Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain

~~~~~~~
The streets were glittering from the city lights shining off puddles and dampness, hiding the dirty grime that coated most surfaces. Most of the worthless scum that inhabited this part of the city were huddled in the few dry places to be found, waiting out the uncomfortable chilly rain that pelted anyone venturing outside. One dark form made its way through the maze of streets, seemingly oblivious to the discomfort.
Baldr Morrigan was on the hunt. That is to say, he had a mission this night and wasn't about to be turned away by some measly water droplets. Arriving at his destination, the young sixteen year old was confronted by a greasy haired fat alien creature demanding to know his business at the establishment. A cool look and a show of his power with the Dark Side of the Force convinced the creature it didn't need to know such things.
Furballs of various colors and temperaments awaited his inspection. Arkanian Tundra Wolves, though they were only pups just now, were a rare species and thus forced the young Sith to resort to black market methods of obtaining one. His eyes immediately picked out a single beast - sitting calm but attentive amidst many rambunctious siblings. Jet black with peculiar eyes, bright blue - not unlike Baldr's own orbs.
Thick, obsidian dyed cloth brushed the dirty floor as the teenage Acolyte crouched and held out a hand. Dozens of over excited pups leaped over each other at the chance to be petted or chosen to leave this disgusting place, but quickly stopped short. An aura of anger and of evil surrounded the Dark Sider and most of the beasts didn't like it. The blue eyed one was the only beast to approach him.
Bright blue eyes stared intently, watching the young wolf's movements for any sign of hesitation. Only a creature pure of heart - to Baldr's way of thinking - would do as his companion. The black pup didn't waver, just calmly walked up to the human and sat just underneath his outstretched hand. A small smile of pleasure spread across the young Morrigan's face.
A short ruffle of black fur was all the praise the beast was awarded before its new master stood and snapped his fingers. The pup seemed to understand the meaning of the action and immediately followed as Baldr made his way out of the building, stopping only briefly to toss a pouch at the alien at the door. The dark pair made their way back through the dripping, glistening streets until they arrived at the Sith's spacecraft and left the smelly planet, for the boy's home planet - Korriban.
Baldr Morrigan had intentionally left the pup alone during the voyage home. Its training wouldn't begin until they were in the room that the beast would call home from now on. He wanted it to be used to his presence only once its training began, not before. Surprisingly, this didn't seem to bother the fluffy wolf pup. The jet black fur ball simply explored the room it had been placed in and entertained itself by rolling around, jumping, and otherwise playing as any young pup would do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Darkness enveloped the small room. In the faint moonlight, pale walls - bare of any decoration - were visible. Two areas of darkness pervaded the vague glow that surrounded everything else in the room. One, large and bulky - the other short, small, and indistinct. The young Inquisition Initiate knelt in the middle of the room with his head bowed, meditating - focusing on the boiling pit inside his soul that contained the raw source of his power. The small, fluffy little puppy sat before its master, obedient and unmoving.

Baldr Morrigan focused his power on the life force of the beast before him. He saw the nature of the black furred wolf, inside and out. A whimper escaped the wolf pup, confused by the intrusion into its being. Baldr didn't even hear the sound, so absorbed was he by the task at hand. Images fluttered through the young Sith's mind - white snow, a lean muscled thug and a net, darkness, other wolf cubs. Similarly, images assaulted the small pup's mind - a blonde woman smiling with love in her eyes, deep space glittering with millions of stars, a spaceport seen only through a small window.

The two independent souls were experiencing first hand the lives each other had lived up until that point. Baldr's intrusion had gotten out of hand and he'd lost control of his own power. The Force was melding the two into something entirely unexpected. The young teen had only meant to dominate his new pet - instead he found himself awash with powerful raw emotions equating to the wolf's feelings about its past. Happiness, fear, helplessness, fury, loneliness. Many were emotions he had experienced himself in the past. Beast and child alike were lost in each other's pasts as well as their own - seemingly with no end to it all.
