Overall I like Weiss' idea. I think it'd fit into the Dark Jedi's cult pretty easily. However, and this may be a question more aimed at bac, how will this religion affect the RP? Will certain/all characters within the Empire need to follow the religion, or is this more of a cosmetic thing?

If you're in the non-Force sensitive military, you're basically from the Esstran sector until we start to branch out, so you would be part of this religion. If you're a Dark Jedi, though, then you know it's crap and that you're not really a god, but you know that in order to maintain power for the entire empire you have to play the part. Otherwise the legitimacy of the entire empire collapses and you have no power either.

I think you should look more into brain-worm parasites.

Virtually all Light side and Dark side Force orders are religious to one degree or another. It's part of their foundation. Typically, the only exceptions to these religious tones are netural Force organizations, and even then, it's not true for all of them.

I was refering to the worshipping part. I have not seen one Dark Jedi worship anything other than himself usually.

The Dark Jedi are the ones being worshipped, not doing the worshiping.

In most people's minds, worship is the classic act of bowing down to someone and reciting a creed every other minute, but that is only one possible aspect. In the broadest of senses, worship can be summed up as the reverence or idolity of a figure or entity, holding or viewing it as sacred and exhaulted.

There are many orders that fit this designation, Dark Side cultists, exceptionally. The One Sith all blindingly serve Krayt without question or any other purpose of living. Many of the Sith associated with the Masassi culture were worshipped as gods. Essentially, all Dark Side organizations worshipped the Dark Side as embodied in their utter devotion to following the Dark Side's path. The Dark Force even had a formalized clergy.

Many cults and orders also (in some cases, less blindingly so) revered and fanatically followed central leader figures, such as the Bando Gora, Darth Revan's Sith Empire (as evidenced by their devotion to whoever was strongest), The Prophets of the Dark Side who practically worshipped the Dark Side in the classic sense. The Nightsisters could also fall under this category, as they viewed the Dark Side as dark magics.

There's a lot out there. Force worshipping in Star Wars just doesn't usually take the typical form we'd expect, like Christianity, Islam, etc.

Okay you pinpointed what I was getting a picture of. The rest of what you said makes me feel more open to the idea now.

This is the important part, because that's the purpose of acting as gods. Rather than just being powerful beings, we actually present ourselves as deities -- gaining that firm, absolute loyalty from the masses. That's something the Jedi don't have, whereas we have soldiers and citizens who would willingly give up their lives in service of their gods.

Actually I don't think it was. =/

You helped develop Conscio stuff but I was working with the religious subjugation for loyalty pretty early on.

Bac's brain now belongs to Stargate SG1. /thread

It's funny because I first started talking about all this Conscio stuff before I ever watched SG-1, and as it was developed more by me, the faction leaders, Mars, Sheo, etc., it was very similar to SG-1 but completely unintentionally.
