DESCRIPTION
Some starships, in the eyes of their owners, just don't have enough firepower. While the majority of ships are armed with at least a pair of laser cannons, some owners feel they need just a little extra punch in a firefight, and thus will endeavor to fit heavier weapons to their craft. A common choice for such upgrades is the installation of a concussion missile launcher, which gives a craft an outsized strike capability, especially against ground targets and small capital ships, although also against other craft similar in size to themselves. Fitting such an upgrade to most craft is, in theory, not difficult, but is understandably regulated in most of the Galaxy.

Concussion missile launchers may be fitted multiple times to the same ship, however due to their bulk and weight, each installation will impose a penalty on performance to any craft fitted with them. Different sizes of launcher are available, these being Light, which has a magazine of 2 missiles and imposes a -5 MGLT penalty, Medium, which has a 4 missile magazine and a penalty of -10 MGLT, and Heavy, which has a magazine of 8 missiles and a penalty of -20 MGLT.

Extra concussion missile launchers can be fitted to ships which already have them as standard, but will still impose the aforementioned penalties.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Upgrading a ship with non-standard concussion missile launchers is subject to permits and special licensing in much of the Galaxy.

INTENT
To create a weapons upgrade for starships.
