Trael sat in the middle of the training room meditating. A Sith holocron was open and floating around him as he took in the knowledge. He still had some time before the first students should be arriving and he wanted to have the forms fundamentals well covered before starting to teach it. His interest in the form steams from it being extremely similar to what he was trying to achieve with his combination of form VI and V. It was called Form X though Trael didn't understand why as there was no Form VIII and VIV.

After having the basics down to a comfortable degree in terms of knowledge he decided to take the remainder of his free time to put them into practice. Turning on the practice droid he had brought to demonstrate to the students. As he went through the motions following the basic disciplines of the form he quickly realized how different it was to his usual style of fighting.

His heavy sweeping attacks were replace with quick precise ones. Instead of twisting or spinning to gain and advantage on a blade counter he pivoted and used the angle of his blade to make an opening. It was a complete difference to how he would counter as well. His standard counter would be to use his strength to bat the other weapon away then follow up with a quick strike to finish off. Following the form it was a redirection using the blade followed by a quick strike.

After running himself through the basics he still had a few minutes to spare simply returning to meditating trying to get some of the forms attack patterns memorized. He already had the training sabers ready and backups incase any broke. He was slightly nervous being forced to teach a form you are learning is not the best way to make an impression on the acolytes even if he is a decent duelist.

//OOC note: This is open to any Sith that want to have their pc learn dueling basics regardless of rank. I just felt that with the influx of acolytes and the lack of academic academy stuff it would be cool to host some kind of class.

Wikkwok the Ewok was still getting used to the Sith way of life. Apart from mastery of the Dark Side, figuring out the internal politics, and learning the ins and outs of Sith history, Wikkwok found adapting to saber techniques particularly challenging. Having grown up on the Forest Moon of Endor, the Ewok beast master was far more comfortable wielding a club and a slingshot rather than a straight blade.

But he showed up ready to learn regardless, armed with a practice saber. Unsure of the proper formal way to greet a champion, Wikkwok opted for a tip of the hood.

"I'm ready to learn all you have to teach me, champ." Wikkwok said. Was that the formal version of "champion." He was still mastering Basic as well.

Outside the training room in one of the many corridors, khlan was merciless. The fellow acolyte had not been prepared for the gank to ambush him and beat him up without worry of consequence. Khlan couldn't understand why not, even as his mechanical fist pummeled the man's head inward, sending blood everywhere. The way of the Sith was one of advancement, no matter the price. And if someone else could pay the price, then all the better. He left the man's longer blade with the corpse. If anyone wondered about the body, no one would think someone stole one blade and left the longer finer one.

Finally, khlan stopped as he stood over the fallen foe. His prise now in hand, a lightsaber shoto, the short Gank studied the weapon before pushing the boduly further into the shadows. Khlan himself would've made one for himself, but his luck in acquiring a kyber crystal had been lacking. He had been too focused on his own cybernetics after all. For most situations, his own plasma torch had served him well enough as a weapon, but if he was going to actually learn from these sith, then he needed the appropriate weapon for it, even if they provided their own.

After cleaning himself off, Khlan entered the training room. His permanent smile widened at being the first one there besides the human and the ewok.

"Greetings fierce ones..." khlan hissed as be bowed, putting his good hand behind him and his cybernetic one before himself to show it off slightly. If khlan was anything, he was vain about his home made cybernetics.

"I trust I am in the correct place for dueling training? "

Trodai walked in dressed ready for combat, he had been sent by Caerllion, his Master to dust up his skills and learn new techniques. Like the other Acolytes he was here to train. To make himself better at the lightsaber and more. And yet inside he was conflicted after Thule and all that had transpired there. The reveal of Kary and Cyutadakr having a child and forced to fight. When disrespect had been shown for the Dark Lord. He wondered what Azar was thinking.

Probably needed that Korriban trip now more than ever. He put such thoughts aside, instead focusing on the task ahead. Noting it was to be that man teaching him. Trael Osso. A man with whom he shared a intense rivalry. And yet he wasn't entirely bothered by the notion, the man could fight he gave him that.

Even if his manners were something to be desired.

He hoped he would keep it professional between them while he was here. Looking around Trodai noted that same Ewok e saw at the execution. It was a unusual sight but he shrugged. Could be worse. And then he saw Khlan, he approached, greeting him.

"Hello Khlan. Come to get a battering have we?" he joked.

Ever since Kashyyyk, Serene had been seeking ways to become more powerful. Her lackluster performance was due to her own limitations more than anything. If she had been closer to the Dark Side, gained more knowledge, but no matter the excuse it would not change what had already happened.

The Sith Champion was capable with a lightsaber. More than that, she was skilled in using two at the same time and had a degree of talent when it came to fencing. But her true strength was in the Force which perhaps she had leaned into. The sorceress knew she needed to remain more than capable with a lightsaber if she was to survive in the long run.

A pair of unique crossguard lightsabers sat on the armored woman's left hip as they usually did. Additionally her lightfoil sat next to them. The rest of Serene's weapons were added to her outfit for the purposes of this training. She preferred to train as she fought and that meant wearing the extra weight of the weapons she brought into battle even if she did not intend on using them. They would be there when she really fought a lethal opponent.

This was a chance for Serene to see Trael Osso's skill in combat a little bit more closely. The man had also been on Kashyyyk and from what the Champion remembered he had fought well even if they had ultimately failed. Supposedly Trael had a holocron with information specifically on a lightsaber combat form she was unfamiliar with. The witch had some skill with Vogar and Suguraat but she was keen to expand her versatility.

Serene noted she was perhaps the last to arrive but her helmeted face betrayed no emotions nor did the stoic expression beneath it. Aside from the one teaching the lightsaber forms Serene was the only Champion. The rest were acolytes by the looks of them. Some of them she recognized like @Trodai Narat-iv-Adas who she remembered rubbed against her like a cat the last time they had been around one another in the Umbaran academy. The ewok and the gank however she only knew from a distance at previous Sith Order events.

It seemed the majority of people who were going to join had shown up. Half of the class he recognized one was Serene who he had multiple run ins with by this point in time. The other was Trodai a Pureblood who called him an ape and tried to yank off his beard. There was an Ewok and Gank he had yet to meet before also in attendance.

He quickly turned as the Ewok called him champ. It took every fiber of restraint he had not to fling it to Azar’s testing chamber. The Gank approached and was a bit more formal with him earning him a nod of acknowledgement. Trodai ignored his presence and went straight to talking to the others, his patience was definitely going to be tested here today.

He used the force to pull one of the practice sabers to him holding it out to show the group. "We will be using practice sabers. That way I'm not responsible for any lost limbs. If everyone is familiar with the basics go collect your desired number of sabers."

He watched carefully as each student did. Noting who chose what from the table. After each did he said one simple word. “Fight.” It was a command how each chose to respond was the true test behind it. The form he was teaching required a defined attitude and if they couldn’t fit into it mastery would be difficult to obtain.

Trodai picked his lightsaber, one that allowed for quick movements. He decided to go for Khlan, the two hadn't actually fought before so he figured it was a chance to see what his ally was really capable of it push came to shove and he was forced to fight. And yet he held the advantage of having worked with him, so knew his style well.

He would soon see his lightsaber work though.

Feeling the weight of the blade and being wary of the plasma, even despite it being a training lightsaber....Troda I made his move. Approaching in measured steps, calm yet underneath it was a storm of Rage and Wrath to empower him during the fight. He went for the weakest point, the cybernetic arm, trying get where he was vulnerable and use the momentum of his own blade to damage it. An opening he hoped to create.

He offered only a sinister smile, as the two looked to each other. As he advanced with evens steps. This was going to be interesting.

Khlan glared at @Trodai Narat-iv-Adas 's comment. Both of them knew who was superior in fighting with blades, and it was not the Gank by several celestial miles. Still, perhaps Khlan would gain an advantage over the Sith today. After all, fighting dirty was Khlan's specialty.

At the mention of practice sabers, Khlan showed a slight disappointment. His literal murder-mugging of a fellow acolyte before class was for naught. Still, at least he had his own blade now. Khlan picked up one of the practice sabers and weighed it in his cybernetic hand. A passing thought occurred to the Gank. What if he implanted a blade directly into his arm, rendering it impossible to lose and be stolen from, as well as much easier to smuggle to other locations? After all, people made cybernetic blasters. How much more difficult would it be for a lightsaber?

When no one was looking, Khlan quietly pocketed another training saber shoto into the back of his pants. If he was going to be disarmed today, he was going to have a backup ready. Turning, Khlan faced his first opponent, whoever it would be.

It was Trodai who made the first move, and unfortunately, Khlan was almost blind to it. He was not expected just a simple command of 'fight' from the teacher. He was expecting a bit more nuance or ceremony. As such, Khlan narrowly dodge the attack towards his arm and fell backwards a few steps.

"Now, now, don't forget who's your doctor..." Khlan hissed with a sadistic grin as he caught himself. Activating his own blade, Khlan waved it in a figure eight before himself. Now ready, Khlan circled Trodai as well as the others, holding his blade before himself one handed like some kind of fencer he saw in a holovid as a youngling. The teacher already showed that he wasn't playing normally with his students. He did not specify this was a 1 on 1 duel.

"Come on, old bodyguard..." Khlan hissed and taunted, trying to draw attention towards the red-skinned being with some fabricated lies. Maybe the Ewok would take advantage of Trodai's focus on Khlan "Surely you know better than to leave your sides open like you always do..."

Serene waited patiently until Trael made the announcement for them to gather their training saber. Similar to the fellow Champion she pulled one of the training saber hilts towards her grasp. Serene held the handle for a moment, adjusting the grip in her hand slightly before lowering the inactive weapon to her side.

Hearing the word 'fight' the woman brought her left hand over to @Wikkwok and pushed him to the edge of the room so he could observe how a true Sith fought. The woman's left palm then moved to grasp the hilt in her right hand and activated the weapon. Held to to her right and low in a two handed grip, she immediately lunged for her teacher @Trael Osso . She would aim to slice her saber across Trael's hips (from his left to his right) in a horizontal slash.

Trael knew more than anyone present on Form X and that was precisely why Serene challenged him. He was the strongest, the most capable and the only other champion she was willing to acknowledge as an equal. This was the fastest and most effective way for her to learn this "new" saber style. Hands on experience was the best teacher after all.

Fight? That was all the instruction they were to receive? Wikkwok barely had time to pick up a roughly Ewok-sized lightsaber shoto from the table before he was flung into a wall by Serene. Growling, he got up and activated his saber. But it wasn't swordplay Wikkwok responded with. Rather, he concentrated hard and sent a small fireball singing the air towards Serene, as retribution for her previous attack.

Trael simply watched as each acolyte chose their weapons. Most chose the simple standard hilts, Trodai chose a fencing saber while the Ewok understandably picked up a shoto. He followed as the initial fights began Trodai went after the Gank with familiarity while Serene unceremoniously tossed away the Ewok.

He had lowered his right hand holding the saber. Serene activated her blade and charged him aiming to hit his midsection it seemed. His blade activated as he initiated a low swing that wrapped upwards to catch her blade. He would try to continue his swing pushing her blade upwards until they separated before bringing it down with force aiming to hit her in the neck. Depending on Serene's skill in the saber forms she might recognize he was using form v in its normal form.

Serene's blade was intercepted before it made contact and was beaten by Trael's strong parry. Her blade lifted and was carried upwards but the woman used the change in momentum to take a step back. Remaining in control of the tip of her training saber she brought her weapon back in between her and Trael in time to block his counterattack safely and get a better measure of the man's might in the process. Her blade moved to her left and mirrored his as his swung to his right. The zapping of the two blades on contact was accompanied by the sorceress taking another more surefooted step backwards, giving the two sparing partners some space between them.

Her peripheral vision was aware of the other sparing acolytes as well as Wikkwok who recovered from her push quickly enough. It was a pleasant surprise to see the ewok acolyte take action. Seeing the small being conjure flame from nothing was impressive though it would be costly for the them to do so repeatedly.

Familiar with pyrokenesis herself, the woman brought a gloved palm up towards the incoming fireball. Her right hand remained up and ready to guard in case Trael pressed an attack. For a moment it might seem like the path of the focused flame would strike her outstretched arm. However in the brief time it crossed the distance the fireball died out before it reached Serene and was nothing but harmless cinders to heat the air around the Champion limb.

"You will have better luck with that saber, acolyte."

She was far from offended that a subordinate Sith had attacked her. But she was here to learn Form X, not dissolve dark side magicks. The ewok would soon find out she was a better match in that department than in close quarters. That being said she kept her guard up. Trael was her primary concern and a greater danger. Still, this was a teaching moment and perhaps after this was over she would ask if the furball wanted to hone their craft. Unless of course they turned out to be a disappointment.
