The Corstris Temple was an ancient temple built in the location of a Force Nexus on the planet Corstris, built centuries or maybe even millennia before the Clone Wars and was largely lost to history before being rediscovered by the former Jedi Knight Cayne Dres.
Description
The temple was located deep inside of the Corstris jungles, near a large lake stream. The temple's exterior was colossal in size; however its halls and contents lead underground and revealed a much more large-scale interior.
Interestingly, the Force Nexus that the temple was built on was both powerful in the Light and Dark sides of the Force – fluctuating back and forth between each other. It was a site that many Jedi and Sith visited over time, thus the imprints left behind were the reason behind this.
Inside the temple, it was filled with long halls held up by rectangular pillars and were lit up by patterns in the wall that glowed due to the high concentration of the Light and Dark sides of the Force. Ancient, glowing drawings were also imprinted in the temple’s walls.
Deeper inside the temple, and located at its centre lied a vault that could only be activated using the Force and housed artefacts and trinkets that were left behind by past visitors.
Because of its link to the Dark side of the Force, the temple was known to induce manifestations of an individual’s worst fears, past traumas, insecurities and their weaknesses. These manifestations were also used by Force-sensitive individuals as a Rite of Passage of sorts to overcome their greatest flaws.
History
The temple was built by a long since extinct Force-sensitive cult compromising of Corstris natives, millennia ago. Because of it being built on top of a powerful Force Nexus, the temple was used as a place of worship by said-cult.
Long after the cult’s extinction, rumours and whispers led various Jedi and Sith to visit this temple and study its Force Nexus thus leaving their Light and Dark side imprints respectively.
Records of this temple were lost to time and by the time of the Galactic Republic, the temple was completely forgotten until it was rediscovered by Cayne Dres as he was led to the temple by the Force itself.
Intent
Intended as Site Lore, it will play an important part in Jeyten Dres’ arc as well as a means for other characters to use this temple to find knowledge or overcome their fears and flaws.
