Crisp-E-O Donut Droid

Affiliation: N/A

Ownership: Tarek Lawson

Intent: This droid was made for two very valid reasons. The first reason is that I saw this droid on Wookiepedia and had to have it be canon. The second, much more valid reason is that Tarek Lawson is a cop character/smuggler. What's a smuggler without a droid helping him out? What's a cop without a donut? These two go together like bacon and eggs. Butter and toast. Alcohol and sobbing children.

Model/Name: Crisp-E-O Donut Droid

Class: 3rd degree cooking droid

Locomotion: The Crisp-E-O Donut Droid walks around on two legs, which have multiple points of articulation and are designed to keep the droid from tipping over. As such, his legs move quickly and with what could only be described as 'random precision'; it walks with fast, almost comical motions, yet it rarely trips.

Power Supply: Each unit contains three rechargeable batteries, each with a lifespan of roughly 72 hours. These batteries can be charged by simply being plugged into an outlet or having a mobile battery-charging pack attached to the droid itself. These batteries are designed to hold such a long charge to avoid expensive electric bills on the part of restaurant owners.

Sensors: Each Crisp-E-O contains two photoreceptors designed to pick up visible light. Furthermore, its sensors can tell how slippery a surface is, which allows the unit to prevent slipping. It also has 'memory-based navigation,' which it relies upon to navigate familiar places should its photoreceptors lose power or be obstructed.

Size: 1.2 meters

Composition: The Crisp-E-O is made of durasteel and duraplast, which allows the droid to withstand the usually-hot conditions of a kitchen for long periods of time, not to mention the vat of hot oil inside the droid.

Weapons: Inside the Crisp-E-O is a vat of hot oil it uses to cook donuts that could be used as a weapon. However, its use as a weapon significantly diminishes its ability to make more donuts until the oil is replenished. Its coffee-maker can also be used as a weapon if the droid is somehow positioned in such a way that it could be used as such. Unfortunately, this also severely limits its means by which it can make coffee.

Tools: The interior of the Crisp-E-O donut droid contains a variety of culinary ingredients. This includes powdered sugar, frosting/icing components, chocolate, nuts, creme and sugar, oil, and dough. The bottom of the droid can hold plates and, if secured, a coffee mug. It has four arms, all of which can move independently and perform various tasks.

Description: The Crisp-E-O donut droid is a third-degree droid designed for culinary purposes. Populating the kitchens of diners, cafes, and fancy restaurants alike, this droid is the overlooked, underrated powerhouse of the galaxy donut and coffee-making industry, though traditional coffee makers are more common since many people enjoy coffee from machines that don't talk. Like all droids, the Crisp-E-O donut droid will develop a personality without routine memory wipes. Due to the mundane nature of working in a kitchen, many employees and restaurant owners will elect to allow the Crisp-E-O to develop a personality. Usually, this personality manifests itself in the form of a very dirty vocabulary and a cranky demeanor, reflecting the nature of the chefs. It is not unusual for a Crisp-E-O to emit a scream of curses that last well over a minute after it drops a plate.

Inside the Crisp-E-O are several tools that allow it to perform its function. It can make up to a dozen donuts a minute on a busy night, in addition to making a cup of coffee at the same time. Due to its ability to perform both mundane and complex tasks at the same time while simultaneously making food, the Crisp-E-O has been said to be among the most useful kinds of droids in existence. The Crisp-E-O, however, is known for being very upset, even to the point of clinical depression, if it is not allowed to perform its function. Their constant existential crises prevent the Crisp-E-O from being used in other everyday matters. The grip of a Crisp-E-O is said to be vice-like, a side-effect of its near-obsessive tendency to make food.

Features:
-Over 2,500 recipes in databank
-Hot oil fryer
-Can hold plates or plate-shaped items in abdomen
-Comes in blue, silver, red, and black

There is not a scenario in which this droid would not be at least marginally useful.

So basically it's a joke meant to be used as a joke!?

No, it's a droid meant to be used as a donut machine.

This droid existed in Legends lore. The pic I used was concept art for Episode II in Dex's Diner. When the idea was canned, one of the writers gave the droid a little background and added it to something in the Star Wars magazine or the website. I expanded upon the idea.

Of course it can. If it's a donut, it can be made.

Cruellers, too.

So if I have this right, this is a droid that makes donuts, coffee and... more donuts?
