- Caramon has a belief that everyone has good in them, no matter how evil they may seem. Since growing up under the tutelage of his later Jedi father, Caramon has no higher goal for himself than to become a Jedi. Caramon knows he looks different than everyone wearing the mask but he wants so badly for acceptance. Caramon tries to lighten the mood with everyone, telling jokes and messing around but when it is time for buisness Caramon is ready.

It had been five years since the death of his father, yet he could still remember every aspect of his face as if he had just seen him yesterday. Caramon was 12 when it happened. War was breaking out all over. The Jedi were being hunted down. Caramon clung to the leg of his mother as they watched smoke billowing out from buildings across the horizon. Screams of pain and agony were never ending. Looking up at his mother, tears forming in the boys eyes for they both worried about Caramon's father.
They lived in a simple apartment, Caramon, his mother and his father. Since his father was a Jedi, he was often gone on missions or training. It was almost better this way because when he did come home he devoted all of his time and attention to his family.
Caramon had begun to learn how to use the force from his father. Training to become a guardian of the republic, protector of the innocent. Caramon always thought of jedi's as the most powerful beings in the universe. 'Nothing can kill a Jedi' he would often say to himself. Caramon's father had taken it upon himself to train his son. Since his father had not taken an Initiate under his wing, he believed he could train Caramon himself. He believed that if he was able to complete this task and show how his son had progressed under his tutelidge, the Jedi council would make him a Jedi Master. But this was a mistake. Since he was training his own son, he was more lenient whenever Caramon had fallen short on a task. Instead of using firm consequences that all of the other Initiates had experienced, Caramon's father would talk to him and tell him where he had failed. Little did he know, this would only harm him in the long run.
As they watched in horror Caramon waited for what seemed like forever. "He's gonna come get us mom I know it. Just wait". The wait turned to worry as the hours became days. Still no sign of his father. Finally after almost 2 weeks a dear friend of the family, and also former Jedi showed up at their doorstep. He explained everything, how they didn't stand a chance, the empire was too powerful. "How can that be, your a Jedi. The most powerful being in the galaxy". "I wish that were so young man" his fathers friend told him. After leaving Caramon and his mother mourned the loss of their father and husband.
It was on this day that Caramon had promised himself that he would continue what his father had started. He would become a Jedi and bring peace back to the galaxy. He did not want anyone to go through the heartache he had experienced. Caramons mother decided it was time to leave this place. The ever growing threat of the enemy proved to be too much to bear and she did not want to loose her son, the only trace of her husband she had left. The war still waged on as the "cleansing" as the empire called it continued. Caramon and his mother had received word of a transport shuttle leaving the planet and they knew this was their chance.
Clinging to the shadows the two made their way to the landing pad they were instructed to go to. Walking through smoke and ash proved to be in their favor, then it happened. With a deafening boom, the building they had just walked past exploded in fire. His mother was far enough ahead to not be affected but the same could not be said for Caramon. The left side of his face and neck blasted by the flame, the skin searing off. Caramon opened his mouth to scream in agony, but no sound was heard. His mother looked at him in horror at the sight of her son. Where his skin had once been, now only meat and muscle were visible. His esophagus torn, Caramon gasped for breath that did not come. Thankfully they were very close. His mother picked him up and ran through the door screaming. As they boarded the shuttle, two men immediately grabbed Caramon and went to work. The young boy passed out from the immense pain he was in.
Opening his eyes, Caramon stated to thrash around and move until he realized he was strapped down to the bed. There was something else, something he had not heard befor. A slow rhythmic sound over and over. 'What is that' he thought. Then he knew. He was alive, remembering the pain, the doctors slowly undid the straps and Caramon touched his new metal face. Getting up he looked at himself in the mirror, all the while the rhythmic breathing of the mask never ceased. He wasn't mad but he worried if his mother would love her new son still. He looked at her and she embraced him. "Your alive" she cried out. Tears streaming down her face as mother and son hugged. Caramon looked out the small window in the medical wing and with a sigh of relief he saw stars and knew they would be safe now.
As the shuttle came out of hyperspace Caramon could see the beautiful planet of Dantooine in the distance. His mother had been told this is where they should go. It wasnt long after arrival that mother and son were reunited with old friends from the Jedi Order. The Jedi Master looked curiously at Caramon. He knew that Caramon was learning how to use the force but there was no record of any of his training. After speaking breifly with the Jedi Master he could see a look of concern on his face. He did not know what that meant, but the Master looked at Caramon's mother. "I knew your husband, respected him even, but for him to do something like this is unheard of. To train an Initiate and not report it to the Jedi Council has never been done before. I will talk to the Council and he will be with the rest of the Initiates in the temple". As they were escorted towards the Jedi temple, Caramon and his mother did not speak but both knew that everything would be ok.
Five years later
The Old Jedi order was gone, everything he had ever known destroyed. But like they say, wherever there is an end, there is always a new beginning. This proved to be very true for the young Jedi as he studdied the ancient art. Not really having a master but participating in training missions with his fellow Jedi, honing his skills and learning how to calm himself. It wasnt easy, but becoming a Jedi is not for everyone. But this path that Caramon embarked on was never a question of if but when. For the past five years Caramon has trained and studied all aspects of the force. The training that Caramon had undergone was much harder than he was used to with his father. He had failed many times, but sometimes you have to fail so you can push yourself that much more the next time. If Caramon wasn't training, he was studying in the vast library. The Jedi had been great chroniclers of their past and the young Jedi had alwasy been enthralled by the teachings of the Jedi Masters of old.
Finally back in his room Caramon dropped to his knees, closing his eyes the Jedi calmed his mind and just like an old friend, there it was, the force. Feeling the light side of the force flow through him, Caramon concentrated and began to meditate, like he did every day. Caramon sat in silence as his small astromech droid sat in silence. Opening his eyes and leaping into the air, his r2 unit unloaded a borage of fire power. Blocking and dodging the shots, Caramon finally landed next to the droid. He often did this, thinking that even when he wasn't with a Jedi Master or in a training session he could still test himself. Caramon knew he wasnt the most gifted individual but he would be the one to train harder than the next and prove himself when the time came.
With a click the green saber blade retracted into the hilt as Caramon concluded his training. His breathing monitored by the mask that he now needed to help him breath. Even though his father was no longer with him, Caramon knew this was home. Surrounded by amazing people, and as alwasy his mother was never too far away. This training regiment went on for years as the young Initiate studdied intently and practiced with his fellow Padawan's until finally the day came.
Caramon was now 25, now he was a Jedi. He had passed the trials.
