Much had been destroyed when the generators were blown up and the recognizeable office blocks had slanted due to the underground explosions. Thankfully, Imperial Czerka's board were rarely seen at this location and the terror attack, while seemingly horrible for the Czerka Megacorporation stock, was mostly a disaster for the families of the clerks and other lower corporate associates and executives.
When Mik attended his first meeting he did so from a heavily encrypted special communicator from his Systech office on Etti IV. Time had been on the essence and a corporate security man had hand-delivered the communicator to him. What surprised him the most was that of the twenty-something executives in the meeting only three were at the physical location of the new emergency headquarters.
The reports were send in quick succession. Three-hundred pages. Summary was still forty pages long. Then someone had the audacity to file a thousand-page financial report on-
Mik blinked a few times as he read the dazzling numbers. Imperial Czerka had actually done it. The entire western dominion of the Empire was more or less being stripped of its resources to fuel the development of Raxus Prime and the Imperial War Machine. Just as the late Davik Emer-Drast had arranged when he first became Emperor.
"Executive Deluto," as sharp female voice cut through his astonishment, "I see you have not yet filed the appropriate financial reports on your sector." a chastisement, on his first day on the job.
"My apologies, eh-" he tried to find the holographic figure that belonged to the sharp voice among the other executives and then spotted the Imperial Czerka uniform pin of a boardmember. Newly assigned, perhaps? "-this is my first day. First hour, actually-" Mik tried to smile his way to an excuse and yet the boardmember seemed unamused. "Let the record reflect Executive Deluto failed to file his report in time. A first warning," no one at the meeting spoke up on his behalf, "there will not be a second."
Kriff, being an Imperial Czerka Sector Executive was cutthroat. Mik nodded and made a mental note that he'd reserve some of systech-adrenals for that night in an effort to stay awake and bulldoze through the existing reports on his sector.
