Caris followed the old way into the Jedi. He was found by a Jedi Knight in an orphanage on Onderon when he was infant. His parents and family unknown to him. The Knight sensed Caris' abilities and return the young boy to Ajan Kloss. Caris began his training as soon as he was able. The Jedi Order becoming the only family he has ever known. His talents have always leaned towards the martial side and that is where the young Jedi applied himself. In time, he passed his Trials and began serving as Sentinel throughout the galaxy.

When war broke out, Caris was first to the front lines. He vowed to protect the only family he had ever known...no matter the cost. When Ajan Kloss fell it nearly broke the Knight. He was off world and was unaware until the ripples through the Force reached him. Such Darkness he had never felt before. It was then Caris became certain there was only one path to safety. To remove the stain of the Sith from the galaxy. He possessed the skills to do so and planned to use them.

Caris joined the Jedi Shadows when reformed by Master Hannibal Grayza.
