DESCRIPTION​

Not long after the last defeat of Emperor Palpatine after the Battle of Exegol, a division of the Blackwell Research & Development team was secretly sent into the Unknown Regions in search of further mysteries that lie in wait. Blackwell Research was able to survey the mysterious Grysk, one team managing to observe their lightning guns in action at a distance and what it can do. Some time after that, Blackwell R&D managed to design and perfect a Lightning Gun of their own design, and now that it's perfected Blackwell Munitions, behind the mass production of Blackwell's small arms, now produces the design for the market.

The BM Lightning Gun - instead of firing searing bolts of explosive plasma like a blaster - instead fires blue electrical bolts. These electrical bolts that shock and overload a organic target's nervous system similar to a stun blaster, although if the target is already stunned then imparting more bolts into the target can be lethal. The Lightning Gun inflicts harm to droids or other mechanical targets, rather than disabling or 'stunning' them. The electrical bolts lose cohesion and dissipate on contact with a lightsaber blade, blocking them similar to a stun bolt.

Compared to most blaster weapons, the Lightning Gun has lowered ammo capacity, but it's range is competitive with other blaster rifles. The Lightning Gun also comes with a scope integrated into it.

The Lightning Gun is more expensive on average of blaster rifle and aren't produced in high volumes either. These weapons are on the market though, and are getting some traction with mercenaries and private groups. It isn't practical to outfit an entire planetary or government force with these yet.

LEGALITY​

Mostly Legal. Lightning Guns are new on the market, but they are essentially an in-between of regular blasters and stun blasters.

INTENT​

To give the site a nifty alternative to the usual blaster weapons, to bring an interpretation of a class of weapons from canon to our site canon.
