I have this idea for my second character that is different than a lot of the others in my faction. He will be a Sith, but he was not always one and niether was he fully trained in Sith teachings. Instead, he is a Shaman who grew up with an entirely different way of handling the force before coming to be loyal to the Sith later in life. He would not use conventional force powers, but would instead use dark side "magics" akin to those practiced by the nightsisters on Dathomir. Conceptually this is an important part of him. My main concern is that the magics displayed in the clone wars series seemed pretty OP from a PvP stand point(raising zombie hordes, teleportation, phasing, etc) and I don't want to seem like I am godmodding by using some of those abilities. I also want to be accurate to the canon depiction of the stuff.
My main way of compensating this would be to give him the weakness of needing sacrifices in order to use his abilities. He would have to routinely kill things and siphon their life force through ritual in order to fuel his magics. If he used to much power to quickly he would have to find something to drain in a short amount of time or else the magic would draw from his own energy to pay the price of the spell, scarring him fiercely and in some cases permanently maiming him. This would mean his ability to use the magics would be directly proportionate to the amount of people or creatures he has gathered power from before hand. Is this okay?
As for his species, I am kinda stumped. He is supposed to be from a kind of tribal race that has several shamanistic force users that act as elders in their society. Some of the elders will wander the galaxy as hermits, seeking to let the force guide them wherever it takes them. Ideas for that would be nice.
