DESCRIPTION
The Couronne is a sleek vessel of Nubian design. It is relatively new on the galactic market as the first ship of its class was produced in 491 ABC and not distributed onto the open market until 492 ABC. Since then, the vessel has gained a good reputation for the relatively quick speed at which it can travel across the galaxy and more importantly the elegant exterior along with the comfortable interior. While not the most expensive ship of Nubian design, the utility of this vessel along with the good quality has made it popular among those who wish to travel with comfort and style.

It is slightly larger than the average freighter but of a much smaller size than the commercial space liners of the galaxy. The hull is of a sleek Nubian design and is composed of a small number of large plates providing optimal use of resources and minimizes air resistance when entering the atmosphere of a planet. The small number of snugly attached plates does, however, mean that modifying the exterior by attaching weapons cannot be done without radical modifications to the hull in its entirety.

In exchange for much of the vessels cargo capacity, the Nubian designers created comfortable areas for the passengers including the main hall with a sky view, personal booths, screens which datapads can be connected to and energy outlets. There is also a small lounge at the back in which warm food can be served and that is better suited for social interactions than the main hall. Between the lounge and the main hall is a short corridor containing a lavatory and a communications device through which it is possible to speak to both of the ship's passenger areas. Some Couronne-class shuttles have a smaller lounge but come equipped with a simple cooking station instead.

While the vessel can be commandeered by a single pilot, it can be made more efficient with a navigator and even more so with a co-pilot. It is relatively common for commercial Couronne-class shuttles or those belonging to governments or wealthier individuals to have removed a few passenger seats in order to create an area for a cabin crew. These areas usually contain smaller seats along with blankets, liquids and other items which could be desirable. Despite not being included in the first model, the Nubian company soon realized that many of the people who traveled in their new design desired a long range communications suite which was then incorporated and has been included as a stock function ever since.

LEGALITY
This ship is legal everywhere.

INTENT
I wanted to make a more fancy ship and noticed that there were relatively few ships of Nubian design in the current timeline. This is supposed to be a more luxurious shuttle of a smaller scale than those that already exist and that can be used both privately and commercially.

ADVANCED TECH
No, this is not advanced tech. While glamorous and quick, this ship is not very large, it does not carry weapons and cannot be upgraded to carry weapons either.

Not sure if it's been allowed for other ships, but Nubia drive yards was actually founded 300 years before the battle of Naboo, so thousands of years in the future from us. As most of the sleek Nubian designs for hand in hand with the Naboo ships, and Naboo itself is far from it's movie era state.

Thanks for the heads-up! I switched out the company which made the design for a made-up company. I seem to remember the tech rules mentioning sleek Nubian designs but I have no idea how it is at this age. Is there another solution or may there be a need to scrap the ship entirely?

I believe they do have ship yards I'm just not sure if the company exists. They probably are not up to the same degree of production or renown as we are used to them. Thus far this TL they were producing imperial ships for the Republica before the uniting of the two sith factions earlier this TL.

Nah, still works. Was just saying the manufacturer might need changing, but by Dara's post probably not.

@Pyrenees, can you please center the Description, Legality, Intent and Advanced Tech headings so that they match the template? Also, you sure this thing doesn't need any escape pods?

Oh, for some reason I was of the impression that it was supposed to be aligned to the left. It is fixed now.

I've also added some escape pods like you suggested. I could scale down the number of them if four are too many.

@Pyrenees, there were still some formatting issues, but I went in and fixed them myself. However, on the escape pods, you're short accommodations for 1 crew-member. I would just make it 4 5-being pods.

One other thing, somewhat minor. In the description, you state the first ship wasn't built until 491, "and not distributed onto the open market until 491," did you mean for that second 491 to be a different year? Also, just generally a few other grammar and spelling mistakes in the description that could use correcting.

Thanks for fixing the formatting for me!

I thought that 4-being escape pods was some kind of standard since it seemed to be used in many other ships but will gladly take the 5-being escape pods instead. Fixed!

I can't have been very focused when writing that, I meant to write 492 and have corrected that mistake. I have also gone through the text again and hope that I've managed to fix the grammatical mistakes. Right now, the only spelling mistakes that appears on the spelling program on the site provides are when I've written Couronne and datapads - granted that I've added some words spelled with British English to the dictionary.
