Chat Box?

This seems like the best spot to put it, but I was wondering if there's some sort of chatbox that the site uses? I've seen quite a few people on at the same time and it would probably be quite handy if there was some sort of chat box (or IRC etc) that the site could use (if there isn't one already).

Moved to the suggestions board since that seems to be the best place for this.

Two things; first, our stance on a chat box is a hard, fast 'no'. Check the link for the reason why.

Second, a lot of RP groups seem to use Skype to keep in touch via IM's. That could be a good way to go about it if you're familiar with using Skype. I stay out of the group chats myself, but I'm sure someone would be happy to throw you an invite.

I'm leaving this open with the hope that you can get in touch with someone who can get you into a Skype group, if you use that, but this'll be locked if there's any discussion pertaining to a chat box.

Ahhh, I see. Well that's fair enough then, I didn't mean to make it seem/sound like a suggestion but more of a question as I'm not that concerned about whether there was one or not.

Would it not be better to have a thread to let people know that the chat exists and they can post requests there to be added? A lot of people who might be interesting in joining might not realise that something like that exists.
