Colm Lorian
Master of the Jedi Order
For nearly a decade Colm Lorian was the Grandmaster of the Jedi order. Ascending to the position following events that left former Grandmaster Dewbecca unable to fulfill his duties. Following Colm, there was Ultor, and now Keldroma.
He is placid, calm to the contrary of his younger self. His once hot head- cooled and sharpened. He is not without flaw though. He is prone to some deep emotional blows mostly concerning those close to him. Namely his former master and his own Padawan.
Very rarely have I been allowed time to myself. Every moment is a question asked, a missed opportunity. I spend what time I have keeping up to the standards of Grandmaster. The expectations of my post are well higher than any would expect. I must know techniques forbidden to some I would consider masters of the force.
I call my skill with a lightsaber matched only by my peers, the other Masters of the order. My padawan will best me some day. I see in her future a greatness, she has true potential greater than mine. She is ahead of where I was at her age by leaps and bounds, it makes me proud to raise Jedi like these.
My travels have been vast. I was one of the first to lay eyes on Naboo. It makes me smile every time I think of how beautiful a place it is. The people are so grand there it would make you wonder if they had seen a day of hardship in their lives.
I know they face many of the problems we do today. As I was one to lay eyes on such a beautiful world. I have seen such evils that I should not be sane. By will of the force alone I am well.
I have visions from time to time... They tell me to go places, to people. There was one instance that lead me... [He drifts off, the story obviously reminding him of vivid memories that displaced him form this consciousness]
... To distant places. People I've not seen in years.

After the attack on the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and the destruction of the temple. This attack was coupled with his realization that the Bogan had tricked the council into sending Jedi to ambush Mandalore who was well dug in and prepared to slaughter the attackers.
The Bogan have struck at the order and I was found wanting. Many of the young Jedi died. The potential of an entire era snuffed out. Jedi are rare and the death of so many younglings was deeply felt. I retreated to Ossus where the Jedi can treat their wounds and reorganize. The lies by the Bogan have lead to Jedi being sent to their deaths. I fear they will not return from this manipulation.

The date of the recording is left out but it is obvious that it takes place in the days after the first Jedi battle with the Taung. The attack was a very damaging blow to the order and to Master Lorian. After this point is when he begins his plans for arming the Jedi for future conflict beyond the small capabilities they had.
"The return of those Jedi is a mixed blessing. Many Jedi died fighting the Taung, but many return with an experience fighting the Taung that no Jedi had before. I myself have only had one encounter with Taung and I was forced to use brutal attacks using the force to counter their strong armor. A lightsaber is useless against them, a return to the old swords may be in order."
"I have plans to prepare against failures like this in the future... In the Alsakan war Jedi were ill equip for grand combat. We relied upon the Republic for all Jedi movements and actions. Jedi could rarely join combat and fight properly in heavy armor meant for a soldier with a gun. I've been in contact with an old friend who works for Jade Galactic. He will be responsible for the ships and armor I want."
"I have petitioned the Republic for greater defenses on Ossus. The garrison on planet has been increased. The Space stations above are being expanded to accommodate more defenses. This planet will become a fortress."
