Narri let a low whistle as she peered into their destination, already checking for her extra glowsticks and flashlights. THAT was a forbidding opening, what with the slight mist, stalactites, and pure consuming darkness. Honestly she would probably be having second thoughts if it weren't for her having tackled much worse things in the past. Really, a simple cave on a simple planet like Raxus would just never compare to the storm beasts or zombies that had taken her leg. Of course, that didn't mean there wasn't any danger here, in fact, that's why they'd come.

They'd just been passing through, fueling up their ship and getting supplies. But a passing official had caught wind of their "profession", and offered them a job. Apparently some monsters were plaguing the area, killing livestock and people and then hauling the corpses away. They had been tracked back to this cave, and people dispatched to kill them. But so far no one had come out alive yet, not even a few bounty hunters according to the official. So here they were, two Sith prepping to go in and play monster hunter.

She was with Halmo'de for this venture, thankfully, this was not something she wanted to have a rookie along for. Like that Cabbage guy, "Mister get backhanded through a forest for the entire fight" would be practically useless for sure, No, she needed someone who had actually fought giant beasts before, and she was more than familiar with Halmo'de's resume. As for why Narri herself was going through with this...really she was just intrigued by what might be inside the cave, also boredom with her current assignments. Although some sure to be easy money was also greatly appreciated, because as this "monster" was about to learn, force sensitives weren't easily ambushed.

Still, she had all her usual gear just in case. In addition she'd brought a lot of glowsticks and flashlights along with plenty of rope. She even had a rebreather on her belt with extra rations, all standard spelunking equipment. Narri just hoped Halmo'de was on board with this though, she'd kinda forced them into this without asking first. And, with Halmo at least, she felt a bit bad about that. "You ready to go," She said tentatively to the other Sith, turning away from the cave towards him. @Gian Greydragon

Halmo'de's never been a fan of caves, but if given the prospect of fighting a monster and acquiring an egg, to then raise to defend his Dojo, he would do it. He always enjoyed watching people fight them in the arenas on outer world planets, and could only imagine what hilarity would ensue if someone were to cause trouble in the dojo to have something erupt out of a moat and devour them.

Though, today, he and his long-standing ally, Narri, travelled to some far-flung to hunt them inside some dank, dark cave on their off time.

Halmo'de wore his usual gear over a skin tight wetsuit and lightweight armor, with the addition of two pistols he had lifted off the bounty Hunter that died on Taris. His rifle remained on a single point sling, in it's folded configuration hanging off of his right shoulder, ready to be sprung into action. He carried his War Pike in his left hand, choking up on the shaft of the weapon, to balance the heavy blade, keeping his right hand free. He also carried a rebreather and other gear, similar to Narri. He looked to her, with a calm grin.

"Even though the last time we fought something we found in a dark cave, it blew a hole through the top of a mountain, I'm not afraid," he laughed, "let's go."

Oh good, he was ready to go, and cheerful too, rather than moody and sullen like Narri would have been if in his position. It was the little things like that which made her enjoy Halmo'de's company, especially for missions. And while this wasn't a mission, it was still appreciated very much nevertheless. He had a point too, her last experiences in caves HAD been particularly unpleasant, one such memory being the reason for her cybernetic leg. But this wasn't going to be like that this was going to be a simple extermination, no giant monsters, no zombies.

"Heh, yeah I don't think we need to worry about that this time, after all, this isn't even really a mountain, just a whole in the ground. Good sign right?" Chuckiling gently, Narri would start forward into the darkness, flicking on one of her handheld lights to reveal the rocky floor. Right away her eyes were drawn to faint bloodstains on several rocks, coinciding with a path of weird heavy indents in the ground. Huh, well now they had a trail, really quickly too. But She didn't know why she was surprised, they'd been told that the things or whatever were dragging their kills back in here.

Gesturing towards it, Narri continued forward, already using the force to help feel her way. Following the trail a couple meters in, Narri found the cave floor suddenly slanting downwards sharply, the beginnings of a narrow tunnel forming, the little indents getting more clustered as a result. It was here that she noticed the scrapes along the tunnel walls, as if something BIG had been forcing its way through. Narri continued on anyway, simply tightening her focus for the smallest sound in the dark, trusting the force to steer her clearly.

Halmo'de chuckled at Narri's response, and moved forward with her, reaching out with the Force as they entered the cave. The blood on the ground gave him a good enough reason to illuminate the cave. With his left hand he conjured a fall of bright flame and cast it forward, dimly lighting a short expanse of the cavern, that revealed a trail of blood.

Chitinous legs skittered away from the heat, out of view from the Sith. "I'll take the lead," he said, moving further into the cave.

He cast another luminous flame into the cave, revealing a large crustacean-like creature with four hind legs and two more at the front, armed with large pincers, one of which appeared wounded. Halmo'de frowned, hoping for more of a fight, he shrugged it off and moved inward to get the creature in range of his Warpike's spring loaded blade.

The sound of skittering legs made Narri draw up short, hesitating momentarily as she looked about for the source. Halmo moved past her then, extending his hand and another burst of fire with it. That did the trick, revealing a hissing giant creature before them, barely fitting in the small passage on his four spindly legs. One of those legs, which looked like giant knives diving into the dirt, seemed injured, the beast seeming to hold it in the air. Not that the monster seemed to care, as it roared readily enough when Narri shined her light on it, showing vicious bloodstained teeth.

Huh, well they'd found their beast, an Acklay she believed. At least it definitely matched the descriptions and pictures, this being the first time she'd seen one in real life. She was impressed too, looking at the way the things legs speared into the ground with each step, ogling slightly at its height and appearance. The time for ogling came to an end however, as the Acklay let out another earsplitting screech and charged forward. Ordinarily this wouldn't have been a super huge cause for concern, they were force users after all, but they were in a cave at the moment, It was tight, and not a lot of room to run around in, and the beast hadn't been super far away to start.

All the same, its hurt leg gave her time to act, just barely. Seeing Halmo with his pike ready, Narri thrust out her palms to use the force, seizing hold of the beasts legs and jerking down. It didn't do much to a beast of that size, but it DID stall it for a moment, freezing it in place as it tried to wrench away. In that short moment, Narri called out "NOW!"

Halmo'de looked at the beast with a murderous rage in his eyes. He lifted his Warpike and fired the spring-loaded spike at the Acklay, landing a hit, but not piercing it's chitinous shell enough to do great harm. His follow up attack with the axe hear was wounding, but he would receive the broad end of a heavy arm across his chest, sending him backwards but not before he landed a second strike on the wounded claw. It was clear, this animal wasn't going to down without a fight.

Narri groaned as she released the force hold, feeling the great weight that had been on her fall away. It was just in time to watch Halmo'de be backclawed across the cavern. Free to move, and pissed as kriff, the Acklay was back on the attack almost immediately, charging in to try and finish the job. Narri hurried to intercept, aiming her blaster and running to intercept. Thankfully the beast wasn't looking at her, giving her a nice opening to fire a shot.

Squeezing the trigger, a blaster bolt leapt forward...and glanced right off the beasts face in a shower of sparks. The Acklays immediately came to halt, spinning about to face her. It SCREAMED, right in her face, giving Narri a good chance to ogle the fact that about half the thing's face was missing. Of course, she also took the chance to land her follow up blow, her lightsaber, blasted forth from her hand like a green blazing spear. The roaring Acklay, helpfully standing still, took it right in the chest the lightsaber imbedding itself quite nicely.

And that was that, or so she thought, Narri was just relaxing when the monster roared again and swung at her. The claw smacked into her, and then it was her turn to go rolling across the floor. Coming to a halt, Narri looked up in time to see the giant crustacean slowly advancing towards her, determination practically emanating from its being. Impressive, though it was also obviously flagging, its movements slow and haggard, blood creating more stains on the floor. Surely it was dying, and even a little more damage would suffice to finish it. @Gian Greydragon

The beast was on it's death throes at this point. Taking a lightsaber to the chest was not an easy attack to shrug off. Bring his free hand up, he cast a bolt of electricity, that essentially singed and stunned the beast for a moment. Narri could finish it off if she wanted to. Drawing his lightsaber un his hands, he charged inward toward the beast to serve as a distraction.

Narri picked herself up with a quiet groan, rolling the new kinks out of her neck. Even injured, this beast had a kick to it, no wonder it hadn't been stopped till now. Of course that was then, and now it was facing two Sith masters who were quite a few levels above the standard bounty hunter. And it showed too, the Acklay backed into a corner and tittering on its last legs for the first time in its violent life. Now they just had to finish the job.

That sounded so simple and easy in her head, especially considering the monsters condition. But nope, even now it had managed to withstand a bolt of force lightning sent at it by Halmo'de. At the very least though, it gave her a chance to recoup and locate her dropped saber, summoning it back to her hand with a flourish. Off to the side, Halmo charged forward with his lightsaber, presumably also looking to finish the fight. In response the wounded Acklay turned to meet him, screaming another cry of rage, though a vastly weakened one.

Doing so gave her the perfect broadside shot, one she chose to take. Narri raised her blaster and aimed carefully, for the side of the beasts head that had already been injured. A few more moments, and she fired a flurry of shots, all aiming for the head. Her aim was good, and the first bolt sheared right into its exposed face, closely followed by a few more. And the screams stopped on a dime, the Acklays forward momentum carrying it forward before it collapsed right in front of Halmo'de. Narri lowered her gun and stepped, well that was that then. She beheld the corpse silently, what an impressive beast, she wanted one. She shot a look over to Halmo'de, "You alright?"
