DESCRIPTION​

This ship and model is fairly new to the marketplace. With an increased need for custom manufacturing, the Celtic was created to provide a mobile manufacturing plant that can be used to create custom components while in transit to delivery. Most mining vessels are not equipped with crew safety and comfort built in. With the multi tasks required within this ship, a little more comfort and safety was built into it, but not much. To mine, the ships drone pilots will fly their drones over to extract the ore from its target, the tractor beams are then used to pull the ore into the respectful storage container or bay.

Due to room needed for the manufacturing plant, smelting plant, and somewhat upgraded hanger, much of the internal storage was lost. To make up for this, the bottom of the ship is lined with 6 docking ports which normally connect to external storage units. Also due to the fact that these storage containers are filled with a good amount of ore and weight, reinforced docking clamps had to be used to support the docking tubes.

Due to a lack of any offensive or defensive equipment besides the shields, this ship is recommended with a need of a decent escort to protect from pirate attacks and raids.

The Hanger is spacious enough to fit a shuttle, two star-fighters and 8 drones all at once, however, if this were to happen it be very crowded in the hanger and production would take a hit for the amount of time it would take to deploy the drones and the likes. To deal with this issue, the ship was equipped with 2 Quad Docking tubes on both sides of the ship. Unlike the other docking tubes, the quad tubes can only be attached to Star-fighters or ships of smaller size like the mining drones. With the drones equipped on the Quad tubes, the hanger can be well maintained with little effort.

The ships main portion is taken up by the Internal storage, Smelting plant and Manufacturing plant leaving little left for the hanger and Engines and additionally much less for the crew. Behind the main bridge is a cabin shared by the captain and his/her officers and a 2nd cabin shared by the crew and workers.

In conclusion, the ship is basically a mobile Manufacturing plant and Mining platform.

DESCRIPTION

The Renegade was created to give the Empire a cheap yet reliable patrol craft. Instead of building a capital sized ship like the corvette to patrol the space ways, the Empire was able to create ten of these smaller ships to do the same. Each seven patrol ships is assigned a corvette and company fleet on the ready. With a long range communications array, the patrol ship is able to call upon this mini fleet in a moments notice. This is a rare thing however and is only used in the situation that the threat is too much for the patrol ship itself.

This model doubles as a good escort ship too. Its armament of point defense turrets allow it to destroy incoming missiles and torpedoes, so a few of these hovering around capital ships in fleets is not unheard of.

The Quad Light-Laser point defense turrets are not just good against rockets and torpedoes, they can also be used against star fighters that get too close, however, the two dual heavy lasers normally already have that area under control.

The patrol ship is also equipped with standard military shielding and a military grade power core suitable for providing power to both the advanced turrets and military shielding.

One pilot with an additional crewman to run the auto turrets is required as a minimum crew. Additional gunners increase both firing rate and accuracy of the turrets. Also additional crewman for engineering and communications fill out the remaining needs to run the Renegade at full potential.

The ship has a hanger capacity for a star fighter, however if one is equipped, there is little to no room for cargo. Also vice versa, if the ship has any cargo aboard, it would be taking up the space for the star fighter to be docked. So you cant have both at once. Furthermore, if cargo or a star fighter are aboard, the passenger capacity is decreased by 10 leaving room for only two passengers. This severely limits the Renegade, however, encourages a different output for the different situations that it is tasked with. If it is tasked with space patrol, the star fighter would be a good fit to assist the patrol ship. If its tasked with a supply drop, the cargo would be the best bet. Lastly, if it were supporting a ground based raid, no cargo or star fighter would be best to allow a squad or two of ground support to be stationed on board.
