I got a mental image of someone who died through that act on the X-Files. Death by exsanguination is not a pretty sight.

Depends on how its done, for instance if you put a needle with a rubber tube attached into a mans jugular and have it drain into a barrel it wouldn't be nearly as ghastly as say slicing a throat from ear to ear and letting it flow out by hanging the corpse upside down.

But see thats not exsanguination. Exsanguination is simply someone bleeding to death.

No, they died from exsanguination, not from being skinned in it of itself. It wasn't the slit-throat way.

*sigh* Yes, I realize that, but the skinning itself has nothing to do with the act of exsanguination, it's merely a means to exsanguinate.
