Happy Life day! A holiday that originated with and is celebrated by Wookiees on Kashyyyk and has become a renowned holiday all across the galaxy. At least, except for the Sith. The Empire removed any hope of ever allowing that celebration eons ago. Excluding them, Life Day is celebrated by so many species and races and cultures. Although Mandalorians respect the Wookiees for the strength of their warriors, they don't technically celebrate Life Day itself. At least in the way they do.

Life Day is a sacred day to Wookiees, in which they celebrate the diverse ecosystems of Kashyyyk, mourn those who have died, and celebrate the lives of the young ones in their families. They consider it their duty to return to Kashyyyk on Life Day where they chew the root of the orga plant and journey to the Life Tree. They also reinforced any life debts they had to their so-called “honor families” during the holiday. Those who celebrate the holiday often decorate wroshyr trees as a symbol of the day. Life Day was most important when Wookiees were in mass enslavement across the galaxy, as it was a means of connecting to their history even when forced to be away from home.

Today Corrine Eldar was travelling to Kashyyyk with her own family. Well technically they weren't related as other cultures might label them. Corrine and Vax were both of the same clan. As blood was not a factor in how families were put together in Mandalorian culture, they might as well be siblings. But if Vax tried to call her his sister she'd give him a smack on his head. Corrine, who liked to be called Cory, always considered herself "one of the boys" and she made sure anyone she associated with knew it.

They landed late last night just a day before the festivities began. Several other races came to enjoy the celebration as well, not all of them good. Trandoshan hunters were the cause of Corrine's current mission. They liked to set up in the forests around the main city of Rowrakruk and snatch them while they were unprepared. Its for this very reason Corrine and her partner were getting up early that morning, before the Tree-drum music began to fill the air, to go hunting.

As always, Corrine was dressed in her armored Beskar'gam. Given to her after her father's passing, she colored the iron skin red in honor of her family. It hadn't come close to fitting her at the time, and she had to modify it heavily to fit her frame. But now it was just as much a part of her as her own skin. Making sure to stay safe herself, on either hip she wore "Strill" blaster pistols and on her back a "Shriek-hawk" Blaster Rifle. Once her artillery had been checked and readied, she slid her T-visor over her head and knocked on the adjacent door to see if Vax was ready.

Ah life day, that festive time of year where many in the galaxy tried to forget their woes and come together as family and friends. Or course to the Mando nothing said festive like hunting down a few nasty Trandoshan slavers. Leave it to those lizard brains to try and ruin a nice time for everybody.

He was already up and had just slid on his boots when Cory's knock came on the door of his quaint treehouse room. He stood and as he walked over to answer he picked up his helmet and tucked it under his arm. He would swing open the thatched door and smile as he saw Cory, glad to know she was ready and as eager as he was for the hunt.

"Well look at you, despite that red armor you really are an Eldar Cory. Eager to hunt some nasties and save Life Day are we?" He half chuckled and he raised his helmet and slid it over his head, a very slight hiss as his suit sealed. His HUD came online and all his armor functions read green. He grabbed his custom rifle which he had leaned next to the door and slung it over his shoulder. He already had his strile pistol on his hip along with his vibro-machete and knife. He only carried 2 of his stun grenades as he figured live capture wasn't going to be much of an option here.

He nodded to Cory to indicate that he was ready to go as he stepped out and closed his door. Vax had to admit it was nice to finally be beside a fellow Eldar again. It'd been weeks since he'd been among his Clan and Cory would be a welcome partner. Of course it helped that the woman was easy on the eyes, though Vax could never resist a woman in a well fitted Beskar'gam.

"Alright, let's get to work euk si<little sis>." She wouldn't see it of course; but Vax smiled as he said it, figuring it would get on the tomboyish Cory's nerves.

"You know it!" she'd give him a wink and a thumbs-up gesture.

"Alright, let's get to work euk si<little sis>."

Corrine gave him a playful/ not-so playful nudge as she hit him on the arm, "Di'kut! <idiot> What have I told you about calling me that!" She would then slide on her own helmet and then add, "I may be smaller than you, but I'll kick your butt if you keep it up."
