Hey there fellow players,
There has been a ton of discussion recently about how RP should be handled on the site. Whether you someone who really loves the competition of PvP and battle threads, or someone who prefers to stick with a more non-conflict style of play, I hope we can all agree that we are here because we have a love of the Star Wars universe and an interest in writing/reading. In a universe as big as Star Wars, we have room for both competitive PvP and the power struggle that goes along with it, and purely story based threads where all parties can collaborate together and make a really cool story (These can actually be accomplished at the same time, but that is another discussion for another day).
While I was reading through the discussion of the current state of PvP on the site, another member (I couldn't find the post again and don't remember who - if you let me know I will credit you here) said something that kind of struck me. It was along the lines that they had RPed with many of people in their own main faction, but had never really had the chance to write with members outside of the faction unless it was a battle thread. I think that is a problem.
We don't have to wait around for Faction Leaders or the Staff to give us opportunities to branch out and collaborate with one another. Just because we each have chosen a different main faction, doesn't mean that aren't excellent stories to be had outside of the struggle for Galactic Control. For instance, Obi-Wan and Count Dooku obviously fight throughout Clone Wars, but there were times where they were put in positions where they had to work together to overcome a situation. That is my goal for this mission pack.
These missions will be for three players (One from each main faction) the OOC goal for these is work together and come up with a cool story using the mission prompts as a starting point. In the interest of keeping things moving, I would ask the threads finish up in a month from when they start. If you do not think you have time to help keep the thread lively and things moving forward then I would suggest not signing up. Anything goes in these threads, the only rules are that you actively participate (Do not be the reason a thread is abandoned...I am serious) and that you collaborate and work together to create an interesting story.
If there is a good amount of interest in this, I will plan more in the future. I also have ideas for other community events. If you have any questions feel free to contact me or if you want to sign up please use the form below. These are not first come first serve, and participants will be picked randomly for their slots.
Community Collaborative Mission Pack One: Ithor
Mission One: The Lost Expediiton
A ten person expedition set out two weeks ago into one of the many jungles that cover Ithor to study its unique, and often dangerous, flora and fauna. They have not been heard from in ten days. There were several high profile scientist in the group, and time is running out for the group.
Sith/SBZ Objective: The University of Ithor has offered a 10,000 credit reward for the return on the scientist or if they are dead, the research they had been gathering. You have answered that call.
Jedi Objective: One of the scientist was a friend or mentor of yours. You heard about the groups disappearance on the Halonet and immediately set out for Ithor. Your goal is to find your friend and save anyone else you can.
Republic: The Ithorian government suspects foul play, and sent out a call for Republic aid. You have been dispatched to the planet to find out what happened to the group. Pirates have been know to use to the cover of the thick jungles as hide outs, and the Sith have been conquering territory in the region as well.
Mission Two: Captured!

A small group of pirates has hit a lucky streak and recently caught all three participating members. They have you caged in a deep network of caves they have set up as their base of operations. The primary goal for all three participants is to escape with you lives, but each member will be given a secondary objective.
Sith/SBZ: The leader of the Pirates, a one eyed wookie who goes by the name Thorn, beat you senseless when you fought back before being captured. He has also taken your lightsaber/favorite weapon as his own and taunts you with it often. Your seek revenge and to take back what is yours.
Jedi: The Pirates have also captured a family from a merchant ship. They intend to sell the all four people into slavery. Your objective is to help them escape.
Republic: You have heard that this is only a small staging base for the pirates and their main base of operations is an asteroid field somewhere in the region. Your objective is to find any information you can on the pirates, including the location of their main base.
Mission Three: Quarantined
All three participants have found themselves in the small jungle town that have been overcome with a virus that is spreading quickly. The Ithorian government has Quarantined the area, and adv if any ships try to flee the area they will be shot down. As more and more people get sick and resources become scare the small town government begins to lose control. All three participants have been infected, the first side effects are a dulling of the senses, including he ability to use the Force. As the death toll begins to rise, predators from the nearby jungle begin to attack and pick off those to weak to defend themselves. The Primary objective is for the group to find a cure before they are all too incapacitated or killed. Possible Secondary objectives will be given below.
Sith/SBZ: Find source of virus and collect any information possible. A virus that dulls ones sensitivity to the Force, could be a powerful tool if found it could be harnessed as a weapon.
Jedi: Collect as much information as possible on the sickness and assist with distributing any found cure to the entire population
Republic: Assist in the keeping of stability and keep town from falling into chaos.

In closing, All three objectives can be accomplished for all three missions. It is your job to work IC/OOC to make an awesome stories for each of the given scenario. I hope you guys enjoy this, and I know I kept it kind of small this time, but if there is interest in these types of things I plan on doing more that will involve more people. Remember, be cool and work together OOC to make a cool and interesting story
