CONSTRUED
The Mandalorians of Contruum

Recently the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) caught wind of a group of Mandalorians near the planet of Contruum. It was unclear if they were mercenaries or indeed mere pirates, but with the state of the Empire, the many insurgent acts within its territory and their everpresent war against the Sith Order, the option of hiring Mandalorians mercenaries seemed evermore appealing.

Intelligence had suggested that the Mandalorians of Contruum operated from at least one Hunter-class Frigate, so Commander Karn had decided to travel to the planet onboard his own Pugio-class Frigate called the 'Haradan' with a few hyperdrive-capable fighters and shuttles alongside it. After all, the Pugio-class did not have its own hangar. While enroutre he had received worrisome news as apparently another group of Mandalorians had gone to Contruum, Rancor Squadron, and they would outnumber the Imperial Commander in armament and bodies both.

Still, the Empire was eager to see what was left of the Mandalorians that had attempted their 'Crusade' years ago. The two groups had a long history of both alliances to each other's mutual benefit and of hostilities and anger. It was time for Levik to find out out what kind of Beskar this current generation of Mandalorians was made.

So right smack on the surface of tropical Contruum, with the 'Haradan' hovering above in the clouds, Commander Karn set up a tent flanked by Imperial banners and waited. A few dozen Peacekeepers were kept around for security, but the commander himself was not wearing his armor and had instead opted for the black uniform of his rank. It was unfortunately that today was going to be a day filled with sunshine, for being on a tropical world wearing black wasn't an ideal situation.

The Rally Master had organized a campaign to get a foot in the door with the Contruum System. One meeting was underway with the leaders of the Crusade in space but there were other parties interested in having talks. Hauron was alerted early by the long range scanners Rancor Squadron possessed. The bridge crew of the Dralaalar would clock any capital ship coming in and out of the system and the Haradan definitely warranted a look.

There was still very much the threat of piracy and crime despite this not quite being the outer rim. The numerous busy hyperlanes in neighboring space made Contruum a nice tucked away piece of the galaxy. But this made it an ample opportunity for corsairs or other individuals wishing to go unnoticed by the greater galaxy.

<"They're probably Imperial."> Hauron had said after looking over the details of the Pugio and the starships accompanying it. <"Brigands would have made mods and be flying in a less disciplined formation."> His gloved fingers pointed out the hologram positioning to his fellow Mandalorians before returning the hand to his crossed arms. He was in no rush to meet them or announce his own presence.

Rancor Squadron were still very much new arrivals and could be considered guests in Contruum space. The remnants of Nox Solus's crusade banded together to make a Private Military Company and have been hired by the Contruum ship yards and other parties in the system to bolster their planetary defense forces. It would be safe to say the ex-Crusaders had already spotted and taken note of the Haradan.

Hauron pondered how best to proceed for a few heartbeats before turning from the display table. <"Maintain operations but keep an eye out in case any more show up. I'll get closer and check them out. Maybe I'll even say hello."> The fleet of ships knew how to evade dangers and when to engage. A single frigate was more than a match for a corvette and could probably defeat the carrier in one on one combat. But the Haradan was not here to start a fight and Hauron had no desire to start one either. It was just a precaution to stay on guard.

After a few minutes of travel, Hauron piloted the Werda Kom'rk to the surface of Contruum. He was escorted by a pair of fang interceptors with rotating wings around their bodies. The tropical atmosphere was plied by the blade wings of the starfighters. Inside the ship was a half full compliment of a dozen Mandalorians, not including the Rally Master who piloted the ship slowly at low altitude.

A few kilometers before they would came into view of the meeting site, the doors of the transport opened to allow six of the twelve Rancor Squadron warriors to exit the vessel and engage their jetpacks while in flight. The approach was not intended to be hostile. The speed at which they traveled was relatively slow to allow the airborne warriors to arrive at the same time and in style. The half dozen warriors landed in front of the Werda Kom'rk, landing confidently in the immediate vicinity and with their colors of red, orange and black providing beautiful contrast among the lush green and browns of the tropical surface.

The gauntlet transport had its wings point skyward as it completed its landing sequence fifty meters from the tent. The two escorting starfighters would land on either side as well while the remaining Mandalorians inside the Werda Kom'rk exited the ship.

Like Levik, Hauron was dressed in all black, almost. He had a red stripe running down his right chest plate and detailing in parts of his armor. A sigil of Rancor Squadron along with markings of the Mythosaur, dire badgers, and others were daubed on his armor which painted a picture of his past accomplishments and allegiances. The flying Mandalorians carried carbines in hand but kept them pointed towards the ground while Hauron had an exotic sonic rifle secured beside his jetpack on his back.

Everyone knew to be on their best behavior. This was the first interaction with the Empire and Rancor Squadron so Hauron wanted to set a good impression. Most of the Mandalorians would remain by their ships however the Group Leader was flanked by an personal guard of four warriors who kept a distance of a few meters behind him. "Greetings." He said in Galactic Standard Basic to the man who appeared to be in charge.
