Valeska was impressed he even opened the door at all, so she wasn’t fussed about him not sticking around to close it, “Thank you,” She said politely as she got in. She had to remind herself to not sit so stiffly, her posture still giving away her royal origins. When he started blasting the music, she had to make a point not to comment on it. He had his methods, and she would trust them for now. They got them further than hers did.

Jun took over the talking and Valeska slowly slipped away. Jun would likely be surprised at how good she was at simply disappearing. It came from years of giving her security detail the slip when she wanted to sneak off. She soon found herself in a back office, rummaging through papers and materials after she put on some worker gloves found nearby.

After finding a key, she opened a cabinet and found what looked like a crudely drawn map that outlined some local cities. There was also a notebook that had some details on Davin on it, but she didn’t have time to read through it.

Valeska quickly slinked out of the office, walking around the back to meet with Jun once he left. Once they met again, she actually had a smile on her face for the first time, “I think we’re finally getting somewhere,” She said as she handed over what she snatched, “We have a limited window before they discover what I stole,” Valeska explained, “The map looks like targets they plan to hit. The notebook is information about Davin and his whereabouts. Looks like they’ve been trying to track him and he…” She paused, “..has been taking them out one by one.”

Davin Croft had turned into a vigilante.

Jun had been talking to the ex-cons turned cultists, keeping them busy. He glanced back once and Val was in the speeder, glanced back a second time and she was just gone. Poof. Disappeared. It was honestly impressive.

Jun kept the three dudes from going back in the building by asking purposefully stupid or overly technical questions. He could tell it was frustrating them, but he didn’t care. What was the worst they could do? Hit him? That would likely end worse for them than it would for him.

Eventually, he saw Val peek out from a back office area and start making her way back to the speeder. Jun would laughingly excuse himself back towards the speeder and hop in. He’d back out and drive down the street before looking at what she’d nabbed. He listened to her overview and read the maps.

He’s been waging a one man war this whole time…” Jun muttered. “I mean I would too if they did that to my family.” He commented with a shrug. “What this means is we have to find him before these cultists do.” He continued. “Is there a pattern to his hits?” Jun asked. “Maybe we can figure out a rough area on where the Davin Cavern is or somethin’.

Valeska flipped through the notebook quickly, “Looks like they have several laundering operations…this mechanic shop, a laundromat, a dry cleaning service.. Looks like Davin has been hitting them one by one,” She shook her head, “If these cultists were close to finding him, he’d be dead already. There’s nothing here to point to him.”

She looked back towards the map of targets the cult was planning to hit, sharing it with Jun, “The best we can do is get ahead of these operations and prevent them before they happen. Maybe with luck we’ll find Davin already there.”

This all sounded well out of her wheelhouse. Valeska sighed, “I’m way out of my depth here,” She admitted quietly, “I’m no Ranger, I’m a fucking princess…a diplomat..” She said, surprised at the slip of the curse word. She sighed, considering the next options.

She barely had the chance to say another word when a thunderous explosion erupted a block down.

Jun listened to Val, he followed what she was pointing to on the map. He sucked at the backs of his teeth while he thought about everything. His mind was pulled from that when Val started in, he felt her insecurity in the moment, it wasn’t something he could ignore.

His mind raced back to what Vanya had said on Jedha. It felt like there was no one else doing anything in the Galaxy to make it a better place. How wrong she was. Jun was certain Val wouldn’t like it but he gently placed his hand on her forearm anyways.

Val, I’ve fought pirates. I’ve killed Dark Side spawn. But I’m a trained Jedi, we’re expected to do those things. We’re taught how to do them.” He explained. “You saw wrong and decided to correct it without the Force, or a lightsaber, or even a blaster. You’re not just some fucking princess…” He told her. “…you’re a gods damn heroine! And you're brave, braver than me.” He offered her a smile at that. “And we got a cul-

His words were cut off when he felt something was wrong. Moments later, the speeder was rocked by a massive explosion. Jun let a series of curses roll from his lips as he cut the wheel and made their way back to where they’d come from.

Sure enough, the chop shop was burning. People were injured on the street, Jun landed the speeder and hopped out to tend to the wounded the best he could. He was no healer though and was forced to rely on basic first aid training to help bind wounds. His gaze would turn to Val.

We gotta find him before this happens again…” He told her. “…I can’t let innocent people get caught in the crossfire like this.” Jun explained. “That’s not justice, it’s just revenge.” He continued. “They need to be brought down…but not like this.
