DESCRIPTION
The Threshers is a name that sounds more dangerous than it really is. The design is old and has been used repeatedly over the decades by various nomads, smugglers, pirates and wayward souls. Originally it was built for simple cargo hauling with its own space for a shuttle. Buyers instead often stocked the ship with an interceptor or starfighter. This allowed for them to benefit from hit and run attacks on unwary foes. In turn the less nefarious crowds were forced to switch to supplying their own ships with an offensive vessel.

Towards the hundred years stripped down bombers were laidened onto the vessels and sent behind enemy lines on suicide missions to wreck havoc on opposing targets. This was effective at first but ended with many of the ships being destroyed. Now the design is rare and signs of patch work repairs are noticeable on those that remain.

As technology has progressed internal space becomes available and power in surplus. A secondary vessel like a star fighter or interceptor could be more costly than simply outfitting a Thresher with laser cannons. So owners did just that, now almost all Threshers seen today have two laser cannon turrets. One is located on the nose and the other on the midships keel subtly facing aft. The down side to these are that they require one gunner each leaving smaller crews at a disadvantage.

The T2 Thresher can function with a minimum crew of two as well as an astromech droid. However this will simply be getting them from point aurek to besh. A separate individual is required to fly the small craft that may sit in the Threshers hangar, potentially more depending on the small craft. On the positive side the cargo capacity of the vessel makes the T2 spacious for a ship of its size. Some people may forgo the transporting of goods and simply redesign the interior with a lounge, gym, or whatever their heart desires. Even with all of the passenger quarters filled it won't feel cramped for the every day voidfarer.

Eye witness account can confirm that the Thresher possess powerful engines for a ship of its size. These were not always the case but now are common place. This does negatively affect its maneuverability when it reaches these higher speeds. The dimensions of the small hangar ( 20 m x 15 m x 15 m ) make landing on the Thresher a difficult task unless it is completely still. The hangar does not have magnetic field to protect from the vacuum of space and instead has a physical airlocked door to cover the hangar when any small craft is not actively leaving or returning.

The following is Citrus Raillery specific discription



Citrus Raillery was given its name to reflect the tendencies of its owner, Dedric Ryker. His association with drinking thought of oranges, lemons, and other fruits that related to garnishes. Not to mention he usually is a sarcastic and teasing individual with both friends and enemies so a name like Citrus Raillery was the perfect fit.

The ship's small hangar holds Dedric's personal Hawk-bat interceptor for the time being. The ship contains two Binary auto-servitors in the cargo hold for lifting and moving freight. Dedric personal astromech droid is also constantly on board and rarely ever leaves. An EVA suit is also in the hangar for external ship maintenance when necessary.
@Eice Frex has her own crew quarters as well as @Tippi Snibit though they are not always present on the ship. Raina, Elli, and Grosho are among the organic career crew members. Dedric's own personal quarters are naturally the largest though only slightly larger than the others given the limited space on board. He shares it with @Nujina Trilaet. A single room has been converted into a brig to hold unwanted guests.


The galley is usually stocked with just as much alcohol as it is food. A small armory is present containing an assortment of small arms he has acquired over time. A crate full of smoke grenades Dedric doesn't know what to do with are on board as well. A satyr blaster carbine remains underneath the captain's chair at all time and a VZ-1 steady shot in his hawk-bat interceptor. A few other weapons are hidden around the ship in the even of the ship being internally compromised in a boarding action since Dedric likes to have contingencies.



LEGALITY
Legal in most systems. The two laser turrets will attract attention and require licenses in civilized territory. Additionally since it has been used for smuggling historically it might get frequent "random" searches.

Dedric has acquired the legal documentation for this vessel and did not acquire it outside of the law (technically) and if checked by authorities he is not breaking any rules.

INTENT
Small ships don't have hyper drives yet and many characters live in their ships. Combat oriented characters who are simultaneously on the move regularly need a way to travel between systems so they can get from dog fight to dog fight. Inspired a great deal by "The Bebop" in Cowboy Bebop I wanted a ship that Ossein (and other characters) could call home in their travels.

I will be adding and edited this writeup as Dedric upgrades his ship so this will be the main reference point for any additions and upgrades. original ship design.

ADVANCED TECH
YES. While the original ship design is old, newer technology has replaced older parts. Coupled with the limited availability of the model and base characteristics means it is both sought after and difficult to acquire (and maybe even keep).

I'm going to move this to player workshops, so there's no confusion with people trying to acquire it thinking it's regular gentech.
