PvP: Death Enabled, Open to a 2 v 2 with a Mando Loyalists
Praxx had never claimed to be the greatest Mandalorian, things such as blind tradition had made his people weak. To stand with the false pretender, even if one did not agree with his position was a sign of weakness. Praxx had been labeled a traitor for turning his nose against those who who followed the Mand'alor and his heretical ways. To cohort with a Sorcerer, to accept their gifts -- it was a sign of a profligate in the eyes of what a true Mandalorian should be. The others who had turned against the Mand'alor could prove themselves useful, but they were too complacent and often resorted to altruism and speaking. Speaking is what had lead them into this position. They needed action, and a spark to lead their people into resistance -- to loosen the holds of Arasuun which had plagued their people.

Skirata had found himself positioned himself along a ridgeline which overlooked a small refueling outpost for the Mandalorians loyal to the Mand'alor. If he could secure the station, he could steal the fuel for the war effort, or better yet summon one of the Mandalorian leaders into a trap and lead them to their death. There were many in the cause that would turn against killing another Mandalorian, but they were not Mandalorian in the eyes of Praxx. I don't enjoy killing, but when it comes to profilgates...it's just a chore like any other; Kad Ha'rangir wills it. He pressed the button on his thermal detonators which had been primed around the entrance of the refueling station, sending it ablaze with a thunderous boom of the detonation.

He'd waste no time and would come sliding down the ridge line and onto the platform below which lead to the entrance, his RT-97C Heavy Blaster Rifle primed and ready for battle. We can't expect the Gods to do all the work...

Vala was lying on her stomach and cursed at her own bad decision making. Why would you offer to help? Silly woman. Keep your head out of danger! Well it could not be helped now.

She was quite a bit behind the lumbering brute, where she had found herself a high point that gave her a good vantage point over the area. She had been asked by a friend to watch this guys back. Praxx Skirata. She had asked what exactly he was up to, and the answer had been innocuous enough. Securing a refueling station for 'their side'. She really wished that they would soon have a better moniker for 'their side' than just that.

Apparently though 'securing a refueling station' in this man's head meant blowing it sky high. When his thermal detonators ripped apart the silence of her hiding spot, she twitched. What the hell was this guy thinking? And what the hell was wrong with the people sending her to look after this maniac? They should really have warned her. If that whole refueling station blew, with all the fuel stored down there, that would be quite the fireworks display.

She sighed. Her trusty MK Sniper Rifle was already lined up on target. She moved her helmet visor down to the scope and flipped up the front cover. One look through her scope showed her all the enemy positions around her charge.

“Well, here we go!”

She said to herself and started to pick her target.
Moments later she took a deep breath and tried to feel her heartbeat. It took her a moment to find her bodies natural rhythm. She took another deep breath and relaxed herself. When she exhaled she emptied her lungs and then, ever so calmly, squeezed the trigger.

As the heavy blaster bolt whizzed out of her weapon and towards its target the scope cover stayed up. In other situations she would have closed it again, to conceal her position. Right now she had a feeling she would need too shoot a fair bit today. No point in hiding. A few shots more and someone would spot her.

The bolt had traveled the distance to its designated target and hit its mark. Where a torso had been just moments before, a smoking hole was left behind. The armored figure fell and Vala slightly adjusted the muzzle of her rifle. Who was next?

"There's always a kweesa pecking from the back of a womp-rat." His heavily accented voice cracked through their personal comms. While his voice was low and tense, there was an easing laugh that seemed to follow the remark. He knew that there were potential dangers of mixing fire and dangerous materials like Coaxium -- one wrong spark and this whole valley could easily become a smoldering crater.

Praxx would lumber forward through the filtering smoke as he reached for his rotary blaster which hung against his side. He'd heft it up with a huff and began warm the cylinders with a sharp hiss as the cannons began to rotate. A Mandalorian sentinel had pushed through the debris of the entrance and was quickly struck down with a snap of a blaster shot from the sharpshooter sent the Mando crumpling into the earth.

"Now that's some shooting. They'll be triggering the alarms, head up the rocks, angle down. You should have a shot on the station command." His lips sneered into a smile beneath his helm as his cannon fully spun to life as he took heavy steps through the smoking gate entrance of the station.

Like the God of War himself, his rotary cannon would breath life with a firing hail of blaster fire that poured out in a fanning motion. Three Mandalorians had been caught in the open and were quickly melted down by the heavy fire. Some of them seemed confused that a Mandalorian was openly attacking them.

She was of course already in position and so she ignored the quip from his end. What did he take her for? An amateur? Always the same with those guys. A gal came along and she had to prove her chops to the men first before they accepted her as qualified.

Vala took aim at the next guy that was approaching the scene. Just a guy in civilian clothes. Unarmed. Even at the distance she could tell the man was just confused as to the un-expectd explosion and the out of nowhere attack of a Mandalorian on a refueling station on Concord Dawn. The man was clearly not a threat. He was just seeing what was going on. Maybe a bit shaken from the blast of the explosion. Vala moved her blaster on to the next target in her view. This one was different. A woman, not in amour, but armed. Even though her weapon was not drawn, she was in a position to get the drop on Praxx.

”This kweesa is keeping the pests out of your fur wompy ...”

Vala said in response to his com chatter and took aim to fire her second shot. Deep breath. Hold it for half a heartbeat. Calm your body. Exhale and squeeze.
Another deadly bolt raced towards the sight of the main attraction and without warning struck the unarmored woman in the side. She fell but Vala never saw it. She had already moved her weapon on to the next target. She would try and make make sure that nobody could approach Praxx from any of his blind spots.

There were many reasons why a man fought. Following orders, protecting his home, opposing those who were in the wrong, or simply because he wanted to. In this instance, all of the above were true. Beau was here on orders from the new Mandalore, to secure Concord Dawn, his home, and to resist any incursions by those that opposed his rule. As for the last, he would have most definitely been here even if had not been ordered to. Concord Dawn was home, and no one messed with his home.

As it was, they were late to the party, and the outpost was already under attack. There was already chatter on comms, and more than one warning of a sniper, after which it had been a simple matter of pinpointing the sniper's location based on the shots. So as the sniper took her shots, and her companion with the repeating blaster was having his fun in the distance below her, Beau was sneaking up behind her, having altered his approach to the station to deal with the most irritating element first.

Mandalorians were warriors, but they were also hunters, and if needed they could be deadly assassins. And it was with that intent that he snuck up through the treelike towards her, moving slowly and carefully to avoid any stray leaves or branches crunching under his foot and giving away his position, his DL-44 held ready in his arm. With the woman's eyes down her scope, her attention on keeping her companion safe, and the sound of the battle below and her own shots providing more than enough distraction, he was likely well positioned to get the jump on her. She was looking after his blind spots, but he was about to approach her from her blind spot.

Praxx's rotary cannon burned red hot with pressure and heat, filling the air with smoke and the smell of burning plasma that filtered through his helmet. With the combined efforts of the Mandalorian sniper and his cannon, the pair had cut through the sparsely defended refinery. His own laser bullets had continued as Vala had taken her sniper shot -- striking and taking out the last of the guards. Praxx was unaware that Beau had arrived at that moment.

The Coaxium and other hyperspace fuel was being stored inside large safety containers which could be clamped to a hauler. The hard part was done, so he thought. "Targets are eliminated, prepare for phase two. Securing the Containers for shipment." He called through the comms as he tossed his burned out rotary blaster to the ground, and opting for his back-up RT-97C.

The large figure would lumber into the center of the fenced in area. Two or three civilians had lined up outside of the shot up control station, their hands in the air. He could easily be seen inside the fenced in area if Beau chose to look.

A message from Praxx came in through her comlink.

"Targets are eliminated, prepare for phase two. Securing the Containers for shipment."

Vala sighed in relief. Time to followed along with Praxx's plan and join him below in the refueling station.

“I will make my way down.”

She responded over comlink and pulled her weapon out of it's position.
This had gone over faster than she had thought and much smoother than initially expected. The brute was done with clearing out the rabble down there. And without getting himself killed no less.

Vala flipped the cover of her sight down. She rolled onto her side and quickly got on her feet. All she had to do was step over the small mound she had been resting her weapon on and let herself drop down the rather steep side of the hill. She walked forward and pushed herself off with her feet strong enough to trigger her repulsor pack. It burst to life with its silent power and the forward jump accelerated her in a straight line for a moment. The push was just enough so that she would not slide down the side of the mountain like Praxx had done. The repulsor pack slowed her decent to a manageable speed yet she felt the ground still came closer rather fast. She was aiming for the bottom of the hill and would land just on the same platform that Praxx had started his assault from. She was aiming for the space between the empty shipping containers that stood there, makig sure not to land on top of them.

As Beau made his way towards the sniper he suddenly noticed something, silence. All the blaster fire had died out, which meant one of two things, either the visitors had been repelled, or they had overcome the station's defenses. And given the presence of the sniper less than 30 feet ahead of him who was still in play he had to assume it was the latter.

He continued forward, and ultimately reached the same perch the sniper had occupied, and went to a knee to observe the scene below, spotting someone landing in in the station perimeter and assuming it was her. Holstering his blaster, he pulled out the carbine slung over his shoulder, scanning the outpost as he did so, taking note of the containers of hyperspace fuel, and the dead bodies littered all around. He was outnumbered, and outgunned. He needed to even the playing field.

Taking aim with his carbine, he started shooting, his first burst of a half dozen rounds were aimed for the hyperdrive fluid containers. Three shots each to two that were furtherest apart from each other, enough to make them explode and set off a chain reaction as the explosions caught the surrounding containers. His intent was simple, let the invaders be taken out by the same items they had come to steal. Those close to the containers would likely be killed on the spot, while those around the perimeters were likely to be blasted away hard enough to either be knocked out or at least take one hell of a beating.

Next, he would turn his attention back to the figure that hand landed as he had arrived, the snipper, and if she wasn't already knocked out or worse by the explosion he would start firing at her, aiming for the head. One after another six more rounds would ring out, and impact against her unless she took dramatic action to avoid the shots.

The Mandalorian would shift his heavy frame towards the direction of where the blaster fire had come from. It was in the distance that a newcomer had arrived onto the scene and began to fire into their direction and towards the containers that had been located inside the perimeter of the facility he'd fire a few shot's from his own heavy blaster in the direction of Beau, but he knew that it was useless to fire from this far away.

As Beau's blasts were aimed towards the containers, the explosive expert began to count down in preparation. The sound of the container dented and then came the hiss. Now... While he had not been standing close to where the containers had been stacked. He knew that it was going to hurt. As the coaxium took the air, the Mandalorian would lower his body, turning his back of heavy plating, with the Thermal suit beneath, and would brace himself the best he could.

The explosion would trigger, sending a blastwave through the area and killing the Mandalorian survivors who had been taken against the wall. The large Mandalorian himself would feel some of the heat push against his suit and the feeling of the wave's impact struck at his back, damaging the plating completely and sending him into the air.

There was a loud buzzing sound that whizzed in his ears as he went tumbling into the hangar platform that hung over the small station, denting the platform with a crater. The back plating had been completely damaged at that point and his head rocked into his helmet. He tried his best to pull onto the platform, but his large hands couldn't grasp it -- and so he pulled his legs into a brace as he fell and began to tumble down the ridge towards the valley below.

There was no way he would be involved in that fight that was going on above. He had fallen too far, his armor had completely damaged, and he would be suffering from a severe concussion, and possible broken ribs and legs when he finally stopped rolling. As far as he was concerned he was out of the fight, and the Mandalorian hunter would have to take to finding him if it was even worth it.

Vala had just landed after gliding down from the ridge line. Then a six shot salvo of blaster fire rang out from above her. It whizzed through the air and struck something off to the side. She didn't bother looking what it had hit and instead reacted immediately. Vala jumped forward and rolled into the open doors of the shipping container in front of her where she would be out of view from any shooter above.

She had just passed through the container doors. when an explosion rocked through the facility. She was still lying belly down on the floor of the container. With a sudden movement the container she was in and all the others around it were shoved across the platform with an ear-piercing screech. The doors slammed shut and the container turned. Suddenly she was in the dark. Vala could hear things strike the outside of the container but thankfully they were far enough from the main explosion and the container apparently sturdy enough to withstand the punishment it was taking.

Finally the containers slowed down and stopped skidding across the floor when the shock wave and fireball of the explosion had passed over them. The doors of her container swung open again, as it stopped moving. The entrance of the container was now facing away from the ridge line and towards the burning rubble of the completely destroyed refueling plant.

Any shots that would have been fired at her if she had remained out in the open which she did not would not be able to hit her now since she wasn't there any more and the shots wouldn't have been fired.

--- --- ---

Just then she could hear something big and heavy land close to the container. The sound of metal tearing apart by sheer force, then a whoosh. Multi colored flames burst upwards and created dense black smoke. More impacts happened around her and she realized that it was barrels of fuel. Whatever had caused the first explosion had tossed these smaller barrels of fuel around like ping pong balls and they were raining down all around, the spilled contents being set aflame by the burning debris which the first explosion had spread.

This fuel however did not explode. It littered the area with burning puddles. With great presence of mind she flipped on her rebreather. Better not to breathe any of that smoke in.

She activated her personal cloaking device and waited for three seconds to pass. While she waited she took her rifle with her left and drew her blaster pistol with her right. She cocked the hammer while she drew. Ready for someone to step into her line of sight she aimed the pistol towards the container doors and waited.

Having time to think about the fate of Praxx she was consoled by the fact that the man had surely died fast. As she waited, smaller secondary explosions went off in the rubble of the refueling station ahead.
Once her personal cloaking device was fully turned up she would try to leave.

Beau didn't look away as the explosions started, not just because you didn't take your eyes off the target till the hunt was over, but because if he pulled the trigger then he had to show his enemies the respect of seeing the outcome. He had brought death to them, but that did not mean he would let them die alone.

Waiting for a few minutes for the smoke to dissipate, all the while weapon trained on the refueling station below, he finally pushed himself to his feet once it was clear enough to see. He stepped off from the edge, and triggered his jetpack to send him soaring through the sky to land amongst the ruined remains of the station. The bodies of friends and foes alike littered the ground. Kneeling besides the body of one of the men who had been attempting to load the fuel onto the hauler, he folded his arms over his chest and nestled his ruined weapon there.

«May you find peace in Kad Ha'rangir's embrace brother.» He muttered the words as he rose to his feet, and over the next half hour or so he repeated the gesture with the other casualties, collecting the bodies near the somewhat intact administrative office, and even found a few survivors within the ruins. He sent out a call for medical aid, and once done treating the injured and the dead he sat down atop the half melted ruins of what might have once been a supply crate.

He let out a sigh as he took off his helmet, taking a deep breath and staring away into the distance. He was home, but at what cost?
