DESCRIPTION
The Collapsible Vibro-Sword is a mass produced version of the standard vibrosword. Built with a thick but hollow hilt, the blade is capable of collapsing down into itself, leaving only the hilt as visible. The main use of this is making the blade easier for the standard person to carry, as they only have to accommodate enough room for the hilt when the weapon is not in use.

Despite being hollow in places to allow for the collapsible form, the weapon is just as sturdy as its more solid counterpart. Built in a different way, the metal and mechanisms are extensively well made and reinforced to keep a consistent and well balanced weapon that can be used in almost the same way as its non-collapsing sister.

However, to keep the weapon in the same sturdiness as its counterpart, the blade is noticeably shorter, as making the blade too long would possibly make the blade weaker and capable of bending and breaking in combat. The power source for the vibrations of the sword is in the very bottom of the hilt, and can least entire days without being recharged.

LEGALITY
Legal, covered under same laws as standard Vibroswords.

INTENT
To create an easily storable weapon that can match lightsabers in battles, without being a hassle to hold, such as other Vibro-swords. While doing this, the reduction in length is meant to be a nerf, meaning that it is strong and weak in its own ways, and can be used with specific thoughts and tactics in mind, widening what users of Vibro-Swords can use the weapon for.

The collapsible nature also gives a unique IC notice, as their character would likely choose the weapon due to the ease to carry and use the weapon, which would allow players to worry less about how their characters lug around the gear they need to survive.

I'm moving this to approved tech since it's something that fills a niche I think is worth filling. However, since it had features not permitted within the initial rules for melee and was posted improperly, consider this an official warning to read and comply with the rules and guidelines regarding tech before posting here again, or you will be restricted from doing so.
