Rayne started to inquire about the job to be, Can I assume you've gotten some recon or Intel? What're we walking into? Numbers? Defenses? They have a base or just a downed ship they're hoveling in? Rayne asked, opening the air speeder up a bit to leave the slower swoop bike in the dust, purposefully cutting to the side to spray sand at Hask, and laughing hysterically after having done so.

He tuned the onboard commlink to pick up Rayne's speeder. As they flew over dunes and the odd canyon she asked for intel.

"I did try to do some recon but it's a little tricky. Their base is an old moisture farm by the looks of it and I'd put their numbers in at about thirty at least. Problem is it's in a flat, wide open field and the only cover I had was on top of a hill almost a hundred yards or so away. Somehow they made me and opened fire. Probably looked like a Tusken Raider to them. Either way I won't be too scared, they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn door from all the drugs and drinks they were consuming. I almost thought you were there between them." he explained to her, adding the last part with a chuckle.

They finally neared the hill Hask was talking about, and pulled over. It was still day and moving in now would become quite a mess.

Hask killed the engine of the swoop and walked over to Rayne's speeder.
"I'd recommend we wait till nightfall, it'll be easier to move in and get the jump on them. I just hope they are not smart enough to have put scouts in the area since I was here." he said as he looked around, checking for lens flares in between the rocks.

When Rayne finally climbed out of her speeder Hask made a small flicking motion with one of his fingers, using the force to keep her one foot stuck in the speeder and causing her to fall flat on the ground with a thud.
"Crap, are you okay? What did you do?" he said in a shocked voice as he moved to help her up. Just a little something to get her back for a face full of sand, but she didn't have to know.

Ners Moors had been the Czerka Corproations security manager at this station for just gone a decade. A Twi'lek in his early forties, he was one of the very few people here who actually enjoyed his job - the pay was good, the hours not to bad, and most importantly, not much usually went wrong. He was unaware that the latter was about to come tumbling down on him this evening.

Getting up from his watch station, he checked the security feeds and smiled.

Business as usual.

He collected his blaster rifle, a pistol and blade at his hip, and placed his Czerka hat atop his head. "Ily vrima, Do cahsinark elan kalue kuklo ji yap tloyebava. Tohso ootay vyan." he shouted over to the motely crew of guards, nearing the end of their shift before the reinforcements from Anchorhead came to relieve them in around ten minutes time. Heading outside, he looked around - seeing nothing, and checked his watch as he walked over to the warehouse and began to check the feeds/

OOC - Next posting round the guard will change fyi.

Hey even with piles of drugs and barrels of drink, I can could still shoot straight, and if I was aiming for you I'd have all the more motivation to hit.. Rayne fired back.

When Rayne was stepping out of her red jacket, her completely unimpeded boot somehow stuck to the floor board, causing her to stumble out, and land on her side.. That son of a... Rayne thought, he just used the Fhtagn force on me.. Rayne continued to think. She may not have been able to utilize the force, but she knew full well what it looked like when someone else did.. Rayne let Hask help her to her feet, and once up she landed a closed fisted punch to his abdomen, her shock gauntlet crackling as it made contact with his skin. The surprise voltage would likely land him on his rear in the sand.. Crap, are you okay? What did you do?... Rayne said in a mocking voice.

It was late afternoon, and Hask wanted to wait until nightfall, How much of my time do you think you're worth? Rayne teased, her Marauders had all climbed out of the speeder truck and were waiting for her orders. Having them stay behind for a bit, Rayne belly crawled to the top of the dune, getting a look at the old moisture farm.

Very well, we wait.. Rayne said, an open assault on an area this wide and flat would be a bad idea in the bright suns light.

His body stiffened at the electrically enhanced punch that Rayne gave him. He fell to the floor and just sat for a bit, recovering from the shock. "Oh kark off!" he slurred a bit as he answered her comment, his tongue a little numb from the blow.

When he finally recovered he followed Rayne up the dune, focusing on the base and its occupants.
"Seeing as you're the more tactical minded one here, what's your input? We can wait until dusk when the sun will mess up their sights and scope lighting properly, or we can stay here and see if they have some form of a guard duty roster or something."

He kept an eye on the one that just got up and moved to a different part of the building. "I think we should hide the speeders in the meantime, cover our tracks a little better just in case." he said to Rayne, glancing back at the convoy parked behind them.

"Qa tlaran dan cei vorkino jorhi?" he mumbled to himself, as off in the distance, he saw approaching speeders. "Asary a bui..." he brought up a pair of scopes, something just didn't seem right with those trucks. Peering through, he saw it, the trucks had no markings. It could mean ony one thing.

Pirates!

It had been a month or so since their last raid, and the Twi'lek was not looking forward to the next one. He fired his rifle into the air, sounding the alarm to the base, as guards spilled out into the walls and the watchtowers. The trucks grew closer, some thirty-seconds out, and he checked again - the registration plates matched the reinforcements, they must have taken them and burned off the logos.

Typical.

Aiming his weapon, he checked everyone was in position.

This was about to get interesting.

"Hey, check it out!" Hask said softly, pointing to the cloud of dust approaching the base very rapidly. The base was bustling with activity, looking like they were getting ready for battle. He squinted his eyes as he tried to get a better visual on the incoming vehicles. Their occupants looking like pirates themselves. "I don't know what's going on, but I think we can seize this opportunity to grab the element of surprise as well as make things a little bit more interesting." he said, flashing a mischievous smile to Rayne.

"I say we move in, while the other two gangs are fighting each other, then wipe out the survivors. What's your input? I know you're always brewing for a fight and I'm not about to let some scum do my job for me."
his tone became much more serious.

He went over his weapons once again, making sure they were locked and loaded.
"Come on, Commando, it's now or never." he flashed a smirk before sliding his helmet on and hood over his head.

Fhtagn.. Hask was all up and ready to jump into the middle of a skirmish between two other groups. Kad damnit Hask.. Rayne thought. He was already up and moving, and Rayne figured he'd just get himself killed if she didn't go with him. With her repeater in hand, Rayne made her way down the dune with Hask, they were on the opposite side as the incoming trucks, and their side was now dark, giving them a decent cover to move with.

She caught up with Hask, Hey! Rayne whispered, pointing upward, but it was too late, someone was already looking at Hask, Rayne aimed her repeater and fired two bolts, striking the man in the tower in the upper torso somewhere. It was enough to drop him, but Rayne ducked toward some cover.

"Alrigh' bois! It's tim' te steal us the show!"

The pirate leading the charge on the compound laughed as he stood atop the truck, a light repeater in his arms. He was having the time of his life and his allies were much the same. Of the five trucks attacking, all of them had their own mounted repeaters, making all of the trucks actually Technicals.

He was just riding atop one of them with his own repeater - repeating repeaters for days!

Spotting the men on the ramparts of the compound focusing on someone else however, the leader of the raiders laughed loudly as he gestured.

"You two gobs! Feck' em up!"

Two of the tacticals peeled away from the main attack force, opening fire with their repeaters on @Rayne Kelborn while the riders within the front cabs of the tacticals whooped and shouted.

The Czerka leader cursed as one of his men went down but not before raising the alarm. He gestured to his commander from where he was atop the compound's gate. He was about to speak before a blaster bolt from the raiders hit him square in the face and he disappeared. One of his men, an officer, immediately stepped up.

"Lay down fire on those two interlopers and bring up the heavy weapons against those Tacticals gods damn it!"

Two of the guards opened fire on @Hask Jen with their blaster rifles, raining down death from their vantage point as several of the guards from the compound went to fetch the heavy weapons.

Hask was about to thank Rayne for the assistance, when he noticed two of the technical bearing down on them, guns blazing.

"LOOK OUT!" he shouted as he jumped in front of her, igniting his two crimson blades and deflecting the oncoming repeater bolts. Thankfully the pirates' aim was about as good as one could expect from them, so Hask's job of deflecting as a lot easier than it should have been.

He reached out with his right hand, attempting to take hold of one of the speeder trucks' steering wheel and yank it to the side. It was taxing and pretty difficult to focus on such a small target and work against the driver's grip, but If executed properly this would cause the two trucks to collide and crash into the ground, tremendously slowing down the pirates' advance and give them a chance to get to the base's entrance

He closed his eyes, focusing completely on the trucks, not noticing at all the snipers taking aim and getting ready to fire on him...

Rayne was exceedingly well trained, and with all the reflexes of a trained Jedi knight, she launched into the air, her rocket boots carrying her upward, away from the mounted gun fire, as she loosed a single bolt headed for the man operating the mounted repeater atop one of the speeders headed for them, from the Renegade Heavy Blaster Pistol she held in her right hand.

She then turned her attention to the men she was approaching as she sailed upward, who seemed to have their sights set on Hask, with both pistols, she loosed two shots, one from each pistol, directly at each of their bodies, and then holstered her Renegade as it ran out of ammunition.

Her Chanti, still prepped and ready, she now held with both hands as she touched down on the wall, prepared to fire at any available targets.

The gunner atop one of the tacticals laughed wildly as he ducked, managing to avoid Rayne's blaster bolt aimed at his chest. As the gunner celebrated by flipping her off however, the tactical he was currently atop of began to weave as Hask grasped the steering wheel.

With the driver fighting the grip Hask had on the wheel, terrible things happened to the stability of the speeder and it, ironically enough, flipped just as the gunner flipped Rayne off. The tactical spun on it's axis, crushing the man to death under it's weight as the tactical came to a stop.

Of course none of this did anything to stop the other tactical open fire on the exposed sith, the repeater firing on him alongside two of it's passengers with their rifles hanging out the side of the tactical.

Up on the wall, two guards ahead of Rayne spun to face her as she came into line, opening fire on her with their blaster rifles, two shots from each aimed at her chest just as she was coming in for a landing. The pirate leader was busy further down the wall, bringing down part of the wall with an explosive as the guard leader scowled and readied himself for combat, activating his Gauntlet Bulwark Shield on his left forearm and drawing his vibrosword with his right hand as he advanced towards the Mandalorian from the front.

Hask opened his eyes just in time to see the stream of bolts headed for him as the last technical approached. He raised both sabers but was too late to stop all of the bolts.

One bounced off his right shoulder with a whistle, the second one hit him on the right breast but his armour held up. The third shot was stopped right over his heart, but the heat from the shot burned his skin. The rest he was able to block, albeit with a pained growl all the way. He deflected one straight up, another one back at the technical's engine bay and a third to his left in the air.

Chances of swerving at this speed at this range would definitely be a bit tricky for the pirates without running the risk of flipping the truck.

Deciding he was little more than a sitting duck in the open, he bolted towards the base for cover. He held his lightsabers up to cover himself as he sprinted to the wall.

As soon as he reached it, he used the force to boost his jump, pulling his legs up for a quick, perfect landing and keeping his lightsabers ready to block incoming bolts as he soared through the air for a second or two. Once he landed he found himself staring right into the eyes of a very surprised looking guard.

He sliced him across the chest before he could make a move and moved on, spotting two men taking aim at Rayne right as she was about to land. He released a quick force push to throw their aim off as they were about to fire before turning his attention to another guy taking aim at him...

Hask had managed to push one of the two men firing at Rayne away, his bolts now soaring off in a wild direction, the other however had managed to send a couple of crazily accurate bolts, both smashing into Rayne's chest plate, the power of both of them cracking her armor, Son of a.. Rayne murmured, there was a little pain from the bleed through, but not enough to disable her, even though one more would have.

In response, Rayne fired three shots from her Chanti, Mozambique style, with two to the chest, and one to the head. Kad dammit Hask.. Rayne said, it was quickly becoming a normal term when ever she dealt with him, the things he'd been getting her into were getting crazier by the minute.

A man was now approaching her, a vibroblade in one hand, and a relatively advanced bulwark emitting from his other arm, Okay mother Fhtagner, let's do this.. Rayne said, now only holding the Chanti blaster in her left hand as her right fist pointed toward the approaching man, she loosed one bolt toward the man's lower legs, a distraction only as her right wrist mounted flame thrower opened up with hell fire, bathing the man and the area around him in white hot flames.

The guards and the raiders, the regular kinds at least, were beginning to focus only on each other. This meant that the only two people who stood to oppose the Sith and the Mandalorian were the leaders of each side. The guard captain, the man armed with a shield and a vibroblade coming after Rayne, and the raider leader who pulled himself up onto the wall to face Hask.

"Red boi!" The raider captain called out as he approached the Sith from the front, with a vibroblade in his right hand and a deucalian thermal axe in his left, "Face me like a man you Sith-spit scum!"

The raider boss would charge to close the distance to Hask, thrusting his vibroblade at the Sith's face to begin with, his axe still at the ready.

The guard boss moved against Rayne but not in a straight line. To avoid the shot to his legs, the man sidestepped to his right (her left) and pushed himself forwards. Coming at Rayne from her left, his shield was positioned to resist the flamethrower while she could still use it. With him on her left, using her flamethrower on his would require her to use it across her own chest, which was not advisable considering how the flamethrower stream was prone to fluctuating as most fires were. With his left shield defending him against the flames, the guard captain would thrust his own vibroblade forwards from Rayne's left, aiming for the gap between her helmet and chest armor.

Hask took a step back as the pirate jumped over the wall with an interesting assortment of weapons, calling the pureblood out.

"Oh kark off." Hask mumbled to himself

With both lightsabers at the ready he faced the man, but didn't have time to mess around with the captain. He opened three fingers on his right hand and attempted to bathe the pirate in force fire. It would severely deplete his force reserves but it would turn the pirate into a walking barbeque and make short work of him. With the small walkway they were standing on there was also almost no space to dodge the flames

The lightsabre in his left hand was kept up and ready, in case the pirate somehow still had some fight in him or attempted to charge as Hask fried him. Taking out the captain would most probably break the pirates' advance and be cut down by the defenders

Over the captain's shoulder Hask could see Rayne had her hands full, but with the pirate between him and them he was cut off. He could only advance towards them if the pirate was dead or thrown over the wall.

Taking down both leaders could lead to anarchy for both attackers and defenders. If Hask and Rayne could survive this attack then the rest of the 'soldiers' would be dispatched of in a timely manner.

Rayne was able to adapt to the sudden movement of the guard boss. Rayne was an experienced elite soldier after all, and considered a veteran of her craft, her craft being warfare, the years of fighting and honing her skills has made her more resilient, her reaction speed and reflexes are sharp, rivaling that of a trained Jedi Knight, (ie. Level 2) and she was able to dodge the incoming blade by dipping to the left, launching herself off the wall, then activating her rocket boots, she soared upward, her flamethrower now kicking on as she angled it downward toward the guard leader she'd left behind, bathing him in flames and now loosing three bolts toward where he had been with the Chanti blaster in her other hand.

Apparently Hask and Rayne had had similar ideas as she saw an area in front of him get bathed in a hellish fire as well.
