Born in Serenno, Cole's childhood years passed with little to note. Playing with his fellow kids without his cares only ranging from what he was going to play next, to what he was going to eat next. His family wanted for none as his father had a stable job with ample pay, earning enough to earn them a living for this life and the next.
Of course as it was always to case with the passage of time, things changed...
Cole grew up to be your cliche rebellious teen, running around causing trouble with the same friends he'd grew up with. Giving his parents plenty of grief with every day that passed. He even refused to go down the same path as his father that had saved their family from seeing much strife, instead opting for a basic education that put a strain to the relationship to his parents.
When the war between arrived to Serenno, the aforementioned friends and Cole were quick too volunteer as conscripts for the Sacred Band of Ziost. (Despite a great deal of onjection from his parents that had led to him sneaking away) How glorious it would be, a group of friends being badass and killing the scum threatening their planet and reaping the benefits on the side.
What they hadn't considered that they were still kids and war wasn't kind to the dreams of kids. In their first mission, (not to mention the subsequent lead up to it that had pretty much been the hardest day of their lives with the rambunctious Sacred Band) they'd been ambushed and half of their squadron had been wiped out. The first thing Cole had seen as he dazedly rose to his feet -from the grenade blast that he'd only managed to avoid because he'd seen it land- was the sight of his friend's face, his body mangled gratuitously.
He'd been able to escape by the skin of his teeth only because he was close to the rest of the squadron that had managed to avoid the brunt of the ambush. The retreat was one of the most horrifying images burnt into Cole's brain, bolts flying everywhere and bombs blasting off from every direction.
He'd considered it sheer luck that he was even able to enter the first evacuation vehicle, because there hadn't been another...
Shortly after that disastrous event, he'd been sidelined. His wounds and the battle itself had taken a toll on it's body. It was during this time that he'd learned he couldn't even return home, all that was left of it was a steaming pile of rubble. So he had stayed with the Band as it joined the Imperial Legion, and as if fate was mocking him, he was promoted! Just because of the only commanding officer left in the Squadron had deserted and he was the only one not able to refuse.
The Commander of a Squadron that was as good as dead, and only approved for action after 9 years of hard drilling and tutelage in the military academy that saw the Squadron disperse and left Cole a Commander of basically nothing.
Not one had in mind when they come looking for glory...

Cole is a very haggard individual. With his matted short hair and scraggly beard, his skin covered in sunburn marks he'd gained in the endless marches. His helmet is usually seen discarded off somewhere because he doesn't like wearing it.
He wears the Standard Legionnaire Armor to battle and wears standard officer clothing when armor isn't needed. A visible holster carrying a CZ-BP01 Blaster is seen with him at all times when this is the case.

After the forceful awakening Cole suffered through in the Battlfields of Serenno, his previous childishness has gave it's way to a militant approach that always involves a head on charge that involved shooting first and asking questions later.
He takes his hard earned military expertise seriously and will go out of his way to show that he has learned from his mistakes and will do anything to not repeat them again.
Cole's opinion on the Sith is neutral, seeing as he hadn't seen that many on Serenno with the Squadron he was assigned to, because of this he has a mixed reaction of awe and caution regarding their appearances and will avoid offending them if in a conversation.
