From what he'd read from the library at the Temple, both in Ajan Kloss and Yavin, the planet Mygeeto had a long history with the Jedi Order. If he could remember correctly, a Jedi Master fell here during the Clone Wars by the hand of his own men. Reading that passage brought a pang of sadness to the Sorgan native's heart, but it was all in the past now. Other than the death and wars that once plagued the planet Maiko also learned that Padawans like him often traveled (and still did) here for the Gathering, and Maiko had a feeling that he would find the last, most important piece of his half-constructed lightsaber in this place.
Three days after the funeral of Masters Tionson and Rand, Maiko started to dream of snow and a cave lined with glowing crystals. The dream persisted for days, prompting him to spend time in the library during his free time and after training so he could somehow glean something that might point him to the place he kept dreaming of. Past lessons and further researches into the library pointed him to Mygeeto, and the moment he caught sight of the planet once his Master's ship jumped out of hyperspace Maiko knew that he was in the right place.
Snow crunched beneath his booted feet as he stepped off the ramp, eyes wide as he drank in the sight before him. White, in seemingly endless stretches. Slopes pointed to mountains from a distance, and cave holes leading underground. Maiko huddled into his thermal jacket for warmth as he turned to gaze back at his Master's ship, waiting for her to descend and join her outside.
It was still light out, and snow fell gently around him. The young Padawan felt nervous, his gaze finding his boots in apprehension. He knew he was in the right place, felt the Force guide him all the way here, but somehow a sliver of doubt still crept in his mind. What if he did not find his kyber crystal here? What if the crystal itself rejected him? What if he picked the wrong one?
Questions ran unbidden in his mind, each one more preposterous than the last.
