Anyone interested in joining can just post in this thread. This is all I have right now but I am busy with the rest as I type this. Well not as I type this because I'm busy typing this but you know what I mean.

Any force-sensitive is welcome and don't need to even leave your faction if you are in one. Perks of being a secret organisation.

Brotherhood of Equilibrium

History, Beliefs and Hierarchy

History

The Brotherhood of Equilibrium is a hidden sect of force-sensitive individuals that believe balance in the Force is cardinal in the survival of the galaxy. Known as Brothers or Sisters these force-sensitive individuals draw their power from both sides of the Force which enabled them to masquerade around the known universe as representatives of the Jedi and Sith respectively without the two factions knowing the better.

The Brotherhood have been in the galaxy prior to the fall of the Old Republic and had a unknown hand in the ascension of the Galactic Empire and its inevitable reformation into the Galactic Alliance we live in today. They have crossed paths with both the Jedi and the Sith throughout their history and as a result had to eliminate some of them due to taking over their missions so that it can be manipulated to enforce equilibrium.

They go through the galaxy manipulating the very future of the universe even though they only make subtle changes with pretending to be either Jedi or Sith to engage in alliance treaty and assassination missions that will work against any dominant super power in the galaxy. As a result of Jedi and Sith disappearing and reports on their missions mysteriously failing reached the ears of these organisations and both factions had their suspicion of a third party being involved but since they never shared information with each other the Brotherhood's involvement could never be proven and it was eventually assumed that their counterparts was the cause of a failed mission.

Beliefs

"There is no Good, there is no Evil. There are only Perceptions. There is no Light, there is no Dark. There are only Shades of Grey. Where there is Balance, there is the Force. This is the Way of the Brotherhood." Brotherhood Devotees reciting the Way of the Brotherhood chant.

The Brotherhood follows a religion called the Way of the Brotherhood which entails equilibrium as the solution to every problem known to the universe. Practitioners of this religion believes that right and wrong is perceived differently from conflicting members and that it requires a third party who can be unbiased to resolve matters. They believe balance in the Force will lead to prosperity in the galaxy and that there should never be just one dominant super power in the galaxy but instead two to keep each other in check and a third to keep them both in check from the shadows.

The members of the sect is not as compassionate as the Jedi and yet not as cruel as the Sith. Willing to kill those that needs to be killed; the Brotherhood is not beyond sparing those willing to conform to their ideals and keep the secret of their organisation away from prying eyes. To insure this these individual are placed under surveillance to be sure they adhere to their agreement with the Brotherhood.

Brothers and Sisters use both sides of the Force, Light and Dark, and as a result has an competitive edge over the Jedi and Sith kin with using the Force and in lightsaber combat.

Hierarchy

The Brotherhood of Light is under the guidance of the Council of Generals. They are five of the most powerful and wisest members in the Brotherhood led by the High General whom is considered the leader of the Brotherhood itself. Other positions on the Council is War General, Martial General, Peace General and Bishop General.

Devotee

Devotees are the lowest ranking members of the Brotherhood. They are accepted into the Brotherhood by the age of six and trained until the age of sixteen when they will be eligible to become Squires under the tutelage of a Priest.

Devotees are considered as the children of the Brotherhood and thus are protected by their seniors. They will almost never be found without the supervision of another member as they represent the future of the Brotherhood and are considered priceless to their kin.

Squire

Squires are the second rank within the Brotherhood. Devotees usually achieve the rank of Squire at the age of sixteen when they are taken under the tutelage of a Priest. Upon attaining the rank of Squire; members receive a traditional tribal tattoo on their left shoulder and upper-arm area.

Squires are considered the teenagers of the Brotherhood. Even though they are still protected by their peers and seniors; Squires are given more freedom and responsibility. They are required to not just accompany their mentors on missions but are also allowed to lead a group of Devotees on less important/dangerous missions themselves.

Priest

Priests are the third rank within the Brotherhood. Squires usually achieve the rank of Priest at the age of twenty-six when the have completed their tutelage under a mentor. Upon attaining the rank of Priest; members extend their tattoos with males tattooing the left side of their upper-backs and left side of their chest while females only extends the tattoo to the left side of their upper-backs.

Priests are considered the young adults of the Brotherhood. Now in possession of their own student; Priests spend the majority of their time nurturing their charges and acting as the main resource of the Brotherhood. They receive a measure of freedom to do almost anything they want just as long as their actions do not negatively influence the galaxy or slander the name of the Brotherhood and are burdened with the heavy responsibility of being at the Council's beck and call.

Paladins

Paladins are the highest ranking members in the Brotherhood. Priests usually achieve the rank of Paladin at the age of thirty-six after having successfully mentored a Squire into Priesthood. Upon attaining the rank of Paladin; members extend their tattoos a final time thus covering the rest of their left arm.

Paladins are considered the adults of the Brotherhood. They are charged with being instructors/lecturers in classes for Devotee groups when not on a mission for the Brotherhood. When sent into action, however, Paladins go only on the most important/dangerous missions that other ranks can't undertake. Paladins are some of the most powerful members in the Brotherhood and thus often go on missions alone. When the need arises, however, a Paladin can be seen going on a mission with their former student or in the most dire situations with another Paladin.

Council of Generals

Generals are the leaders of the Brotherhood under the direct leadership of the High General. In addition to the High General, who is responsible for the Brotherhood in a whole and the recruitment of Squires, their are four other Generals.

The War General is considered the best duelist in the Brotherhood. Responsibilities of the War General range from leading the Brotherhood in the most important of battles and instructing senior members of the Brotherhood in advanced lightsaber forms and techniques.

The Martial General is considered the foremost expert unarmed specialist in the Brotherhood. Responsibilities of the Martial General is defending the Brotherhood's conclave and instructing senior members of the Brotherhood in advance martial arts forms and moves.

The Peace General is considered the Brotherhoods foremost expert in Diplomacy. As a result the Peace General is in charge of negotiation with other factions in times of serenity or conflict and is responsible for instructing senior members in advanced diplomacy techniques.

The Bishop General is considered the Brotherhoods foremost expert in the Force. As a result the Bishop General is in charge of healing all Brotherhood members injured during missions and is responsible for instructing senior members in advanced Force techniques.

Somehow I don't see Sith being so eager to join.

Well if a Sith can be redeemed from the Dark Side then I think it's more likely that they'll join a sect where they can be themselves but in a different setting.

Here Jedi, Sith and Botherhood originals will come together. Everyone with different ideals but ultimately with one thing in common: their insight in the necessity of balance.

Reasons Jedi would join can range from anything like not seeing eye to eye with the Council i.e Qui-Gon or being betrayed by a friend Darth Revan by Darth Malak. These are two of many examples.

Even though Jedi and Sith are allowed to join (with the equivalent rank they hold in their own Order or if asked for a higher or lower one) other force-sensitive characters are allowed as well and can join and be taught the Way of the Brotherhood.

Since your faction didn't actually help create the Galactic Alliance, or manipulate any large event in this timeline thus far, I do not believe you're allowed to list that they did unless you have Admin approval. Pretty much the same applies to you claiming your faction killed multiple Jedi and Sith in order to manipulate events, except that you'd need the relevant faction leaders approval for that, which would be Xeno and Will.

Also, you should probably list any npcs, temples(and their locations), ships and any other equipment your faction has.

Thanks for the advice L. I'll contact those two and Brandon about that.

Just need two people before I put up the rest of the information.

NPCs, and the rest are already about half way done.

I honestly can't approve the faction right now since it is in the "Rules and Discussion" section rather than the proper category, but I'll point out things that would help you finalize the faction.

Currently, the way you phrased the sentence "The Brotherhood have been in the galaxy prior to the fall of the Old Republic and had a unknown hand in the ascension of the Galactic Empire and its inevitable reformation into the Galactic Alliance we live in today" makes it sound like the Galactic Alliance was made from the remains of the Empire, which is false; the Empire was fractured, after the Rebel Alliance took Coruscant and became the New Republic, and was brought back together in the Outer Rim, where it remained as a major galactic power. Not something that would break the faction as a whole, but something I think can be worded better.

Even though this is a secretive organization and the like, you do need to state how your group obtains the funds to function, where it is headquartered, how many NPCs are a part of your group (if applicable), and whether your group has a military/navy and how much manpower does it have. Navy-wise, you do need to state what ships your faction has (essentially as many small fighters and freighters as you need as well as a maximum of three corvette-sized military vessels).

Snap I made a mistake there thanks for pointing that out. I was supposed to have had Empire to Ruplic to GR we have today. 'll post all the additional information and the information found here in the right board. If someone would just be so kind as to direct me.

Thanks for the help, Lavish. I appreciate it.

It should go in the Independent Faction > Force-sensitive Factions sub-board.

Also as a note, you won't be able to have any NPC infiltrators/spies/agents/etc in any faction, so you can't start with spies already in place in case you were thinking of doing that.
