Del Rey just announced a new novel at Comic-Con, one starring Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos. Here is a temp cover image that they revealed:

Jennifer Heddle from Lucasfilm said the novel will deal with adult themes:

[ST]It will be based on The Clone Wars stories. Whether that means unused scripts or just based in that era, I don't know.[/ST]
EDIT: Lucasfilm confirmed that it will be based on unused scripts from The Clone Wars, which would've been episodes of the show wasn't cancelled.

...She can grow hair?

More seriously, curious as to whether this will be a Clone Wars era novel, or post-Revenge of the Sith.

I have an answer for that. I didn't have all the information when I first posted.

This is based on scripts that were written for the show, but were never produced. Presumably, unless they tweak the storyline, it'd be set during the Clone Wars. And a tweak could work; post-Order 66, Ventress and Vos would both be hunted by the Empire. They're both threats.

That hair is... something.

Any case, I was super excited when I first saw the title and picture- that excitement has been tempered somewhat hearing that the novel is based off CW scripts. Still looking forward to it though; I've always liked Ventress as a character, and a book from her perspective sounds very interesting.

Couldn't give a shit about Vos, though. Never have.

One thing that they also said at the panel is that we can probably expect to see more novels based on unused scripts from The Clone Wars moving forward. It sounds like Son of Dathomir was just the beginning.

Which is great, IMO. Keep em' coming. Season 7 and I believe season 8 of the show were already written. It'd be a shame for those scripts to go to waste.

Based on unproduced scripts from the blockbuster TV show Star Wars: The Clone Wars!

The only way to bring down the dark side's most dangerous warrior may be for Jedi and Sith to join forces.

In the war for control of the galaxy between the armies of the dark side and the Republic, former Jedi Master turned ruthless Sith Lord Count Dooku has grown ever more brutal in his tactics. Despite the powers of the Jedi and the military prowess of their clone army, the sheer number of fatalities is taking a terrible toll. And when Dooku orders the massacre of a flotilla of helpless refugees, the Jedi Council feels it has no choice but to take drastic action: targeting the man responsible for so many war atrocities, Count Dooku himself.

But the ever-elusive Dooku is dangerous prey for even the most skilled hunter. So the Council makes the bold decision to bring both sides of the Force'spower to bear—pairing brash Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos with infamous one-time Sith acolyte Asajj Ventress. Though Jedi distrust for the cunning killer who once served at Dooku's side still runs deep, Ventress's hatred for her former master runs deeper. She's more than willing to lend her copious talents as abounty hunter—and assassin—to Vos's quest.

Together, Ventress and Vos are the best hope for eliminating Dooku—as long as the emerging feelings between them don't compromise their mission. But Ventress is determined to have her retribution and at last let go of her dark Sith past. Balancing the complicated emotions she feels for Vos with the fury of her warrior's spirit, she resolves to claim victory on all fronts—a vow that will be mercilessly tested by her deadly enemy . . . and her own doubt.

Publisher's summary for Dark Disciple.

This is stupid. This is really, really stupid.

I thought her becoming a Bounty Hunter was a step into beginning a new life, and away from Dooku.

Though, am I the only one who has found Dooku, in basically every every book, game and show, Canon and Legends, just incredibly boring, dull and uninteresting?

The step back towards the Sith could be interesting, if done right. Because she's taking this job as a bounty hunter, and in doing so is placing herself back into the world of the dark side in a number of ways. So she'd essentially have to grapple with issues of identify, and still in many ways being caught between two worlds. So it could be interesting. Could.

There was just never anything interesting about him, and it had nothing to do with Sir Christopher Lee. I get it, he is a skilled duelist, had Yoda for a master and all. But its like he never openly lost or admitted defeat I. A fight, usually fleeing before it came to that. Not to mention he seemed to never falter at all in a fight. Only time I remember him really being defeated was when Hondo the Pirate and his crew captured him. Or when Mother Talzin nearly killed him with that voodoo doll.

The thing that has me mostly interested about this novel is Ventress and the targeted audience being adults.

I like Dooku, but that's mostly because of headcanon.
