If that's true, which I doubt, then that's a really bad reason for not having an apprentice and it totally goes against the nature of the Sith.

I'd have an eye out on that apprentice though. Just recall the tale of Darth Plagueis the Wise.

Also keep in mind the tale of almost every other Dark Lord - they knew betrayal was coming, and they expected it and welcomed it because the student overtaking the master is in the nature of the Sith. It also proves that the master did a good job in training the student, so the master can die with a sense of fulfillment.

I'd kill the student if I feel he was becoming ambitious, I guess I wouldn't make a good Dark Lord. Palpatine didn't welcome it I think, he was greedy. I don't think Malak would have either.

Palpatine was a galactic emperor and Malak was a conqueror and a soldier more than anything else. They weren't Dark Lords in the classic sense.

LOL...Boli, dear, I think you'd be out of the running anyway because you've held the title more than once. ;)

That rule I mentioned in the first post applies only to this timeline. Midknight, Boli, Jetzt, Adena...they could all join the fight if they wanted to.

I knew Jezt doesn't....

I thought waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when Hassan did....

Why does he run a site he doesn't even RP on? A favor? The experiance?

Wait.. thats something best left for another time.

In a dread battle between Enishi and Vigrash....

I vote Vigrash...but ONLY if he uses his Jawa. A jawa DL would be ten sorts of awesome.

Plan of Action: A cleansing of the galaxy would be my first act as Dark Lord. Send the known verse into a thousand years of savage brutality and then shape it in our own image. I would use spies to infiltrate both the jedi and the Republic in order to eat their own organizations from the inside out. Also, I plan to have my Dark Lord character not have force powers of his own, but simply realize that the sith are the most powerful organization to carry out his plans.

Sabre's got it right. In a perfect reality, I would have liked to have had only people who are already members of the Sith faction. However, because there's so few of them that would actually be able to stand a chance, people can make new characters. However, as Sabre accurately pointed out, we can't be having incredibly powerful new characters so you will need to compete at a moderate level. If you're a good role-player and you have good fighting skills, then moderate characters can still beat very powerful characters, so don't think that having a moderate character would make you lose.

I take back what was previously stated, and put forth a new entry. It's under "Potential Sith Lord". You'll get the gist of that.

Okay, just to reiterate to be certain I understand the various precepts and guidelines detailed herein.

Firstly a contender for the title of Dark Lord of the Sith must not be someone who has already been Dark Lord in this current timeline.

Secondly said contender needs to be both active and hands on in the manifest destiny of the Sith Empire/Order.

Thirdly if it is to be a newly created character, said character cannot and should not be 'poof uber powerful' right from creation.

Said Contender should state mission goals should he or she become the Dark Lord.

It is important that contenders remain at least cognizant of the canon results of our actions so as to not completely Fubar the resultant timeline (IE no blowing up or otherwise decimating an important system/world. More likely no blowing up worlds, period.)

Now by this point I'm certain people are wondering if I'm tossing my hat into the ring or not.

My question to that is Why shouldn't I? I meet all the criteria. I roleplay moderately well, I've never been Dark Lord in this or any timeline and I can carry out the goal of maintaining the darkness of the Sith without threatening the stability of Canon.

In closing I see no reason why I shouldn't throw my hat into the race however I'm certain folks here on the board will bring up those reasons that I've not considered.

Well any goals at this stage would be mutible at best. However a general outline would involve getting the Sith out of Coruscant, focusing efforts on weakening the Jedi's ability to recruit, train, maintain and grow in the force. The Sith are opposed to the Jedi.. Actual conquest and empire building are secondary to that goal. Taking Coruscant from the Republic if anything gave the Jedi a chance to strengthen, without a central capital the Republic also grew in strength. Without the drain a world-city causes, both the Republic and the Jedi could turn their attentions to their own infrastructure. By 'losing' Coruscant back to the Republic or better yet to a third party that the Republic and Jedi would have to fight would strengthen the Sith (no longer is the drain of Coruscant being felt by them) and the Republic would spend valuable resources reclaiming and rebuilding the World-City. It would also lure the Jedi back to the Galactic Center which would allow the Sith to target them easier... The Sith rule through Strength, but that strength does not have to necessarily come from strength of arms... Recruiting more Force users, training new Sith... Through this the Sith gain in power.. ships, armies while both are nice are nothing when compared to the power of the force (to paraphrase the big V).

However while these would be goals I would aim for in a RPing sense, a more mechanical aspect would be more missions for Sith Members, more direct interaction with attainable goals that do not cause the canon to wince.

More informative I trust?
