Chronicles of the First Born Son Ep.1
Forging the Father's Son

Intent: Have Scorpio become the Jedi Knight he is meant to be.
Time Lapse: 6 months

Introduction

It's been days since Scorpio took a leave of absence from his usual duties as a Jedi Knight after remembering an old tale once told by his Father about a world placed upon the precipice of Wild Space, a planet of peace and tranquility like none he had ever seen before, untouched by civilization, where a Jedi could truly begin to understand their place within not only the Galaxy at Large, but within both the Living and Cosmic principles of the Force. A chance for Scorpio to truly find himself within all three and who he would become as a Jedi.

Stepping out upon the forested world from the long elapsed time aboard Homesteader, Scorpio took in a long, deep, breath of the planet's fresh air. The Force swirled vibrantly across the landscape as his blind silvered eyes shifted across it, taking in its entirety through the gaze of his mind's eye. Deep down he could feel this was the world he sought, the world his father had once spoken of. For in it's presence, the lingering presence of both his father within the Force and its beckoning call to his heart spoke words unspoken.

This would be where his journey would begin. Not only as his Father's Son, but also as a Jedi Knight of the Order. With Oof at his side, he began to walk it's untouched surface, letting the Force become his guide as he felt it pull at his heart. Yes. This was the world indeed, pure in the light and uncorrupted by the Darkness that sweeps through the Galaxy. Rising to the top of a rock overlooking a lush waterfall, the flora surrounding it vibrant and the fauna running through it unaffected by his presence, he chose this place to stop and focus his mind. Kneeling, he listened to the echoes of the Force.

When Scorpio's eyes opened and his mind drifted back to the physical plane, he found a mesmerizing sight to behold. He could feel the presence of night, cooler, more lively than during the day, and as he wiped his face, he could feel the accumulation of dew all around him. As the Force painted a picture for him, he felt the presence of Illuminated souls full of Light, transgressing the veil between life and death, a Nexus Convergence where the Cosmic Force crossed into the Living Force and the souls within swam upon its currents. And although they were oblivious to him, he could still feel them.

Imagine, for a moment, if you will, that you stood upon the precipice between life and death; feel its welcoming embrace; the warmth of it's existence illuminating and vibrating with the very essence of your own soul, beneath your flesh and blood, and in that moment, know it's bliss to your very core. That was what Scorpio felt as he gazed upon their swimming comet-esque forms, an entire school of them in place, reminiscent of the natural Force in this sacred sanctuary.

However, as he began to stand and dust himself off, a few took notice of him and began to approach. He felt no ill intent from them, and so he stood still, a calm and serene smirk sliding up his face as they swirled and swam around his form amidst the arid overlook, their warmth and illumination pure. He could feel only serenity and peace within their presence, and as long as they remained near, Scorpio took in their presence. As one touched his ribs, he felt and saw happiness in the soul's life, a female Shistavanian remembering her pups with joy. Another, swam by him and touched his mind as it washed against his hair. This one remembered fond memories of a wife, children, and grandchildren, a life well lived. Scorpio couldn't help but enjoy their sharing whether it laid intentional or not. He was beginning to see the significance of this world to his Father, and to the Jedi that knew of this world. It was truly a sight to behold, untouched and uncorrupted.

He had chosen this world to not only forge himself in the Jedi ways, but to understand the Light, and to train himself in the skills he wished to learn. It was a journey that called to him, and through the Force, brought him here. The first, however, was one that would test his perseverance as much as shine truth upon any doubts he would ever hold upon himself. It was one he recently learned of on Kashyyyk, the physicality of his own enlightenment brought forth in his reality, that he sought to shine. It would be his first step toward the Light Side of the Force, and truly define him as a Jedi Guardian.

Skill Attempted; D20: 8 - Partial Success with Minor Failure in Sustainment

Scorpio grew curious enough to attempt to beacon more of them with a skill he witnessed the basics of under Master Elenath, using a physical manifestation of his presence in the Light to call upon more of them to notice. What better way to experiment than to see if he could call these 'will-o-whisps' to him using his own inner light. Raising his hand above his head, his palm upright as he focused upon the Force within, he sought to shift his presence to his palm and physically. And within his palm, began to flutter, a light of pure serenity.

Like tightening a bulb into place, it flickered and grew brighter, until within the moment, it shown vibrantly across the cove and into the waterfall and pond it overlooked. Others began to shift outward toward him, dancing upon the currents of the Force like comets trailing the sky until, but a moment later, the light collapsed in on it's self and Scorpio stood there, drained and unfocused as his mind threatened to fall unconscious. It was but a moment of brilliance, and yet, it taxed him almost completely. Lowering his hand, he watched as the group rejoined the school. He felt tired all of a sudden and decided it would be best to turn in for the night.

Little did Scorpio realize, that it had been nine days since he first arrived upon the planet, nine days of meditation upon the Force and his journey within. And there was still so much of this world to explore.

There was so much of this world to explore, and when Scorpio awoke the next day, he rose from his bunk with a subconscious gusto. He was amazed to see the coverage that Oof had collected over the last ten days in his endeavor to probe and explore locally. He may have been a bit of a clutz when it came to the usual programming of his type, but he usually had a knack for intricately detailed data collection. Right down to the atmospheric data of each individual area.

It seemed the more he went to the north, the humidity would dry and the heat increase while the south would draw cooler and arid air, suggesting this planet rotated with it's polar axis closer to the sun. Scorpio logged this, and returned to the overlook he found when he arrived, content on mastering the ability of Force Light. Day after day, he would attempt to both replicate Master Elenath's form as well as the knowledge he gained from the Will-o-whisps he encountered the night before. And night after night, he would rest off the fatigue. The same repetition, with only it's sustainability lengthening more. Now he could sustain it for nearly a minute, but it was overtly taxing. Any more, and he would collapse from exhaustion.

But now came reflection upon this new skill, not only in it's ability to fight off Sith Spawn and other creatures of Darkness, but in its intent as it intermingled with his own. Such was the way of the Force and of Scorpio, a culmination between gift and reciever. For the following five days, twenty days spent upon this world all together included, Scorpio would spend the time in a meditative state of rest as he lay in his bunk aboard the Homesteader as he conferred upon the Force. Rising the following day, Scorpio would investigate Oof's data, finding an impressive three hundred kilometer grid mapped out. Looking over at Oof in his charging station, he smirked. "Good boy Oof."

It seemed the farther north that Oof traversed, an outcropping of barren land had formed, arid and dry, likely the edge of a desert. It would take a full day to traverse the area between, but if it's truly the place his father had once described, his journey here was well on its way to completion. He had to be careful though, as the Force works in mysterious ways within that area, a balance forged from the natural. Filling his satchel with necessities, he would soon be off.

Days upon this planet had turned into weeks as Scorpio and Oof traversed it's surface, both from the forested equatorial south to the polar caps of the north and everything in between. This had become a pilgrimage of sorts for the young Scorpio Armegedon, to a place that was once described by his father to have been the place that had forged him into the Jedi he had become. But was Scorpio different from his Father? Or was he his Father's Son. It was a question that had been weighted upon his mind since he first turned to the Jedi for training and one that led him here to find out.

But as he crossed the arid desert, Oof's servos caked with sand nearly as much as Scorpio, the question still lingered in the air. Memories of his Father came and went, vague as they were of his youth before the destruction of his family and their Homestead. What was it to be Jedi? What did being a Jedi mean? How would it help him against his mother's ilk? Scorpio often took time to self reflect upon his travels and their meaning to him as an individual Jedi rather than his Father's legacy. And it always seemed to turn back to that of his Father and Mother. Back to House Armegedon of Eshan and Clan Rägnär of Alpheridies. Back to him, Gemini, and Virgo. How chaotic their lives had been, how chaotic his own had been since he lost everything.

"I swear, Oof..." Scorpio spoke aloud to the Droid as he stared up at the maze of stars aligned in the sky and the numerous moons this world held to blanket the rest. "Sometimes I feel as if I'm lost. Not just to myself, nor the Jedi, but to this Galaxy its self. As if my destiny is preordained to be hopeless and for nothing."

Scorpio laid back, still gazing at the flow of the Force that danced upon the flow of life and he grew saddened. There had been so much strife in his life. So much strife that led to his conception. The lineage of House Armegedon was one steeped in the Force, having dated back to the time of the Jedi's founding and before, his ancestry dating back to even the discovery of Tython. And Clan Rägnär, a subservient house of Miralukians that paid homage and worship to the Pureblooded Sith of Legend. He was born from both. And as Scorpio had began to learn, there was no coincidence where it concerned the Force and its many mysterious ways. Even now, somewhere out there, the son of Ragnus hid amidst the Shadows in wait, their destiny intertwined by the fate of their family's legacies.

Scorpio pulled the photo of Wyllow and their children from his vestiges, tears flowing from his eyes as he walked away from his life with them on Annwfyn to train himself to defend their lives. And now, as a Knight of the Jedi Order, he had cursed them thrice. Shae and Taryn would grow up without their Father, just as he had. Wyllow would stand at a distance in anger that her husband chose a life without them. And even if he were to defeat Ōk and survive, they would forever be pawns to be used against him, and he with them. It was no life a Father should ever give to his children, and yet, without even knowing, he had placed them inside the infamous Armegedon Generational Curse.

Just as Scorpio was about to doze off, a whispered voice echoed within his mind. "My dear Scorpio...."
