DESCRIPTION
The Cutlass-9 patrol starfighter is a combat spacecraft manufactured by the SoroSuub Corporation. Designed in the decades prior to the Clone Wars, the Cutlass-9 was initially intended solely for the use of the Sullust defense militia, however it was later offered for export, proving reasonably popular with planetary governments, police forces and mercenaries. At the outbreak of the Clone Wars, large numbers were supplied to various states within the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Sales initially tapered off following the war, however SoroSuub later sold several production runs of the type to the fledgling Alliance to Restore the Republic, which they used in addition to ex-CIS inventory they acquired from elsewhere.

The Cutlass-9 patrol starfighter is fairly basic by the standards of modern craft, although it was considered highly advanced prior to and during the Clone Wars. 12 meters in length, it is flown by a single crewbeing, and is armed with a pair of medium laser cannons, as well as an 8-shot concussion missile launcher. The type has a top speed of 100 MGLT, and boasts a class 2 hyperdrive.

In the present day, Cutlass-9 patrol starfighters are becoming much less common than they were. They are still a perfectly serviceable combat ship, and can still be found on many battlefields.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Cutlass-9 patrol starfighters are combat-rated spacecraft, and are subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.

INTENT
