Q'san had overseen the newest batch of conscripts' first few days of training on the icy planet of Ziost. The crew had performed well, and thus was given additional leave in lieu of their performance. While en route from Ziost, to Ord Radama, a charismatic voice within the ranks of the new recruits caught the eye, but not the ear of some of Q'san's higher ups. A young Kiffar male, by the name of Hanmak Gorto had been going around to the fresh recruits, and handing them pamphlets. Thinking it was just some religious organization trying to give solace to the soldiers, the officers ignored it, until Q'san confiscated a box of contraband from a particular recruit, who would then be taken in after finding out they were subtly written propagandized messages against the Old Empire. No names were given, only the notorious symbol of the insolent rebellion that nipped at the Emperor's heels.
Q'san had been given full disclosure to begin an investigation, while they were on the ship, even going so far as change the jump location to a spot five days longer than the best possible jump to their destination, and managed to find nine men and women willing to testify against those who were passing out the pamphlets, in secret, but before the change over of night watch was over, those influenced by the rebellion had mobilized. Of the thirty five passengers and crew of the transport craft, nine of them remained loyal -*-, not including Q'san Torobah, a Sith CQC Specialist of the Imperial Navy. He carried the SGB-1 Scatterblaster, after growing fond of the Stun Scatter blaster, he sought something with more lethal stopping power, that felt the same in close-quarters. He also had brought his repeater, but it at the time was broken down into a case, as it had been used on Ziost to educate the whelps there about the importance of coverfire. It could potentially be accessed by one of the acolytes, or Tres, if it so chose.
Two Sith Acolytes accompanied him, having been brought along to ensure the training went along smoothly, and also played a large roll in tracking the early signs of potential rioteers. Timing was just off, but Q'san had organized a 'focus group' for a double training shift, and ordered his allies Luka Ragnos (@Faded Truth) and Osk Torlaug (@Kayenta Moenkopi), as well as a Goliath Droid known as Tres (@Narsi), as well as nine rookie solders loyal to the cause, caught out of their armor, and armed with standard issue weapon, and two of which being pilots currently being held hostage by the Rebels. His focus group had slept over, in their area in the cargo bay where they trained, and kept the unit together, pre-emptively during the state of emergency. While most slept, Q'san sat and watched the door, Scatterblaster at the ready, when everything shifted, as there was a big change in the overall direction of the ship. Q'san that that meant they'd overtaken their pilots, and made them prisoners.
"Sarge, why didn't brass move on the traitor's sooner?" one of the new recruits asked. He was a young Cathar, loyal to a T to the empire.
"It was a final test of your comrade's resolve and loyalty. Though nine of you, not including me, or the two Sith Acolytes and Tres, the rest of your platoon wouldn't out the traitors. We've been ordered to keep them alive as much as possible, because they plan to decimate this platoon, for mutiny, and make it an example of it to the rest, and the Old Empire," Q'san said, "so suffice it to say, we need as many of those kriffhounds alive so we don't draw the short sticks, because a decimation is indiscriminate, anyone on this ship is fair game, and ten percent of this platoon are dead men walking. We don't know who, yet, though," Q'san said, as he checked his weapons. "We need to get ready to move, they're already changing course to Void knows where," he said and got up, standing close to the door.
"Decimate? What's that mean?" one of the youngbloods said, shaking about from the anxiety of the situation.
"Removal of a tenth. Ten percent of this platoon will be selected, at the draw of the shortest sticks to be forcibly beaten to death by the rest of us to serve as an example to the rest of the battalion. So like I said, pray to the Force, we all make it out of here alive. Less of a chance to bet chosen, if all the perpetrators are alive, so of the thirty of us that were on the ship, excluding the first prick we found, three of the people in this platoon will be publicly executed. So, I say this with purpose: Limit your killshots."
The Cathar gulped. "Brutal." was all he could say, as he loaded his own stun pistol and scattergun. The other eight new soldiers fidgeted uncomfortably in their positions after Q'san said his piece. He would then turn to the two Sith, for their input and analysis on the situation.
