OVERVIEW

Clan Ratheon is a Mandalorian clan whose domain is presently on Concord Dawn, their homeworld. The family was founded years before the Great Purge under the Galactic Empire.

Birthed unto the Mandalorian Protectors of old, the Ratheons pride themselves on their roots, even despite the destruction of the Protectors having since passed years ago alongside the Great Purge itself.

Clan Ratheon, as members of the Protectors, were themselves a minor clan; a part of a greater whole, they would say, where those Protectors were made up of many members more.

Even to the present day, the Ratheons echo the sentiments of their forebears; they value defense over offense, safeguarding their homeland and their home, what little of it remains, with the sword and shield of their sigil.

However, with recent developments, wherein the new Mand'alor of the Mandalorians was elected, and set about on swift crusade and conquest across the stars, Clan Ratheon is taking to the offensive.

Realizing the worlds between the stars stand in their way, they hope that their fellow Mandalorians don't get in their way but, if they do, there will be no mercy.

Clan Ratheon's sigil is a black sword on a gold shield, on a field of black, the colors represented on their armor. Their words are "Ours Is The Wrath". Their seat is the First Fist, a fortress on Concord Dawn, though its power is not what it once was. Their Alor is Jorah Ratheon.
HISTORY

Founded on Concord Dawn in the days of old, the Ratheons were a minor clan, content with making up a greater whole among the Mandalorian Protectors overall. They did not specialize in any given art or field, priding themselves simply on sword and shield, and the two symbols became their sigil.

Surely, they were not unique in such a perspective; many a Protector would regard oneself and one's own family as carrying sword and shield, blaster and beskar, into battle. However, the Ratheons sought to emphasize such willing simplicity, indeed their giving into total uniformity, by donning the former.

While the Mandalorians marched on, invading and crusading, the Protectors stayed close to home, protecting and defending, and the Ratheons stayed with them. They stuck with it even unto the demise of the Protectors, by none other than Mandalorians themselves, but did not give in.

Come the Great Purge, Clan Ratheon survived by bolstering their defenses on Concored Dawn. The domes of Mandalore may have caved in under the brutal weight of the Galactic Empire, but the shield of the Ratheon was immovable, and their swords pointed toward a future unmolested.

Year after year, they survived by staying quiet, and that was second nature for a Protector; loud only when the noise came to them. For most Ratheons, life was simply a matter and a means of spending days and nights at the fortress of the First Fist, training hard and enduring no less, with or without the helm.

However, given the condition of Concord Dawn even before the Great Purge, life was not easy. To survive, certain members were expected to leave their world and go out, explore and forage, and one among them was Endyr Ratheon.

Son of Alor, Endyr funded his family through violence and conflict, battle and death, though the supply was short. The Mandalorians were a far cry from what they once were, so campaigns of conquest were off the table. However, Endyr found familiarity with members of his own family, and Mandalorians of elsewhere, when he joined a private military company.

More than mere mercenaries, the Brave Banners valued strength and honor, though that would not save them. Many among their ranks were lost to the fight, Mandalorians among them and, among them, Ratheons.

One devastating conflict took its toll on Endyr, watching his brothers and sisters fall, witnessing the demise of the company, and it was all he could do to unleash his vengeance on the galaxy by becoming a pirate.

To that end, he was brazen and bitter. To that day, his clan dreamed bigger. Whatever their motto once was, the Ratheons had since adopted the words: "Ours Is The Wrath".

Unlike some clans and houses, they had not exactly lost their home, but they had lost their identity. The Protectors were purged, the Great Purge had cost even more, and justice must come.

Time later, Endyr heard the horn of justice and vengeance, of black and gold, and wore both proudly. He listened as Fenyang Ordo blared the trumpets, burned the stars, and Endyr would not hesitate. He had missed the initial invasions but, by Mandalore, by the Concord of Dawn, he would not miss the future.

"Ours Is The Wrath", his family taught him, his father trained him, and he would carry it through, hold the banner high. No mere mercenary, no paltry pirate, Endyr Ratheon was Mandalorian. He would prove as much—with fist and fury.
INTENT

To provide a reference page of Clan Ratheon, primarily for personal use but inherently public use too as far as is feasible. This is namely 'lore for lore's sake', not designed as an 'organization asset' page, but may evolve into the latter as time and roleplay go on and as this sheet gets updated.
