Nar Shadda was the ever glorious mud hole that he remembered it to be and then some. Quite a few major events had passed in the galaxy since the last time he stepped out like this to simply be like any other man that walks a decript world such as this one. He didn't consider it to be old, though it was, just that it was always up to the same business. A lot of crime and in what seemed like a sleepless place where people go to be forgotten. At least that was if you were someone like Balteus, a man that was always one step ahead but never quite ahead of himself. A flaw to his core he hadn't figured out yet even if he constantly probed at it the way his hovering companion did with the environment. A droid that size of a large ball that floated and hummed to itself with its mechanical innards that was barely perceptible.

The sensations Balteus could feel around him were constantly in tune through scenario upon scenario that included the odds of death at every turn. No one said mercenary work was glamorous nor did they say it was good for your health. Especially the mental kind where his eyes trailed over every passerby without their notice, just years of watching your back will do that to you when you live in dumps like this.

People watching was always a human thing, at least that's what Balteus assumed through his own lens. Not that he held prejudice, aliens sometimes didn't mix well with humans and so on. Humans are always just as guilty but such a weight was not the kind he felt on his shoulders as he stretched one arm against the back of the seat he slouched into. A boulder that was seemingly trying to contort itself into a position that seemed more comfortable but felt no different to him.

Like a statue his eyes perused with no clear intent, merely existing here in a moment on an uneventful night.
